Hamlet, By William Shakespeare
Hamlet, a play written by William Shakespeare, is all about revenge. All is not well in Denmark
where a king is murdered and his son is out to avenge him. The only two females in the play,
Gertrude and Ophelia, are completely overlooked. The two have little role in the story and are only
present when talking to one of the men. Gertrude lost her first husband and quickly remarried to his
brother, Claudius. Her son, Hamlet, greatly despises her for it. Ophelia believes that she and Hamlet
are in love and she is the cause of his madness. None of the men pay much attention to them unless
they are being scolded or used in a plan. Ophelia and Gertrude have many similarities like how they
do as they are told and are victims of Hamlet's madness, yet are different like how they love Hamlet
and how they react to death of a loved one.
Throughout the play, Gertrude and Ophelia do exactly what the men tell them to do. Neither
Gertrude nor Ophelia do anything without getting an okay from the men. Ophelia always listens to
her father. When Polonius tells Ophelia to stay away from Hamlet, she does as she is told. Ophelia
says, "No, my good lord; but, as you did command, I did repel his letters and denied his access to
me." (Shakespeare 2.1.120–23) She does this even though, just moments before talking with her
father, she tells how she loves Hamlet and Hamlet loves her. Gertrude also does as she is asked.
Polonius tells the king and queen about his theory on why Hamlet is mad. He asks the

The State Of Dignity
George Santayana once said, "Our dignity is not in what we do, but what we understand". The term
dignity is defined as a state of being worthy of honor or respect and self–respect. Dignity is an
important characteristic to have. Without dignity, one does not have the strength and self–respect
needed to do what is best for them. My cousin, Dianna, is dignified because she handles herself with
grace, she walked away from a toxic relationship, and she responds to hate with love.
Dianna handles herself with grace. She only wears clothing that portrays her as a proper lady. Her
closet consists of pencil skirts and blouses. Dianna has fantastic manners, which help her maintain
an aura of grace. She is likely to help someone in need before she helps herself. Dianna always
speaks nice words. She is a firm believer that words reflect the soul; she uses her words to enlighten

While it is difficult to not return the feelings, Dianna chooses to respond to hate with love. If
someone says something rude to her, she says something nice back. She is nice regardless of what
they say or do. Dianna understands that it is common for someone to hate, so she forgives them. She
will forgive someone even though their actions or words were deliberate. Most importantly, Dianna
ignores their hate. She finds that it is easier to simply ignore someone who is negative and focus on
the positive people.
Dianna is a dignified person. She handles herself with grace. Dianna always dresses like a lady, has
the best manners, and speaks nice words to help her keep her grace. Dianna walked away from a
toxic relationship. This was very brave of her to do as it can be scary to leave a part of your life
behind. Finally, Dianna responds to hate with love. She has methods of keeping her life positive.
Dignity is one characteristic that defines who you are. It is important to keep your dignity, even in

What Is Love In A Midsummer Night's Dream Essay
"Love is like a friendship caught on fire. In the beginning a flame, very pretty, often hot and fierce,
but still only light and flickering. As love grows older, our hearts mature and our love becomes as
coals, deep–burning and unquenchable." –Bruce Lee
Love. It is an internal sense of passion that grows in one's body and soul eternally and to be mutual
is so impeccable for two hearts. It's a special emotion in our hearts. Nobody knows what exactly
causes love and why it happens in a moment of our lives, yet love can open doors to many
possibilities in life. It is giving up everyone, anything and everything to be with a person and
choosing that special individual over anyone else no matter what. It is a person who you can cherish

In this play, the characters handle betrayal well. At some scenes, it's like oh!.. she lover him, and he
loves her, but at other scenes it's like nevermind I like someone else... sorry! It can be quite
confusing, just like how teens handle their relationships. Shakespeare, firmly conveys the reader that
"love is an obstacle course" and sometimes things will not turn out the way you want it.
Nobody. I mean NOBODY loves when their heart gets broken. It just feels like someone has just
stabbed you through your soul. Breakups usually never end up well. It is like a little piece getting
lost and aboarding another ship, while the other piece had set sail and you can't ever meet up again.
Love, in most cases, betrays one's feelings. This idea is clarified when egeus states
"Full of vexation come I, with complaint
Against my child, my daughter Hermia.–
Stand forth, Demetrius.–My noble

