Difference Between Private And Private Education
A choice that all parents encounter when their children reach the age to go to school is whether to
send them to a private or public school. Some believe that private institutes do a better job of
educating children because parents are paying out of pocket for their children's education and that
their children will be more sheltered from becoming influenced by other children. Therefore, they
are more able to focus on their education and less distracted from the outside world. However most
believe that public schools do a better job at educating children. Preparing them for higher education
and the outside world. Along with giving them better resources to succeed. The greatest difference
between public and private institutions are that private schools are not required to follow as strict of
curriculum as public schools. As a result of this, private or charter schools may modify their
curriculum to their teachers and student body. This isn't necessarily a negative thing except when
children turn sixteen they need to start taking standardized tests; ACT, SAT, PSAT, and ASVAB, for
college. A Stanford study shows that 37% of charter schools scored lower than public schools. Low
test scores are not something that should be taken lightly. Private schools often offer after school
tutoring for these students. This results in their students scoring at the average threshold for
standardized tests. Yet, public schools rarely offer extra tutoring, which supports the idea that public

Extranet : A Private Network
An extranet is part of a company's internet that can be used outside of the company by employees,
client's suppliers or vendors, so they are able to communicate within the company in a private
virtual space. Extranet can be purchased from an application service provider, who can update and
maintain the software for the company (Rouse, 2004). Extranet is considered to be a controlled
private network that allows others to gain some of the company's private information; it is a part of a
company's internet that is extended to outside uses (Shofield, 2010). Today most companies use
extranet even–though it is expensive to maintain and security can also be an issue when sending
valuable information, but with a firewall in place can help a company with having important

Stereotypes Of Private School Students
I first became a private–schooler when I attended pre–school at age 4 and maintained this group
until my senior year of high–school. Throughout my twelve plus years of a private education, I have
seen and heard nearly every stereotype, both complimentary and derogatory, accurate and erroneous,
as well as, prejudicial and supportive. Private schoolers are typified by false stereotypes just as any
other minority group is. For example, private school students are expected, by society as a whole, to
be successful and intelligent by default. Yet, there are some stereotypes that hold true, such as the
majority of private school students hold academic achievement as paramount alongside respect and
courteousness to others. Private school students are generally students in a family with a high
socioeconomic status and parents with a college education or higher. At large, society tends to typify
private school students as conceited, haughty, and arrogant. While this is true for some private
school students, it does not describe the majority of students of these students in an accurate light. I
was placed in the private school environment by my parents at age 4, and by my own personal
decision, I decided to continue until university. This decision was made in order to raise me in a
safer and more controlled setting, and personally, to remove as many negative influences as
possible.
Due to the frequent discussion of superiority between the two schooling methods, much research has

Pros And Cons Of Private Colleges
In America, children of all ethnicities, and religions have attended different schools. As a child
graduates, high school, it is time to prepare for college, and step out into the world. Over the course
of the last few years, there has been some controversy about whether a child should attend private,
or public college. High school students should decide with their parents, or guardians whether to
attend private, or public college. A private college is a university that has funding coming from
tuition, investments, and private donors. A public college is a university that has funding coming
partly from state taxpayers. Private colleges are a sockeroo for some people, but others have their
differences. They are better than public colleges. However, there are pros and cons. The pros for
private college are academic excellence, there is a close–knit community, involved students, top–
notch professors, merit scholarships, and the class sizes. With academic excellence, the curriculum
is more rigorous, and the course–work benefits your success. Some of the top private universities in
America are Ivy League schools. Many of these includes Columbia, Harvard, Princeton, and Yale
University. The close–knit community helps with any communication issues, and there can always
be someone around to help you. For example, if a student is walking to his or her dormitory by
themselves, and there may be a mugger nearby, since there are several people around, they can be
there to guide, and

Difference Between Private And Private Colleges
Public vs. Private Colleges
Many people struggle with selecting a college today because there are so many options. Choosing a
college can be a tough decision, but when you are selecting a college, you should look for one that
offers your specific major. This will help you narrow down your options and help you decide on the
college that is right for you. Some people prefer state universities, while others prefer private
colleges.
Students who attend public universities in their state of residence are given the opportunity to
receive education through the funding of state governments. This is why the tuition is lower at
public universities. On the other hand, private schools don't receive funding from the government.
They rely on tuition and private contributions, and that is why the tuition is higher. If you attend a
public university that is out–of–state, the tuition will go up. An example of this would be at Mankato
State University, in–state tuition is $18,127. If you are out–of–state, the tuition will go up to about
$25,870. Even if you choose to go to a university that is out–of–state, the cost would still be lower
than a private college in most cases.
When you are looking at schools, there are many factors you should consider, including whether you
would like to stay in–state or go out–of–state. Generally, public universities will have more in–state
students, whereas private colleges will have a more diverse selection of students. Because private

