Sintered mullite brick is manufactured with raw material of high bauxite clinker, adding a small
amount of clay or bauxite as binder, then through solidification and sintering. The high
temperature property of mullite brick depends on the content of alumina and the evenness of
mullite phase and glass distribution.
With the chemical composition and special manufacture method, mullite brick has many
excellent features such as dense structure, high refractoriness which can reach to 1790 ,℃
refractoriness under load is between 1600 and 1700 , cold crushing strength is between℃ ℃
70MPa and 260MPa, low permanent linear change on reheating and good thermal shock
stability.
Mullite bricks are mainly applied to roof of hot air furnace, body and bottom of blast furnace,
regenerator of glass furnace, sintering kiln, Sulfuric cracking furnace and Fibrous glass
furnace.