Pros And Cons Of Marrying An Arab Men
Arab men have been seen as controlling, oppressing, dominating, abusive and less tolerance, such
allegations come from scenarios. Don't marry an Arab man because he is going to do things his way,
take things at his pace. He would probably not give you a clear picture of what he wants but once he
makes up his mind, he is either going to tell you to leave or stay with him. He won't tell you a
decision without making his mind because he is probably a rational decision maker as he is being
informed and informed again and again that he needs to fill in the shoes of the right respectable

Persuasive Essay On Commitment In Love
You are a man eater, right? You are a fun lay, a good night, but commitment is not for you. You are
fierce independence and unavailability. You prefer your own company because, you annoy yourself,
but when you're alone at least no one else has that power. When did this become who you are? Did
you get hurt? A million times? Just once? Was that too much for your heart made of tender flesh?
What made you this person? Are you afraid? Are you just terrified because you fall in love with
someone the instant they do anything that makes your heart drop? To combat the possible pain, you
swear you do not love anyone or anything at all. If you cannot be the person who does not get
heartbroken once a week then you are going to be the person who does not have a heart to break.
Cold exterior, dark edge, you never let anyone closer than ten feet to you. You maintain your
mystery and posterity by making sure no one ever crosses you. The best way to do that is by
establishing your firm "no bull" policy early. God knows you are terrified. You want to be the person
with your heart on your sleeve. You would love to be someone who believes in the sentiment of "it
is better to have loved and lost than never loved at all" but you cannot bring yourself to do it. You
cannot handle the destruction. You cannot bear the weight of having to rebuild yourself every single
time. You cannot carry the cross of your own fragility.
People ask about why you are like this. They ask why you haven't found anyone. You say something
like "my standards are just really high." On some level, that is absolutely true. You will not let just
anyone in, if you are going to stop shooting them down before they have a chance, they really have
to be something special. The problem is not that you do not let just anyone in, you just do not let
anyone in.
The scary part about being a damaged heart is that when you meet someone new, your defenses are
at an all–time high. Constantly on ready to run, always testing to see if they can handle your
damage. You push away before anyone has a chance to get close. Some make it, though. It takes a
while but you start to believe them when they say they are there to stay. You tell them you are a
storm and they say they love

Eerie, emotional pain, an unbearable sadness. These are feelings being felt nationally on February

Analysis Of The House On Mango Street
We, being humans, are constantly faced with trials and hardships. There are times when we want to
escape from embarrassment, failure, and just reality itself. In the novella The House On Mango
Street, Sandra Cisneros reveals to us that when we are faced with complicated scenarios, we tend to
want to escape and run away from it all. In the book, we are shown the desire to escape from a
variety of characters. Throughout the novel, it is easy to see that a significant theme of the novella is
that sometimes, when we are faced with trials and complicated situations that we don't believe we
can handle, we feel a need to escape from the reality of it. This is revealed through some of the
many vignettes: "A Smart Cookie," "Red Clowns," and "Linoleum Roses."
In the vignette "A Smart Cookie," Esperanza's mother is telling her the reason why she decided to
quit school. "Shame is a bad thing you know, it keeps you down," She said. " You know why I quit
school? Because I didn't have nice clothes. No clothes, but I had brains." Shame controlled her
mother because she wanted to escape the feeling of not fitting and the embarrassment that came with
it. She felt that she couldn't fit in, therefore, she dropped out even though she was a "smart cookie."
She had the potential to do something great, but she let all of that go because she didn't have nice
things like all the other kids. She felt that she stood out and she wanted to be like the rest. That is
what life can do to you if you're not

Chapter two Bye–bye. Jacy thought, guess I'll see you around old house. I grabbed the last box from
the house and left out the door dropping the keys off with the landlord who was standing outside of
our door. I hustled to the moving truck, dropping off the box and shutting the back doors. As my
mom and I left the driveway I waved out the window to lucy– the landlord who has been our
landlord since I was born. (14 years ago)– and I turned around, placing my headphones on my head.
My mom (who was driving) rolled her eyes.