Public Schools And Private Schools
Schools have been around since the 18th century; starting with private schools and then public
schools came around in the 19th century (Kaplan and Williams, "American Education"). From there
how to get an education has drastically changed. There are several types of schools that you can put
your child in; homeschool, virtual schools, advanced placement schools, Charter schools, private
school and public school. The top options are public schools and private schools. There are different
considerations you have to take in to choose the best school for your child; cost, average class size,
development of social skills, bullying rates and graduation rates. We will hit on each of these topics
further, as well as discuss the other schooling options to help you decide the best school for your
child. So, between public and private schools and the other non–traditional options; which is the
best option for your child?
One of the top considerations parents take into account when looking at what type of school to put
their child in is cost. The consideration of cost can be the deciding factor when it comes to putting
your child in public school over private school. In the United States the average annual cost for
sending your child to a private school is $8,411 for elementary and $12,900 for high school. The
cost then varies even more by state. In Washington the average annual cost for private school is
$8,877 elementary and $10,525 for high school. In Idaho the average annual cost

The Private Sector
1 Introduction
The main objective of the private sector is to earn profits and become a leading organization in their
line of business. To enhance this objective, most of the private sectors have embraced technological
advancements where business is operated online. E–business is one of the current advancements
where a business can advertise, market and make sales through the Internet. The business has to
share its information online to attract a large pool of potential customers. Most of the business
websites operates on intranets and extranets. Customers can only gain access to business
information through the extranet. Authorized users can access most of the crucial and confidential
information of a business through the intranet via an encrypted link. Thus, the business can secure
its confidential information and protect its customers.
2 General Business Goals
With the rising cases of cyber threats, businesses are at risk of losing their confidential information
to unauthorized users. To deal with this menace, the lawmakers should address these issues through
promoting the understanding of the risks associated with cybercrime. They should also be involve in
acknowledging and addressing the cultural aspects of cybercrime as well as developing a
collaborative approach towards an effective response to the menace (Boneh & Franklin, 2003). One
such private sector is Amazon. Amazon is a private company in America that deals with electronic
goods. The company was started as an

Synopsis
The debate that includes public vs private education is a very unique debate because around half the
people choose Public while the other half chooses Private. Canada has many different religions
which results to many parents to choose whether they should send their kids to private school or to
send them to public schools. Sending them to public schools makes it easy for them because they
don't have to take out extra cash cause it's already payed through their taxes. Sending them to
Private school means they have to pay extra which sometimes can be difficult for low income
parents. Both Public and Private school have many benefits but the teaching are different.

Difference Between Private And Private Sector
Introduction :
The most basic distinction between public and private organizations is that the political community
own public agencies whereas ownership of private organizations belongs to entrepreneurs or
shareholders.
However, there are many other differences between public and private organizations. The funding
for public agencies derives mostly from taxation, which contrasts with private agencies receiving
funds predominately from consumers in the form of fees. In the public sector, organizations are
largely controlled by political forces, which also results in the imposition of constraints by the
political system. Subjection to constraint results in frequent changes in policies within public
organizations. The owners and shareholders of private organizations have a direct incentive to
monitor the behaviour of managers to promote better performance and financial gain.
Summary
The development of the private sector and its expansion in all spheres of society increasingly
emphasizes the attempts to alleviate the differences between the public sector and the private sector.
The collaboration of these two areas demonstrates their interdependence and their role in the overall
functioning of the national economy and of society as a whole.
The widespread use of private sector methods and theories on organizing the management process
points to the fact that private sector ideas can be transferred and can be used in the field of civil
service. It is believed that through

