Condemnatory Diction In The Rattler
1. Condemnatory Diction In The Rattler
"What if" is something one asks oneself after a tough decision. They ask each other what would
have happened if they had chosen another path; would they have felt better or worse. In the short
story "The Rattler", a man questions whether or not to kill a rattlesnake who had no intention of
attacking him. He thinks hard about the situation. At the end he decides to kill him and is left with
the thought of "what if". Throughout the story the author presents a conflicted man, an ethical snake,
and a tranquil setting to cause the reader to feel empathy along with anger towards the man and
sympathy towards the snake.
The author uses arrogant tone, condemnatory diction, and the man's point of view to cause the
reader to feel betrayed and disappointed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The author portrays the snake as calm and intuitive with an approving tone to get the acceptance of
the reader. When the man finds the snake, it was waiting to see the man's "intentions" in "calm
watchfulness" . It did not even start "rattling yet". The snake wanted to see what the man would do.
It did not want to attack first without knowing whether the man was going to. Hurting the man was
something he was opposed to. The snake was calm and careful, making him honorable. The
audience is pleased with the snake's noble decision. It makes the snake seem like the victim because
he wanted to make certain he was in danger. This causes the reputation of the snake within the
reader to go up. Portrayed as righteous by a sympathetic diction, the reader feels pity and pleased by
the snake. When the man comes back with a hoe, the snake had "not moved", but rather stayed still
like a "live wire" when he "saw the hoe". He did not move because he knows people do not want to
mess with him and he does not want to trigger a fight. He is dangerous only if someone were to
provoke or try to harm him. He will not attack unless he is forced to. This makes the snake seem
virtuous. The reader feels very proud of the snake for being honorable, instead of the man, thus
making the snake have a better moral conduct. This gives the reader more sympathy, towards the

3. Group Case Study: Binge Watcher
Binge Watchers
Please, no group project; I am not ready yet to work with a bunch of native speakers. I mean, I can't;
I won't be able spell their names correctly. Please God, don't do this to me; I promise, I will be a
better person from now on. These are the exact words I said at the moment I realized we will be
assigned a group project. I was terrified about what I would do if I couldn't understand what they are
talking about, or what I would do if they don't understand my terrible pronunciation. However, there
wasn't any escape of doing this; I will mess up sooner or later, so hear me out guys! I am an
international student from Turkey, taking my general education classes, living here by myself...This

I bet you all know that cartoon Coyote and the Road Runner. I am the miserable Coyote, who will
never be as fast as the Road Runner. But wait a second, I am smarter and more hard–working than
the Coyote, so maybe there is still hope for me; furthermore, maybe speaking as good and fast as
you guys is not the only way to get things working. Music, Netflix, loving dogs, wanting to have a
career that serves society and having loved ones are the things we have in common. Having shared
interests is just what we need to work things out, and don't forget we all have that ultimate shared
thing, which is called

5. Analysis Of Disney Cartoons From Disney
I watched all of THE BOOZE HANGS HIGH, RED HOT RIDING HOOD, MONKEY DOODLE,
FAST AND FURRY–OUS, and AN OPTICAL POEM. These animations were very different from
the likes of Disney. I noticed that almost all of these animations were meant for adults definitely not
children. I also realized that the animation styles were different from Disney. Pigs drinking booze,
Red Riding Hood as a burlesque singer, lustful monkeys looking at naked female monkeys with
proper human anatomy, Road Runner being blown to smithereens by Coyote. Just think about all the
scenes I just described. Would you want your children being exposed to these things? I believe most
commendable parents even nowadays would say HELL NO!! I was baffled and surprised at how
cartoons of this time were not meant for kids. This seemed so backward to me, growing up watching
LOONEY TOONS as a kids show. I think that cartoons started this way due to the people who were
going out to the movies and watching these cartoons were adults. Adults don't want to watch
cartoons that appeal to children when they are on a date or trying to get time away from their kids.
In contrast, from Disney, the competition saw an untouched market. Disney quickly began to focus
their cartoons toward children. The competition, on the other hand, marketed to a more mature
audience. Making studios like Warner Brothers have a lucrative stake in the animation business. The
hilarity of it is that these days THE LOONEY TOONS cartoons are kid friendly they won't even
show the episode where Elmer Fud kills Bugs Bunny. The fact that the competitor's studios decided
to aim for a more mature audience shows me two things. The first is the studios did not believe they
could compete head to head with Disney. Lastly, it shows that the studios were not scared to create
cartoons that were lewd. In essence, the competing studios handled their published animations in a
business–minded way. They decided not to compete head–on with Disney but to offset themselves
from Disney's audience and reach the audience that made and held the money. In PLANE CRAZY
no background is the same. In MONKEY DOODLE and FAST AND FURRY–OUS, we observe the
same background scene used more than once in a scene that