open and a figure jumped out at me, Whispering "creutzfeldt" in my ear. It had a raspy, low, voice.
But before I could see what it looked like, I woke up.
"A–A–A!" I screamed while throwing my head phones off, "what just happened?"
"Oh my gosh jacy are you okay?" My mom said while swerving on the road a little. I must have
scared her.
"Oh it's nothing mom, just a bad dream."
Something that weird hasn't happened since last year when that box full of glitter gave me "powers".
I thought.
When we arrived at our new house we unpacked all of our things from the moving truck and into the
house.
"I'm going to go check out the upstairs, okay?" I said already half way up the stairs.
"Alright, I'm going to go move the truck out of the road," my mom told me from the door. I darted
up the other half of the stairs skipping a few. The first thing I noticed was the master bedroom. It
had a huge bed area with a gigantic bathroom, balcony, even a wlk in closet that you could litterally
walk in, it was about 50 ft deep and 20 ft wide. It even had a mini hall way that led into a smaller
room. I think it was a little sitting area. After I checked out the guest bedroom I went

How Can Love Be Long Lasting?
To death do us part. A common phrase that is said right before two people are married. Most people
don't understand what this phrase means when they accept. Love isn't defined to whom it is but what
qualities it defines. The divorce rate is rising each day due to these misunderstandings. In the United
States the divorce rate is about 50%. Complications in the relationship lead to a downfall in love.
People in general don't look in the future to see themselves with the same person. How can love be
long lasting? Providing love isn't something that is made up in one day. Love takes time and
commitment from both parties. Most successful relationships are spontaneous and romantically
ready. Little things like bringing the spouse roses every Friday. Just keeping that spark alive is what
marriage is about. Some parent's aren't as enticed with love letters like Bonnie Smith–Yackel "My
mother never worked"Pg 95. Her parent's kept the light sparking between them.
When marrying into a relationship sharing is caring. The relationship is built on shared interests and
values. Each spouse could bring love or hate into the marriage. How they handle each others
emotions is entirely up to them. Sharing something like a house or an account takes a lot of trust. It
takes months, even years to build this much connection to a person. Losing all the trust that built up
only takes one lie or slip up. Couples dont always help each other not like Bonnie Yackel "My
Mother Never Worked"Pg 96.

Why Are Visual Aids Important In A Presentation

Campfire Revenge Analysis
Campfire Revenge
Summary:
When a husband tossed gas on a campfire, one mother was horribly injured from the fiery inferno.
She suffered burns on 40 percent of her body and face. After checking into the hospital, her husband
abandoned her and her four–year–old daughter. He was unable to handle her injuries, but he did not
expect her surprising revenge.
Introduction:
Not long ago, Terry and Courtney had an amazing life. They began a holiday romance while they
were traveling together. Before long, they were in a committed relationship. When the couple found
out that they were expected a baby, they decided to get married.
Five years later, the happy family decided to go on a camping trip. They wanted to go to the same
spot where Terry had initially proposed to Courtney after finding out that they were pregnant. The
family was excited to return to the wilderness spot where their dreams and life started together.

Her fiery demise was caused by an unintentional event. Terry had decided to get rid of the gas from

Passion: The Key To An Abusive Relationship
The things that go on behind closed doors leave others to always wonder. At times people look at
couples and begin to wonder why that lumpy, purple bruise is on their forearm. Their minds go
straight to negative thoughts. There are many abusive relationship in the world today. There is no
reason for abuse at all; although, there has to be a reason for the extensiveness of it over the past
years. When trying to give any reasonable explanation to abuse one needs to think of their life
situation. The only reasonable explanations are that couples don't show passion in each other like
they should, they don't try to talk about things, and most of all a human don't see worth in another
human body as they should. Passion is a huge key to a healthy relationship. If a relationship was not

For the steel bar, large amounts of green wire is sent to a factory. The wire is drawn to the correct

I sunk into the warmth of his side, appreciative of the simple gesture. We stayed like that until
someone started opening the scratched, and dented door, which had chipped brown varnish, and a
brass colored lock and door knob dulled with age and greasy fingermarks.
It's Mrs. Bunt.
She walks through the officer door, makes her way over to the her desk, and sits primly in an old
wheely chair, legs crossed and fingers intertwined over one knee. She sat with all the grace of a sack
of wet cement. Her body seemed to conform to the shape of the easy chair, even her face seemed to
slacken and sink as if pulled by invisible strings gently downward.