Career Profile of a Private Investigator
A private investigator is a person who can be hired by a person or company to carry out
investigative law services. Private investigators usually work for attorneys in civil cases. Many work
for insurance companies to investigate doubtful claims. Before the introduction of no–fault divorce,
many private investigators were hired to search out evidence of adultery or other misconduct in a
marriage on worthy grounds for a divorce. Even though this is not a legal necessity anymore,
according to reports collecting evidence of adultery by significant others are still one of the most
profitable actions investigators take on. The early history of criminology is also largely a history of
people taking matters into their own hands. The public was distrustful of uniformed police officers.
Very quickly, hard–working citizens seized the opportunity to provide services that police were too
busy to provide. Many of these services were led by former police detectives and were sometimes
viewed as direct competitors with regular law enforcement. However, their services were still used.
Today, private investigators are much different from their fictional depictions. They are, however,
essential for the services they provide, from fighting fraud, to finding missing people and detecting
crimes. Private detectives work in diverse environments for many types of clients. Individual
investigators typically have a specific field such as a forensic computer investigator or a forensic
accountant, or

There are a lot of reasons you may want to hire a private investigator, but once you decide on doing
this, the problem you will face is how to go about finding a good private investigator agency in San
Francisco. The following are a few good tips to help you.
Make sure the firm is licensed
Anybody can call themselves a private investigator, but here in the state of California, it is a
professional occupation that requires a license, and the license does not come easy. Getting a license
means passing a state examination. However, before you can take this examination, you must first
record over a thousand hours of investigative work. The nature of this work is specified in the
licensing requirements and includes working with a licensed private investigator or working in
certain areas of law enforcement. An investigator, practicing in the state of California, will have a
license number that you can double check with the licensing board.
Check their references
A private investigator is not only a professional, but works with other professionals such as claims
adjusters and attorneys. They will have a well earned reputation that they are protective of and will
always conduct themselves professionally. This means that there will be references from companies
that have used the their services as well as private clients. Names and contact ... Show more content

Usually it is the large firms that offer the broadest range of services. Smaller outfits may have a
specialty, so if you are looking to hire a smaller company, you need to make sure your requirements
fit their specialty. However, some private investigators who have been in business for many years
may still offer a wide range of services, but this is only because of their extensive experience in
investigation over the course of many

About 42% of Nigeria's independent funds are sourced mainly from US and European government
and aid agencies, 17% from local banks, 25% from local pension funds, and
15% from partners and other sources. In Nigeria, institutional investors are reluctant to invest in
private equity. A large reason for this is might be lack of familiarity with the private equity asset
class. In the short term, Nigeria may see increased commitments from US and European government
and aid agencies is most likely, however foreign pension funds are not likely to be significant source
of commitments.
Investments
Private equity investments in CAPE portfolio companies grew from approximately $5 million in 5

with different opinions when deciding between private and public schools. Our country is a country
of contrasts, economically, socially and geographically. Education is the action or process of
impacting knowledge to another (Merriam Webster) with trained teachers, good books, updated
technology and a high–quality curriculum. The public schools are institutions open to all kinds of
students without monthly payments. For example, children with low income recourses, children
with special needs (Handicapped, MR condition), aggressive behavior, learning disabilities and most
of the times these institutions accept children whose English is not their native language. Students
wear civilian cloths and they are not required to purchase any type of uniform. Most of the time
parents do not have to pay for meals provided in schools or pay for any extra class given by the
school. However, several of the schools ask the parents to buy school supplies with the purpose of
having a productive school year.
Second, private schools are institutions which are managed with the money of those parents who can
afford the high cost of each month. Parents not only pay the high tuition fees but also should have to

Pros And Cons Of Private Schools
Introduction
"Education inherently serves both public and private interests. It addresses public interests by
preparing the young to assume adult roles that promote civic responsibility, embrace a common set
of economic and political values, and share a common language. Education serves private interests
in promoting individual development, understanding, and productivity that contribute to adult
productivity and wellbeing." Levin (2001).

