Breakout EDU is a
tool for students to
practice 21st century
skills such as:
Collaboration
Communication
Critical Thinking
Problem Solving
Breakout EDU gives
teachers the opportunity
to allow students to push
aside the textbooks and do
something different.
One of the many great
qualities of breakout EDU
is the engagement it
provides.
 Step 1: The teacher sets up breakout in the classroom.
 Hides Keys, Boxes, and Required Mystery Items
 Step 2: The teacher introduces the students to the game and
explains rules.
 Step 3: Players have a set amount of time (45 min)to solve a
series of challenges, riddles, and mysteries in order to break
out.
 Step 4: The teacher may review how teams did not breakout if
unable or answer some of the questions.
 Teachers may provide hints.

 This game provides students
with the opportunity to
improve 21st century skills.
 It is instinctive for students
to work together during this
activity. This is not a game
students can do individually.
One student may have a
clue that needs another
students clue to solve the
mystery.
