What is the Muslim Brotherhood?
The Muslim Brotherhood is a group trying to say that Islam is not just
a religion, but it’s a way for people to live their lives. Mr. Morsi is a part of
that group. They want people to return to the rules of Quran, and have a
good life. They want to reject the use of violent means to reach that goal, but
the critics blame the Brotherhood for the trouble that’s been happening in
The Middle East. A lot of people think that the Brotherhood are the leaders
of modern militant Islamism.
The two key pillars according to the Muslim Brotherhood Deputy are
the introduction of Islamic Sharia the basis for controlling the affairs of state
and society, and working to unifiy Islamic states and countries.
It was formed in 1928 by Hasaan al-Banna. They did it because they
didn’t want the British controlling them anymore and saw them as
corrupting the Islamic ways. Their slogan was, “Islam is the solution.”