Many people are biased either towards public schools or private schools. According to a 2009 poll,
one out of four parents are currently considering to switch their child's education from private to
public or vice versa due to the economy (GreatSchools Staff, 2015). There are several advantages
and disadvantages of private school as compared to public school. One of the advantages of private
schools is the smaller class size. Having less students in a class allows the teacher to focus on each
student individually. It also allows the teacher to be closer to the students and learn more about
them, therefore forming a bond between the teachers and students which makes learning more
effective (Lawrence, 1997). Private schools also have better access to educational technologies. An
elite private school in Andover, United States called Philips Academy is one of the schools that uses
a wide range of educational technology. The school has launched an initiative to provide their
students with a tablet computer in 2013, and they are integrating software application into courses
like computer science and statistics, this initiative also provide students the opportunity to access

Difference Between Private And Private Education
Public Education Versus Private Education Most subjects or areas of expertise include some type of
debate or disagreements. Within, the area of education, there are a plethora of issues that are
currently being discussed and debated as well as many issues that are age–old debates. In education,
a matter that has always peaked my interest is the debate between private and public education. This
is a rather broad topic that encompasses a wide range of material including, which type is generally
preferred, as well as which type shows better performance and preparedness rates. Some believe that
private schooling is an overall better quality of education due to its high costs, however some
believe that public school teachers are more qualified to do their jobs, due to their more thorough
experience and education. Therefore, this leads many to believe that if public school teachers are
more experienced, public schooling is better. There are people that have a neutral stance on this
topic, however most people do have an opinion or lean toward one side slightly more. This topic
interests me as it discusses two main types of schooling and therefore it provides me with a better
and more educated outlook and understanding, rather than just maintaining a one–sided view, as I
have only attended private schooling. I chose this topic as I felt that it heavily pertained to my
studies which are education and psychology, therefore through this paper I can learn more about

The Community And A Private University
College. It is interesting how such a simple word can enlist a multitude of different emotions.
Nervousness, excitement, and fear are just some of the emotions people face when they think of
college. The most challenging aspect of college starts at the beginning where one has to select a
college which is the best suited for them, a process that is known to be daunting and stressful. One
has to answer what seems like a thousand questions before they can even have a handful of
candidates to select from. With so many options and questions it is easy to feel overwhelmed during
the process, nevertheless every prospective student has to undergo the process if they are looking for
a higher education. Selecting between a community and a private university is probably one of the
most overlooked, yet vital parts of the process. Community colleges allow for people to be proactive
with their finances while still gaining a notable education, whereas private colleges draw people in
with their exclusivity and quality. Although private and community universities differ financially,
socially, and academically, one can obtain the same or even greater level of education and student
experience from a community college rather than a private. Imagine having a freshly brewed cup of
coffee in the morning for just ten cents. Sadly, a cup of coffee today goes for about three dollars,
almost three hundred times what it used to be fifty years ago and the same goes for college tuitions.

Difference Between Private School And Private Schools
There has always been a large debate between private and public schools. Even though this
argument has been going on for a long time, no one can seem to figure out which is the better
choice. Some of the main things people tend to focus on when comparing and contrasting the two
types of schools are tuition, academic environment, curriculum, athletics, and how the students are
disciplined. Each of these is equality important in their own ways to people when choosing what
school they think is best for them. The first topic, which is very important is tuition. Tuition is a
crucial part of making a decision for school because that's where the money comes in. Academics
are also one of the main factors in choosing a school for a good education is the whole reason why
people usually attend a certain school. Next are athletics may not be the deciding factor, but for
some people they base the school they want to go to off of how well the school's athletics are doing.
Lastly discipline is also sometimes considered because the possible attendee might want to know
how the students are punished. Out of all of these different topics to consider when choosing a
private school education comes out on top for all of these because of the smaller school environment
and a more in depth attention to detail when dealing with students. Tuition is a big factor when
considering a school someone wants to go to. The main difference between public schools and

Private or Public School?

Abstract
In today's society, receiving a good education has become of the utter most importance. The real
choice that is being faced now is what type of schooling program kids should be sent to. Should it be
private school, with smaller class sizes or public school, where the massive attendance count tends
to make kids learning last on the lists of priorities? The obvious choice should be where the kids
have better opportunity to thrive, and this would be at private schools. Since there is not an over
whelming amount of kids in attendance there is not only greater opportunity to learn, but the
children are what comes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The issue of where to send one's child for schooling has recently become a growing problem in not
only America, but around the globe. Why should parents send their children to a school they must
pay extra for, when there are schools funded by the government and their taxes? Part of the answer
to this question can be found inside of the question: public schools are state funded. This means that
schools will be littered with thousands of other students, and not allow for enough focus on actually
teaching the kids (West & Woessmann 2008). The reasoning behind this ties into the issue of over
population in schools that are unable to accommodate the growing number of college–bound
individuals. The high influx of students causes the student to teacher ratio to skyrocket through the
roof (Chen 2011). It is shown that "proper student to teacher ratio count is about 12:1," however, in
most public schools Chen (2011) states that the more common ratio averages to about 45:1. A rising
query of educators is what true problem is there with having a higher ratio. Answering this questions
requires a few things to be taken into consideration. In a classroom sized at forty–five students, at
least two will have an attention disorder, and three more will have a more prominent learning
disability, such as "dyslexia" (Chen 2011). These specific students