How cool is Coolsculpting? The Pros and Cons
When it comes to effortless fat loss treatment Coolsculpting is a new kind of technology that is a fat

Theme Of Women In A Doll's House
How the Need for Independence Contributed to the Failure of Marriage in Ibsen's A Doll's House
The play, A Doll's House, was written by Henrik Ibsen in the year 1879. In this time period, men and
women were not equal. The main protagonist, Nora, had decisions decided for her throughout her
life. At a certain point, she realized it was time for her to seek independence. This search for self–
sufficiency caused many issues in her marriage.
From early on in the play, it is apparent how submissive Nora is to her husband, Torvald: "You
haven't any idea how many expenses we skylarks and squirrels have, Torvald"(14). He uses pet
names such as "squirrel" and "spendthrift" to address Nora, comparing her to feeble animals. These
are metaphors that Ibsen uses to display how most women were treated in this time period. They
were seen as objects or fragile little animals that needed the protection of a man. Nora goes along
with these names and even refers to herself as them in order to please him and get what she wants,
which is usually money. Torvald is controlling and possessive when it comes to Nora, but she
doesn't know any better because her dad treated her in a similar manner. She's the mother of three
kids and a woman, so work is not a realistic option for her. This is another reason why she's so
dependent on Torvald for money.
Although Nora was a naive seeming young woman, she did yearn to feel independent as well. When
speaking with her friend Mrs. Linde she often boasted about

The Old Testament Research Paper
Love is very prevalent throughout both the Old and New Testaments. Some can say it has evolved,
while others say it has only strengthened to be greater love for God's people. In the Old Testament,
there are around 12 various Hebrew words meant to recognize love. Each word also has its own
meaning for the context of which it is used. Romantic love as is used as one of them. A prime
example includes Jacob and Laban. Jacob desired to marry Rachel because of her beauty and
requested to work for Laban for seven years in order to obtain her hand in marriage (Genesis 29).
This is a prime example of romantic love. Even though he loved Rachel, Laban required that he
marry Leah first because she is the oldest. That being said, Jacob did what he had ... Show more

The exposure of love is used in the Greek word "Agape" (Sakenfeld, 2006). "Agapao" is the verb
form of the noun "agape". The word is distinctive in this framework because it appears to have been
basically created by the Christian church because it does not appear in classical Greek at all (Wuest,
1997. The New Testament constantly expresses the love that God has for humans. If it were not for
this love, things would not be the way that they are today. The term also comprises the conception of
unrestricted love. The writings of the New Testament stood to strengthen the idea of love from the
Old Testament. It was always understood that man might and more than likely would die for God.
But the idea that God would die for man seemed to be unprecedented and unheard of in the name of
love. Love throughout both testaments is something that did evolve, but in a stronger sense of the
world. It was always going to exist, but how it was spoken about in the New Testament was built on
the strong foundation of the Old

Lust In Romeo And Juliet Essay
Romeo and Juliet; a classic tale that sparks debates over what took place: a timeless romance, or a
deadly infatuation. The play is also one of Shakespeare's most renowned and praised works from his
career and has stood the test of time, which is impressive seeing as the play is over 400 years old as
of today. The play is seen as a testament to the ultimate love story that ended with the deaths of the
main characters Romeo and Juliet, but for the people who have read the play, there are many pieces
of evidence that prove that the play is actually a story of lust between two teenagers. In fact, one of
the main points that is argued over is whether true love or immaturity played the more significant
role in the events of the Tragedy of Romeo ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The fog rolled over the barren land like a thick blanket. The emptiness spread for miles with only a

nothing spiked my memory. It was the same landscape as if I had been walking in circles. I had no
idea who I was. I didn't know who my parents were, I didn't know where I lived or where I was
born. I only knew two things, My name was Laurel Davis, and I was murdered.

inside. The room was a hazy black with little light. It had only a keypad and a mirror. I turned

dumbfounded. "Where was I" I thought, "What on earth could this mysterious land be?" I was rather

Drug And Alcohol Rehab Facilities Essay
Why People Shy Away From Drug And Alcohol Rehab Facilities In Florida
It is very unfortunate that lies, half–truths, and gross misinformation do not only travel faster but
also live longer in people's minds than the truth. This is why myths and stereotypes will continue to
thrive. A lot of people will continue to shy away from drug and alcohol rehab facilities in Florida
because of misinformation, misrepresentation, and misconception.
Here are the commonest reasons why addiction patients often refuse to seek help from drug and
alcohol rehab facilities in Florida even though they are in dire need of the help.
Possibility of stigmatization
Some people believe that both addiction and rehab are fraught with stigma from the society. The fear
of being branded an ex–addict prevents them from going to any of the drug and alcohol rehab
facilities in Florida. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The stigma is not real. It is perceived. Besides, even if the stigma really exists, is it not better to be
an ex–addict than to die an addict? Besides, people who really love you will love you and respect
you even more for taking the courage to seek help. It is those who do not like you that will make an
issue out of it.
Sometimes, it is important to know your value. Do you know that surviving addiction puts you in a
good position to help and counsel addiction patients? This is because you have been there and you
know how it feels. Besides, you are a source of hope and motivation to addiction patients. You stand
as a testimony that being addicted to substance is not the end of one's life. Unfortunately, you can
only achieve that status if you survive addiction and you can only survive it if you seek help now.
So, if stigma prevents you from seeking help, what will happen to those that should have used your
survival as a source of hope, inspiration, and motivation? With your continuous refusal, you will not
only be putting your life in danger, you will also be putting so many other lives in

