About HBL: Habib Bank Limited (HBL) is the first ever commercial bank to be established in Pakistan in 1947. Over
the years, HBL has grown its branch network and become the largest private sector bank with over 1,600 domestic
branches and presence in more than 20 countries across the Middle East, Europe, Africa, USA and South Asia. HBL
has enjoyed a period of strong growth, improving profitability, and an increasingly solid balance sheet. Today, HBL is
the largest, most profitable, and one of the top performing banks in the country.
Impact on me: It has been the most profitable Bank of Pakistan for very many years. HBL has millions of transactions
per day which gives a great learning experience for any of the employee over here. Being in financial reporting gives
you a complete view of financial structure and its related accounting at HBL. For me, its a journey from a trainee to a
manager.

Preparation and implementation of capital adequacy under Basel I, II and III regimes. Regular projections are
provided to the management for better decision making i.e. capital planning, raise in tier 2 capital, improvement of
asset quality, sector to focus on. etc.
Grasp over Credit, Market (interest rate, equity position & foreign exchange risk) and Operational Risk. Being able

Conducted extensive credit "stress testing" exercise mandated by State Bank of Pakistan.

Habib Bank NPA portfolio. (b) Identifying the highly predictive variables by using regression methodology (c)
developing the regression equation to project the Bank’s Capital adequacy and NPA ratio both under the base
case and stress scenarios. (d) Calculating the projected capital adequacy and NPA ratio of the Bank.
I am an active member in the recent ongoing implementation of Misys Fusion Risk (capital calculator) which will be
their first ever capital solution in Pakistan's banking industry. Attended BPA in Dubai with the vendors to give
proper understanding of national discretion and HBL's system structure.
