It is clear that Erin Brockovich contains all seven components of this model, which have clearly outlined her leadership development for the greater
good. The steps in ethical decision–making are as follows: 1. Stop and think, 2. Clarify goals, 3. Determine facts, 4. Develop Options, 5. Consider
consequences, 6. Choose, 7. Monitor and modify (Josephson, 2002). These seven steps are shown in this short scene as well. First Erin thought of
all of the possibilities. Then she realized that convincing Ed to expand the lawsuit is her goal. They determined the facts that it would be a hard

She does this even though many wouldn't even attempt the case because of the high degree of difficulty and the incredible amount of work that needed
to be completed. There is also a challenge when dealing with a large corporation that is lying and covering up the truth.
There are several traits that make an effective leader and the leader must know when to engage these traits in order to be effective. These traits are

integrity, sociability, determination, charisma, confidence and intelligence.Erin Brockovich was very effective at knowing when to engage these traits

Erin also showed her ability to be a leader by displaying different skills necessary to complete the research she needs to finish. She learns to manage
her time and she also learns to manage people and different relationships. Learning to manage these relationships is paramount in order for her to be
successful. So much of what she does involves her working with people and gaining their trust, that she doesn't learn this skill it would be catastrophic

One of my favorite movies that taught me the most about the roles of women in the United States is Pleasantville directed by Gary Ross. The
1950s and 60s have always been an interesting time period within women's history for me. In that time period, women were homemakers where
their job would be to cook, clean, and take care of their families. It is so interesting to me because that is not at all how my family life is now.

As most of our popular culture, everything is always changing. What is in while we are teenagers will be ancient in 10 years. The same goes for
the wardrobes of women. I think that the clothing options have had a positive progression because of the acceptance of female sexuality. In the
early 1920s women were extremely modest by showing little to know skin in their daily lives. Women were expected to be made up all of the time
and that is something that I couldn't even imagine. Being a Marian girl, there is nothing I love more than throwing my hair up every morning with
no makeup. As you move into the 60s and 70s women began wearing skirts, dresses, and girdles. YUCK. There is nothing wrong with a more
modest look, the problem I have with clothing is that even when mothers were cleaning the house they were expected to be in dresses or other types
of uncomfortable, but nice looking clothing. It has been cool to see how slowly skirts have gotten shorter and more skin is being shown, but the
central issue is the mindset of seeing women as sexual object rather than a person. Although in our time no type of clothing is surprising, there is still
a sense of judgement from men and even older women when you wear something that makes your look like a "slut". It saddens me that people really

Steven Soderbergh's "Erin Brockovich" is an autobiography of Brockovich and her involvement in the largest monetary direct–case action lawsuit
within the United States. Despite a lack of formal education and law experience, Brockovich proves to be the key element to winning a plaintiff case
against multi–billion–dollar industry, Pacific Gas and Energy Company (PG&E).
Often, law is recognized as a tool that ultimately provides justice; however, it also holds the power to silence others. In this film, PG&E ultimately have
a greater voice than the plaintiffs despite the mass effect of the actions of the company. The plaintiffs reside in the quaint Californian community of
Hinkley where it is discovered that PG&E are responsible for great amounts of industrial groundwater contamination. Accordingly, Michael Asimow and

Erin Brockovich was a poor, jobless, single mother with three children. In the beginning of the movie, her car was hit by a surgeon. When she goes to
court, the surgeon's lawyer accuses her lying and trying to steal money from the wealthy doctor. The lawyer uses Erin's status as a poor, single,
twice–divorced mother in order to make the jury believe that she is lying. Furthermore, the surgeon's lawyer talks down to her because she is a woman
and dresses in tight, skimpy clothing. The overarching problem in the movie was the contamination of the water in Hinkley, California. The water was
contaminated by a substance called chromium VI by the water company, PG&E. Chromium VI is highly toxic to human beings and the company,
knowing how toxic it is, dumps it into the water that the residents use. When Erin finds out about the chromium VI in the water, she begins by bringing
it to the attention of the families who may have been affected by it.
Regarding this, Erin takes an objectivist approach, knowing that the chromium levels are too high and could potentially (and already did) cause

The film 'Erin Brocovich' , directed by Steven Soderbergh is a movie narrative based off of true life events. The biographical film, follows the life of
a single mother, who is financially unstable by the name of Erin Brocovinch. Erin works as a law firm and her ultimate goal is to uncover and expose a
company that is practicing dangerous and unethical behavior. The movie touches on many unethical issues and focuses on negativecorporate social

was incarcerated as soon as the movie started because she got into a bad car accident that was not her fault and needed to pay medical bills. She

search she got into an auto accident and was injured. Erin has an ethical and moral responsibility to feed her children so she forces her lawyer Ed
Masry to give her a secretarial job after he failed to get her a settlement from the auto accident. Erin has difficulty fitting in at the firm, the other female

She continues to do things that only lawyers are permitted do, such as give advice to clients. However, Erin does so in a way to earn their trust
and becomes friends with many of the residents. This proves to be a pivotal point in keeping up the morale of the people when they begin to feel
like the lawyers are failing them. In their first meeting, Donna told Erin that PG&E had paid for doctors' visits for the whole family. However,

The movie Erin Brockovich is based on actual events that took place in Hinkley California, which is a small town that was effected (and continues to
be effected) by the highly toxic pollutant, "hexavalent chromium" also known as "chromium 6". This toxic pollutant leaked into the drinking water
used by the residents in the small town. This leakage occurred as the result of routine operations from a plant owned by the company Pacific Gas &

However the main conflict is an external dysfunctional conflict between Erin and her co–workers. This type of conflict does not benefit anybody in the

In this case, PG&E deceived the entire town of Hinkley by allowing them to believe that their water source was safe. Deception was clearly
portrayed throughout the film, with a particularly good example toward the beginning of the movie. The film described how PG&E held a
meeting with 200 people from Hinkley to explain the benefits of PG&E using chromium 3 at their plant. Chromium 3 is similar to hexavalent
chromium (or chromium 6), however the deception is clear when the film goes on to show that PG&E was not actually using chromium 3 at their

This representative is perceived to be a heartless person who is not taking responsibility for the damage his company has caused to families like
the Jensen's in the community of Hinckley. Another example of the company, and therefore business world, being rightfully portrayed in a

In this scene, Erin Brockovich was crossing her vehicle at a four way intersection, and as she reached the middle of the intersection, an expensive

Erin, a single mother at 33, is the protagonist in the film. She is shown struggling to find work to support

nonverbal rule did I break? I wore less than appropriate attire to a funeral showing. One of my cancer patients lost her battle with her disease. I
learned of the viewing the day it was taking place. Due to the time and location of the viewing I went directly from work to the funeral home. The
short notice did not allow for me to bring a change of clothes or go home prior.
How did I break the rule? The rule was broken by wearing the inappropriate attire. Even though viewings are expected to be slightly less formal than
the actual funeral there is still a level of expectation of others. The expectation of someone being dressed in business casual. I would not expect to see
someone in their jeans and a t–shirt or shorts at a viewing. I was still in my work clothing which appropriate for the job task, no appropriate for the
moment. Myself and my nurses wore our scrubs to the viewing because we all had similar situations that would not allow for attire change.