Character Analysis Of Iago In William Shakespeare's Othello
Iago is a very complex and manipulative character. This is what makes him a great villian.
Throughout the play, he carefully weaves his web and ensnares all the characters in his trap.
The root of Iago's malice is Othello not choosing him as his liutenant. He then enlists Rodrigo
who wants the affection of Desdemona to help him. He conspires a plan to take down Othello.
His plan was to get Cassio fired from his job. Iago accomplishes this by using Cassio's
weakness, alcohol. Cassio gets drunk and starts a commotion in town, which Othello comes
and handles the situation by firing him. The next part of his plan is to then make sure that Othello
sees that Desdemona and Cassio are getting close. He tells Cassio that in order to get his job
back, he has to seek help from Desdemona. He does as he is told and he asks Desdemona for
help. He uses Cassio to be Desdemona's love interest in order to get to Othello, knowing that
Othello loves Desdemona. In the play, it is stated that Cassio is a lady's man and he can handle
the ladies. So in Othello's mind, it may not be so shocking that Cassio would do something like
that. As Othello and Iago are talking, Othello sees that Cassio and Desdemona are talking and
when he approaches them, Cassio swiftly leaves. Parts of his plan was to plant thoughts into
Othello's mind that Cassio and Desdemona are having an affair behind his back.
The suggestions work because in one of the acts, Othello collapses not being able to handle all the
stress in thinking about Desdemona with another man. Another example of this working is in Act
4, Scene 1, Othello gets so upset with Desdemona he slaps her and embarasses her in front of
a guest. Act 4 is Othello completely losing all his sense of reasoning and turns into an
unreconizable person. Iago convinces Othello that the best way to solve all his problems was to
get rid of it entirely. Iago tell Othello that killing Desdemona is the answer. Othello lost in self–pity
and no reasoning left in his mind, agrees. Othello tells Iago, he will kill Desdemona and he
desposes Cassio. Iago's plan works and in the end, Othello and Desdemona die.
Iago's character is brilliant. Manipulation is a huge part of

B: Married with a person that loves me so much, but I don't love him at all.
I would rather choose B in hopes I might love him in return one day. One of the lucid reasons is
because unrequited love is such a pain. Unrequited love is the most painful love of all. I've ever been
in the position where I was dating someone I really loved, but he didn't love me at all. It was such a
waste of time. And I don't want that thing to happen again in my life. Because why exposing
yourself to pain, suffering, and lead a miserable life? We all don't deserve that.
In this case, I have a man that loves me so much. If he loves me so much, he will show his affection
to prove that he truly loves me. He will always deem me, be there for me and contrive his time for
me. By feeling of those affections, I might love him in return, because he has already vanquished
my heart. Even if he's not a stupendous person, or not a sagacious person, or an indolent person, I
think it doesn't matter as long as he's a benevolent person and he has

