people equate imperfect mental health with mental illness. Most people who are out of
shape physically are not physically ill. Similarly, most people who are out of shape mentally
are not mentally ill. There are those who are seriously mentally ill and deserve intense and
specialized treatment. The significantly larger number of people who need to pay greater
attention to mentally health should not be considered as mentally ill. It does a disservice to
them and to the seriously mentally ill to lump them together.
