The document summarizes a magazine aimed at young females aged 9-18. It discusses how the magazine represents this social group through sections focused on celebrities, boys, fashion, and love. It also uses a pink and purple color scheme considered girly colors. The magazine would likely be distributed by a large media company like Bauer Media, which publishes 38 million magazines per week across 15 countries. The target audience is mass market females 9-18 from socioeconomic groups B, C, and D living with parents and in school with interests in boys, love, makeup, fashion, and gossip.
2. My magazine represents a particular social group as it aims to appeal to
young females, aged 9-18. At that age, females are very into celebs, boys,
fashion and “love”. Therefore, I have made separate sections for each of
these to make sure it would appeal to the correct age group. The pink and
purple colour scheme also helps represent my target social group as they
are considered “girly” colours.
3. What kind of media institution
would distribute my magazine.
4. My magazine is likely to be distributed by a large media
institution. Therefore, that is why i chose Bauer media. They
are a large media institution, that is across 15 countries and
publishes 38 million magazines a week. They also publish loads
of music magazines.
6. My target audience would be a mass audience of females aged
9-18 within the B,C,D social groups. They are also likely to be
living with parents, would be in education/students and would
be innocent. Furthermore, their interest are probably boys,
love, make up, fashion and gossip. I have made sure the
magazine appeals to this target audience making the
magazine seem “girly” and by having sections on each of those
interests.