Hamlet, By William Shakespeare

  • 1. Hamlet, By William Shakespeare Hamlet, a play written by William Shakespeare, is all about revenge. All is not well in Denmark where a king is murdered and his son is out to avenge him. The only two females in the play, Gertrude and Ophelia, are completely overlooked. The two have little role in the story and are only present when talking to one of the men. Gertrude lost her first husband and quickly remarried to his brother, Claudius. Her son, Hamlet, greatly despises her for it. Ophelia believes that she and Hamlet are in love and she is the cause of his madness. None of the men pay much attention to them unless they are being scolded or used in a plan. Ophelia and Gertrude have many similarities like how they do as they are told and are victims of Hamlet's madness, yet are different like how they love Hamlet and how they react to death of a loved one. Throughout the play, Gertrude and Ophelia do exactly what the men tell them to do. Neither Gertrude nor Ophelia do anything without getting an okay from the men. Ophelia always listens to her father. When Polonius tells Ophelia to stay away from Hamlet, she does as she is told. Ophelia says, "No, my good lord; but, as you did command, I did repel his letters and denied his access to me." (Shakespeare 2.1.120–23) She does this even though, just moments before talking with her father, she tells how she loves Hamlet and Hamlet loves her. Gertrude also does as she is asked. Polonius tells the king and queen about his theory on why Hamlet is mad. He asks the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. The State Of Dignity George Santayana once said, "Our dignity is not in what we do, but what we understand". The term dignity is defined as a state of being worthy of honor or respect and self–respect. Dignity is an important characteristic to have. Without dignity, one does not have the strength and self–respect needed to do what is best for them. My cousin, Dianna, is dignified because she handles herself with grace, she walked away from a toxic relationship, and she responds to hate with love. Dianna handles herself with grace. She only wears clothing that portrays her as a proper lady. Her closet consists of pencil skirts and blouses. Dianna has fantastic manners, which help her maintain an aura of grace. She is likely to help someone in need before she helps herself. Dianna always speaks nice words. She is a firm believer that words reflect the soul; she uses her words to enlighten ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While it is difficult to not return the feelings, Dianna chooses to respond to hate with love. If someone says something rude to her, she says something nice back. She is nice regardless of what they say or do. Dianna understands that it is common for someone to hate, so she forgives them. She will forgive someone even though their actions or words were deliberate. Most importantly, Dianna ignores their hate. She finds that it is easier to simply ignore someone who is negative and focus on the positive people. Dianna is a dignified person. She handles herself with grace. Dianna always dresses like a lady, has the best manners, and speaks nice words to help her keep her grace. Dianna walked away from a toxic relationship. This was very brave of her to do as it can be scary to leave a part of your life behind. Finally, Dianna responds to hate with love. She has methods of keeping her life positive. • 7. What Is Love In A Midsummer Night's Dream Essay "Love is like a friendship caught on fire. In the beginning a flame, very pretty, often hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering. As love grows older, our hearts mature and our love becomes as coals, deep–burning and unquenchable." –Bruce Lee Love. It is an internal sense of passion that grows in one's body and soul eternally and to be mutual is so impeccable for two hearts. It's a special emotion in our hearts. Nobody knows what exactly causes love and why it happens in a moment of our lives, yet love can open doors to many possibilities in life. It is giving up everyone, anything and everything to be with a person and choosing that special individual over anyone else no matter what. It is a person who you can cherish your heart ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this play, the characters handle betrayal well. At some scenes, it's like oh!.. she lover him, and he loves her, but at other scenes it's like nevermind I like someone else... sorry! It can be quite confusing, just like how teens handle their relationships. Shakespeare, firmly conveys the reader that "love is an obstacle course" and sometimes things will not turn out the way you want it. Nobody. I mean NOBODY loves when their heart gets broken. It just feels like someone has just stabbed you through your soul. Breakups usually never end up well. It is like a little piece getting lost and aboarding another ship, while the other piece had set sail and you can't ever meet up again. Love, in most cases, betrays one's feelings. This idea is clarified when egeus states "Full of vexation come I, with complaint Against my child, my daughter Hermia.– Stand forth, Demetrius.