9. Wile E Coyote: Modern Day Trickster Essay
What is a trickster? A trickster typically breaks the creeds of the divine or nature, most of the time
this is doomed maliciously, but sometimes with positive results. More frequently than not, the rule–
breaking will capture the pattern of tricks, or thievery. Tricksters are generally cunning, foolish, or
perhaps both. They are usually very funny even when they are scared. In diverse cultures the
trickster and humanizing hero are often merged in one. Tricksters are particular to their own
cultures. However, tricksters are naturally bound by undeniable attributes no matter what their
religion is or what culture they have come from. It is thought that all of us have some type of
trickster within us, whether it may be conscious or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Today many of these tricksters are seen as cartoons, characters in movies, and real life people. Some
of the most famous tricksters known today are Lady Gaga, Bugs Bunny, George Bush II, and Wile
E. Coyote (Only Words, 2010). However, this list goes on and on and varies from culture to culture
with many other names added to it.
Although it is a cartoon, Wile E. Coyote is a famous trickster. Wile E. Coyote is notorious for
consuming his entire day and night with attempting to overtake the infamous road runner. His
trickery is in the usage of various contraptions and bait to try to snatch the road runner. Wile E. may
be a trickster, but his tricks never work out, generally only slightly missing the road runner. They
intermittently fail on him and practically always injuring himself, allowing his prey to get away
(Windling, 1995). This continuous stalking seems to be one of the most intense pursuits ever
manifested. The buzz of the road runner resonates throughout people's minds as they see this
suspiciously swift bird that flings debris as he accelerates along the terrain. What makes this coyote
a trickster you may ask? There are many qualities that categorize him as tricksters commonly know
to all. First, Wile E. is extremely mischievous, and manipulative. He is always searching for ways to
trick the road runner into one of his traps. Only Wile E. will go on such a quest to catch this
particular road

Thanksgiving Day was first celebrated in colonial times in the New England. When the Pilgrims
landed their ships at Plymouth Rock in the year 1621, they needed the help of the neighboring
Native Americans to learn how to plant crops and grow food. After they had completed their first
harvest, the Pilgrims had a feast with the Indians (Native Americans) to celebrate their friendships.
This was called "The First Thanksgiving." Thanksgiving is still celebrated every year on the fourth
Thursday of November, usually with a feast of turkey, stuffing, corn, mashed potatoes and other

13. History of The Mustang II Essay
More than 22,000 Mustangs were ordered on April 17, 1964 when it was first released by Ford.
Show rooms were visited by more than four million people and there were over 2,600 ads in
newspapers. In 1974, the Mustang II began. Buyers loved it since it was smaller and had a weaker
engine. This would use less fuel during the fuel crisis. Sales had tripled since the year before. It also
was easier to drive because of its rack–and–pinion steering. In 1978 Mustang added many fashion
features that would appeal to female buyers. The rear seat was divided into two seats even though it
had been a single seat in the years before. Along with many new colors there were also pockets in
the door handles, illuminated driver vanity mirrors, and "Fresno ... Show more content on

One of the best selling small engine cars was a Ford Mustang. The way a muscle car engine sounds
is also a big part of what people like about it. A classic muscle car has that rumbling sound that tells
other drivers to watch out. If the engine isn't making a steady sound there is something wrong with
it.
The 2012 Dodge Charger was a big improvement since the previous year. With a new Hemi engine
that produces 45 more horsepower than the year before, this was the most powerful Charger ever
made. When the roof of each cylenders combustion chamber in an engine is hemispherical, it is a
hemi engine. On the other hand, the 2012 Chevrolet Camero did not change as much as the Dodge
Charger did, but it did improve a little. In 2011 the engine had 312 horsepower, in 2012 the Camero
had 323 horsepower.
The 1960's was a big time for muscle cars, and the Plymouth Road Runner was one of the best. It
was great on the street and even better on the race track. In 1976, Plymouth made a big mistake,
they made a new Volare Road Runner that wasn't even as close to as good as the others. Its engine
only had 160 horsepower and it rusted so much that Plymouth had to recall it. Another car that didn't
do so well was the Delorean. Even though it was a big hit in Back to the Future, the actual car didn't
meet standards. The 1980 to 1981 Delorean DMC–12 might have had gull wing doors and the body
panels might have been stainless steel, but compared to five other sports cars it was the slowest

