the paper on “Design and development of EOG signal processing system and its
application in HMI” in M.Tech

PROJECTS
M.TECH THESIS (2014):
Title: Design and development of EOG signal processing systemand its application in HMI
( human machine interface).
Team Size: 1
Description: In this work we have proposed a low-cost electro-oculogram (EOG) acquisition
system that can be used efficiently in Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems. The proposed
system consists of an Op-Amp based EEG/EOG amplifier circuit and microcontroller for analog
to digital conversion and transferring of acquired data to PC. In this system five electrodes are
used to acquire eye blinking, horizontal and vertical eye movements. Electro-oculogram signal
provides an alternate channel of communication between a human brain and a machine or robot
for the people with disabilities which cannot move their hand and/or leg but they can think or
they can move their eyes. In this system, the signals are first captured using EEG surface
electrodes, amplified, filtered and then converted into digital form before stored into PC.

3. B.TECH Project (2011-2012):
Title: Stationary vending machine
Team Size: 4
Description: Vending machines have become an increasingly important distribution channel in
public and private sectors .In Educational institutions and offices stationery vending machine is
of great importance. This System proposes a microcontroller based vending machine that
dispatches A4 sheets, pencil, pen, etc., once the RFID card is read. The users can select the
required item after the card is scanned and collect the item in the output unit. The system is
divided into three parts, the first part deals with the scanning of RFID card which provides
cashless payment. The second one is the programming unit which is implemented using µC. The
third part is the display unit which displays information and delivers the required item based on
the information sent from the microcontroller. An embedded system based vending machine is
designed to achieve a low cost, accurate, and portable machine that can sale the stationery items
automatically