–My noble ... Don't marry an Arab man because he is going to do things his way, take things at his pace. He won't tell you a decision without making his mind because he is probably a rational decision maker as he is being informed and informed again and again that he needs to fill in the shoes of the right respectable family man. • 11. Persuasive Essay On Commitment In Love You are a man eater, right? You are a fun lay, a good night, but commitment is not for you. You are fierce independence and unavailability. You prefer your own company because, you annoy yourself, but when you're alone at least no one else has that power. When did this become who you are? Did you get hurt? A million times? Just once? Was that too much for your heart made of tender flesh? What made you this person? Are you afraid? Are you just terrified because you fall in love with someone the instant they do anything that makes your heart drop? To combat the possible pain, you swear you do not love anyone or anything at all. If you cannot be the person who does not get heartbroken once a week then you are going to be the person who does not have a heart to break. Cold exterior, dark edge, you never let anyone closer than ten feet to you. You maintain your mystery and posterity by making sure no one ever crosses you. The best way to do that is by establishing your firm "no bull" policy early. God knows you are terrified. You want to be the person with your heart on your sleeve. You would love to be someone who believes in the sentiment of "it is better to have loved and lost than never loved at all" but you cannot bring yourself to do it. You cannot handle the destruction. You cannot bear the weight of having to rebuild yourself every single time. You cannot carry the cross of your own fragility. People ask about why you are like this. They ask why you haven't found anyone. You say something like "my standards are just really high." On some level, that is absolutely true. You will not let just anyone in, if you are going to stop shooting them down before they have a chance, they really have to be something special. The problem is not that you do not let just anyone in, you just do not let anyone in. The scary part about being a damaged heart is that when you meet someone new, your defenses are at an all–time high. Constantly on ready to run, always testing to see if they can handle your damage. You push away before anyone has a chance to get close. Some make it, though. It takes a while but you start to believe them when they say they are there to stay. You tell them you are a storm and they say they love ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Comparing Two And The Love Of My Life Eerie, emotional pain, an unbearable sadness. These are feelings being felt nationally on February 13, or National Breakup Day. The love two people once shared turns into a sudden loss. How a person recovers from a loss is truly up to him or her and his or her mindset. In the novel, Two by Two by Nicholas Sparks, and the short story, "The Love of My Life" by T. Coraghessan Boyle, the underlying themes deal with falling in and out of love and dealing with the loss (Rice). To understand the background of these two elements, the reader should first develop a thorough understanding of what love and loss are, what inspires the author's writings, and how the main characters portray love and loss. In his newest novel Two by Two that "centralizes around conflicting romances," Sparks uses "the power that only love can achieve, to resolves conflicts and live happily ever after" (Baron). Russell makes it clear to Vivian that they need to cut spending a bit to save up and provide their child with the best life possible. This creates arguments between the two and Vivian distances herself from Russell. She soon leaves Russell to start a high–end job in a different state. At this point, Russell is trying to create his own successful insurance firm while adjusting to his new life as a single father. He realizes that his daughter, London, is "just as much his world as he is her world" (Ray). He becomes a successful insurer and he and London live happily together: however, Russell is still haunted by how quickly Vivian left him and hopes London will never do that same. • 15. Analysis Of The House On Mango Street We, being humans, are constantly faced with trials and hardships. There are times when we want to escape from embarrassment, failure, and just reality itself. In the novella The House On Mango Street, Sandra Cisneros reveals to us that when we are faced with complicated scenarios, we tend to want to escape and run away from it all. In the book, we are shown the desire to escape from a variety of characters. Throughout the novel, it is easy to see that a significant theme of the novella is that sometimes, when we are faced with trials and complicated situations that we don't believe we can handle, we feel a need to escape from the reality of it. This is revealed through some of the many vignettes: "A Smart Cookie," "Red Clowns," and "Linoleum Roses." In the vignette "A Smart Cookie," Esperanza's mother is telling her the reason why she decided to quit school. "Shame is a bad thing you know, it keeps you down," She said. " You know why I quit school? Because I didn't have nice clothes. No clothes, but I had brains." Shame controlled her mother because she wanted to escape the feeling of not fitting and the embarrassment that came with it. She felt that she couldn't fit in, therefore, she dropped out even though she was a "smart cookie." She had the potential to do something great, but she let all of that go because she didn't have nice things like all the other kids. She felt that she stood out and she wanted to be like the rest. That is what life can do to you if you're not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I grabbed the last box from the house and left out the door dropping the keys off with the landlord who was standing outside of our door. I hustled to the moving truck, dropping off the box and shutting the back doors. As my mom and I left the driveway I waved out the window to lucy– the landlord who has been our landlord since I was born. (14 years ago)– and I turned around, placing my headphones on my head. My mom (who was driving) rolled her eyes. "All teenagers do is listen to their music," she said thinking I couldn't hear her. "Actually, I am listening to a book, thank you very much," I stated as I took off my head phones. I think I scared my mom. We giggled. I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Then it stopped and the door popped open and a figure jumped out at me, Whispering "creutzfeldt" in my ear. It had a raspy, low, voice. But before I could see what it