The Benefits Of Private Education
When discussing Private Education, the first thing that comes too most individual's minds is money.
You need money to be able to send your child through a private education, and most of the time, the
cost is not minimal. But what if I told you that putting your child through the private education
system would make your child more money in his or her lifetime versus that of a public education?
Are our public school kids being left behind or do these students have the same resources and
opportunities that a private school student would have? This paper will cover all these topics, as I
will be discussing the advantages to private education as opposed to public, as it will also entail
opposing view points on why other believe public education has the same opportunities. There have
been countless articles discussing these topics, from academic to non–academic, which will be used
as sources throughout the duration of my article.
In this article, "Does Private Schooling Increase Adult Earnings?" Winter and Berger explained the
financial advantages that private education entails for the student later on in life. Throughout the
article there were many different researched methods stated and graphs and tables to represent
different statistics that confirmed their argument. As it did go to show that there are significant
positive effects for white females more so than males. "The significant positive effects for white

The dissent's argument was that if the Program is not delivering an "education" by North Carolina
standards, then it is wrong to characterize it as a "public purpose." The majority opinion leaned
heavily on the inferential logic that education will always serve a public purpose, and, therefore, the
Program obviously qualified as a public purpose because it claims to serve an educational goal. The
dissent stressed that the majority missed a critical step in determining whether the Program could
constitutionally qualify as a public purpose. Justice Hudson noted that, "while students enrolled in
private school may be receiving a fine education," in the eyes of their parents, "if taxpayer money is
spent on a private school education that does not prepare them to function in and to contribute to our
state's society, that spending cannot be for 'public purposes only.'

Benefits Of Private School Education
How important is it for you to provide this for underprivileged students?
It's huge for me to help all kids, kids are our future if we give them all the tools they can do anything
they want in this world. For me, it's trying to put kids in the right situation, and give them the
opportunity to succeed in whatever field they choose.
Did you have many educational experiences such as the one that you're currently providing growing
up in SC?
I went to a private high school, my parents received help from a lot of anonymous donors that I'm
truly grateful for. It's cool that I'm in the position to help kids do the same thing that was given to
me.
How was the educational system for you growing up before you went to private school?
It was rough, I went to public school up into seventh grade my parents felt like private school was
going to help me be a better leader so they stressed a private school education. It was a dramatic
change for me, but I needed it for college, and for after college.
What's the difference between Public and Private School?
It was different, in Public school you have everyone from your neighborhood, and the surrounding
neighborhoods, it was fun, but going to private school is different, you have all these types of kids
from all over Charleston that were all about their education. It was a huge change for me and it took
me a while to adjust, but looking back it was the best decision that I made.
Do you think that if

The Pros And Cons Of Private Schools
Utilizing Private Schools Wreck Public Schools No one thinks twice about whether or not a child
needs an education. As children grow, parents must decide what route to take concerning education.
The options include, but are not limited to, sending children to a private or a public school. Deciding
which type of schooling depends solely on personal preference. The argument 'If You Send Your Kid
to Private School, You Are a Bad Person' by Allison Benedikt, argued that sending children to
private schools ultimately depletes actions to achieve what is best for the students. Although,
Benedikt's piece uses premises, and personal testimonies, overall the argument presented is lacking.
Premises
If this article was written correctly with factual information, the author would have done well with
major premises followed by minor premises, but the information given is biased. Parents will often
send their children to private schools to make up for the poor education at the local public schools.
To make positive changes in public schools, parents need to send their children there. A premise the
author stated "Parents have a lot of power" (Benedikt, 2013) catches the attention of parent readers,
evidence follows this premise from common, American human beliefs. It is well–known that the
parents of students have major influences on the way public school systems run. More challenging
courses for advanced students, sometimes known as enrichment programs are provided through
money raised

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Private Universities
Do you prefer the public or the private university in Kuwait? This may be a critical question for
many students. Parents may fall under confusion to choose between to enroll their kids in public or
private universities. The parents try to compare the advantages and the disadvantages of those types
of universities and then they outweigh these advantages and the disadvantages. After that parents
choose the type of universities for their kids. Although some parents may prefer public universities
for their free education, many may prefer private universities for their large advantages including;
smaller size than public state universities, and having a reputation for being elite.