15. Harassment Towards Women Playing Educational Sports
Sports have always been an intrical part of America's culture and society, from playing baseball in
the front yard to knocking a homerun out of the ballpark, but this playing in the fields only applied
to boys. Unfortunately, before Title Nine was established in 1972, there was a great deal of
harassment towards women playing educational sports. This new amendment to the Civil Acts,
broke down the barriers for women, and demanded proportionality between men's and women's
athletic programs. Due to the way of society 35 years ago, Title Nine was necessary for women to
receive equal rights in educational sports. Title Nine, an act passed in 1972, prohibits discrimination
in all areas of education and provides equality for both men and women in education systems.
However, Title Nine is most importantly known for its athletic achievements and endeavors. This
federal law, in regards to educational athletic programs, states that "no person in the United States
shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be
subjected to discrimination under any educational program or activity receiving federal financial
assistance", according to the Forum of Public Policy. In other words, females are allowed to play in
sports in educational athletic programs and receive the same equal opportunities and treatment as
male athletes. Separate teams must be provided for males and females, otherwise both shall be
allowed to try out for the same team.

21. Roadrunner Research Paper
The world is full of birds designed by God to survive. Some birds live in water, some in air and
some on land. One of the birds that live on land is the roadrunner. The roadrunner can be found
throughout Texas and the surrounding areas. A lot of people that watch the Road Runner cartoon
have an idea of what a road runner is that may not be true. For instance, the road does not have a
long slender neck and is not purple. It is also not a huge or tall bird. The roadrunner's speed,
physical appearance and diet make them a well designed bird for survival in the desert.
Roadrunners are very fast running birds with a speed of at least 15mph. They got their name from
being seen running along the road in front of horse drawn vehicles. They are faster than bicycles and
can catch prey easily. When they run they hand their head low so that it's head and wings are parallel
with the ground to help them run faster. They use their tail for balance and turning and to help them
stop. The long tail is perfect for balance and can help the roadrunner dodge a carnivorous bird's
grasp easily. The road runner also uses its speed to catch prey when hunting. For example, when it

females, and also the males have the crest on their head. The dark brown feathers help them

23. Generation X Argumentative Essay
Day after day I sit and watch the shocking news of the current events occurring around the world. I
wonder how people's minds have developed, the way they comprehend, and what words emerge
from their mouth when they finally speak. I believe my thoughts, morals, and beliefs, are rational
but doesn't everyone? No one sits around and says to themselves, "my thinking is irrational, and I
am crazy for thinking this way." Certain people may believe at a particular moment that whatever
they are doing is appropriate right then, but later realize their rational at that moment was not ok,
like a child stealing a candy bar.

Suddenly watching Bugs Bunny or the Coyote chasing down the Road Runner are no longer
acceptable cartoons because they don't "teach" and in fact, may inflict "violence." Barney, Caillou,
and Dora the Explorer became the norm for cartoon watching because they were educational for the
children. Spanking is no longer allowed because it makes the child feel "worthless" and is a form of
abuse. Every child receives a ribbon, no child is inferior to another, and we no longer yell at them,
but "discuss" and "teach," which of course gives the child the authority to debate the situation.
Unfortunately, it also has led these same teens and young adults to believe that they can do whatever
they want and if they don't like an adult's response to their behavior, they yell abuse. We have
witnessed this happen over and over again with our teachers, with the police and with the
community in general. People used to say that "it takes a village to raise a child, " however, if
anyone, besides the parents, tries to correct a child for anything, that person is cruel, and
"harassing." Again, this shows the difference in how parents raised their children; therefore
Conservatives now call them the "Snowflake"

The 1960s were the golden years for American auto manufacturers such as Chevy, Ford and
Chrysler. With cheap gas prices at 30 cents and the roads open, americans had the need for speed.
The americans need for speed was met by such cars as the Mustang , the camaro, and the super
charged Road Runner. The 1960's automobiles belonged to a distinct decade of automobile history
with the muscle and pony cars.
The mustang was first introduced in April of 1964. The Mustang was one of the first cars to be
labeled as a muscle car.Contrary to popular belief the mustang was not named after the horse, and it
was named after the P–51 Mustang fighter plane. The car was first introduced at the World's Fair in
Flushing Meadows, New York on April 17, 1964 and has been popular ever since. It combines