looked like, I woke up. "A–A–A!" I screamed while throwing my head phones off, "what just happened?" "Oh my gosh jacy are you okay?" My mom said while swerving on the road a little. I must have scared her. "Oh it's nothing mom, just a bad dream." Something that weird hasn't happened since last year when that box full of glitter gave me "powers". I thought. When we arrived at our new house we unpacked all of our things from the moving truck and into the house. "I'm going to go check out the upstairs, okay?" I said already half way up the stairs. "Alright, I'm going to go move the truck out of the road," my mom told me from the door. I darted up the other half of the stairs skipping a few. The first thing I noticed was the master bedroom. It had a huge bed area with a gigantic bathroom, balcony, even a wlk in closet that you could litterally walk in, it was about 50 ft deep and 20 ft wide. It even had a mini hall way that led into a smaller room. I think it was a little sitting area. After I checked out the guest bedroom I went ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 19. How Can Love Be Long Lasting? To death do us part. A common phrase that is said right before two people are married. Most people don't understand what this phrase means when they accept. Love isn't defined to whom it is but what qualities it defines. The divorce rate is rising each day due to these misunderstandings. In the United States the divorce rate is about 50%. Complications in the relationship lead to a downfall in love. People in general don't look in the future to see themselves with the same person. How can love be long lasting? Providing love isn't something that is made up in one day. Love takes time and commitment from both parties. Most successful relationships are spontaneous and romantically ready. Little things like bringing the spouse roses every Friday. Just keeping that spark alive is what marriage is about. Some parent's aren't as enticed with love letters like Bonnie Smith–Yackel "My mother never worked"Pg 95. Her parent's kept the light sparking between them. When marrying into a relationship sharing is caring. The relationship is built on shared interests and values. Each spouse could bring love or hate into the marriage. How they handle each others emotions is entirely up to them. Sharing something like a house or an account takes a lot of trust. It takes months, even years to build this much connection to a person. Losing all the trust that built up only takes one lie or slip up. Couples dont always help each other not like Bonnie Yackel "My Mother Never Worked"Pg 96. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 48. Theme Of Women In A Doll's House How the Need for Independence Contributed to the Failure of Marriage in Ibsen's A Doll's House The play, A Doll's House, was written by Henrik Ibsen in the year 1879. In this time period, men and women were not equal. The main protagonist, Nora, had decisions decided for her throughout her life. At a certain point, she realized it was time for her to seek independence. This search for self– sufficiency caused many issues in her marriage. From early on in the play, it is apparent how submissive Nora is to her husband, Torvald: "You haven't any idea how many expenses we skylarks and squirrels have, Torvald"(14). He uses pet names such as "squirrel" and "spendthrift" to address Nora, comparing her to feeble animals. These are metaphors that Ibsen uses to display how most women were treated in this time period. They were seen as objects or fragile little animals that needed the protection of a man. Nora goes along with these names and even refers to herself as them in order to please him and get what she wants, which is usually money. Torvald is controlling and possessive when it comes to Nora, but she doesn't know any better because her dad treated her in a similar manner. She's the mother of three kids and a woman, so work is not a realistic option for her. This is another reason why she's so dependent on Torvald for money. Although Nora was a naive seeming young woman, she did yearn to feel independent as well. When speaking with her friend Mrs. Linde she often boasted about ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 66. Character Analysis Of Iago In William Shakespeare's Othello Iago is a very complex and manipulative character. This is what makes him a great villian. Throughout the play, he carefully weaves his web and ensnares all the characters in his trap. The root of Iago's malice is Othello not choosing him as his liutenant. He then enlists Rodrigo who wants the affection of Desdemona to help him. He conspires a plan to take down Othello. His plan was to get Cassio fired from his job. Iago accomplishes this by using Cassio's weakness, alcohol. Cassio gets drunk and starts a commotion in town, which Othello comes and handles the situation by firing him. The next part of his plan is to then make sure that Othello sees that Desdemona and Cassio are getting close. He tells Cassio that in order to get his job back, he has to seek help from Desdemona. He does as he is told and he asks Desdemona for help. He uses Cassio to be Desdemona's love interest in order to get to Othello, knowing that Othello loves Desdemona. In the play, it is stated that Cassio is a lady's man and he can handle the ladies. So in Othello's mind, it may not be so shocking that Cassio would do something like that. As Othello and Iago are talking, Othello sees that Cassio and Desdemona are talking and when he approaches them, Cassio swiftly leaves. Parts of his plan was to plant thoughts into Othello's mind that Cassio and Desdemona are having an affair behind his back. The suggestions work because in one of the acts, Othello collapses not being able to handle all the stress in thinking about Desdemona with another man. Another example of this working is in Act 4, Scene 1, Othello gets so upset with Desdemona he slaps her and embarasses her in front of