Many people prefer to enroll their kids in the private universities to have better employment in the
future. Also, there is a reputation that the private universities help enter the professional and
academic world. Graduates of private universities are always preferred by any potential employers.
This is because graduates of these private universities are supposed to have better education. The
private universities tend to have competitive admissions processes than those of the public
universities (Ban, 2012). So, private universities keep a high degree of academic excellence and
they are reputed by this advantage. The private universities have their great prestige so this helps
graduates in the marketplace. The universities have positive weight in the students minds of the
future potential employers. The employers always like to hire students graduated from private
universities as they know that such universities present highly qualified curricula. These private
universities make students capable of getting good jobs in the future. These private universities
provide with effective classroom resources as well as strong technology (Neil Kokemuller, 2014).
So, the private universities are more prestigious. This may depend highly on the university itself.
This can be an advantage for students if they began to seek jobs after their graduation (Drinkworth,
2014)

Private Schools Vs. Private School Education Essay
There's nothing a parent wants more for their child than to get a great education. The main thing
they have to decide is if they want their child to go to public or private school. Another thing to
consider is, which type of school will provide the best education for their child. However, only some
families have this choice, and others don't. Families that aren't financially stable might not be able to
afford a private school education, even if that's what they would prefer for their children.
From previous experience, I feel as though private schools provide a better education. I do not feel it
is fair to families, or children themselves, that the cost for an opportunity to gain more knowledge at
a faster pace is not available to everyone who would like to take advantage of it. As a child, I was
attending a catholic school up until the fifth grade. Once my mother and I moved to Maryland, we
lived closer to a public school. At this time my mother was single and did'nt have the funds to send
me to a private/catholic school. When I was in catholic school, I had a lot more homework and it
was a bit of a challenge. Once I started going to public school everything that was being taught was
a review for me. I continued going to public school until I graduated and the work never seemed
vigorous enough for it to benefit me or prepare me for college. From my personal experience, I feel
as though a private school education is necessary for children to be prepared for college,

Private Prisons Analysis
Politicians all throughout America accept bribes from private prisons in the form of lobbying and
campaign donations, private prisons support politicians who will ensure their cells remain full.
Private prisons use their wealth and political influence to pass laws that require minimum
sentencing, expand penal labor, and increase punishments for prisoners adding time to sentences.
According to the private prison contractors Corrections Corp of America, in October 2015
California governor Jerry Brown signed a deal that would remove thousands of prisoners from
Federal prisons in California and relocate them to a private prison outside of California, The deal
requires California to fund the prisons with hundreds of millions of dollars at an annually ... Show

As CCA's presence in California has grown they have increased their spending on political
campaigns and lobbying in California, the Huffington Post reports Corrections Corp of America has
spent nearly $290,000 on California campaigns during the 2011–12 election cycle, 8 times as much
from the 2005–06 cycle.10 Since running for governor in 2010, Jerry Brown has taken in $15,000
from Corrections Corp of America, which also spent $50,000 in support of his initiative to raise
taxes, and he received $25,900 from the private prison contractors The GEO Group inc. The GEO
Group also contributed $25,900 to his 2010 Republican opponent, Meg Whitman.11 Spokesman for
Jerry Brown's administration Evan Westrup, said that "the contributions played no role in Brown's
decision to sign the new contracts." The problem with this statement is the fact that there appears to
be no good reason for this deal besides profiting while saving California a little money at the
expense of privatizing the corrections system. Steve Owen, a CCA spokesman, said that "lobbying
allows the company to educate the government about the types of solutions we provide and to stay
current on issues that affect our ability to best serve our partners." The problem is the line between
educating or suggesting is blurred when you begin the conversation with $20,000, then it becomes

Private Label
Private label products or services are typically those manufactured or provided by one company for
offer under another company'sbrand. Private label goods and services are available in a wide range
of industries from food to cosmetics to web hosting. They are often positioned as lower cost
alternatives to regional, national or international brands, although recently some private label brands
have been positioned as "premium" brands to compete with existing "name" brands.
Richelieu Foods, for example, is a private label company producing frozen pizza, salad dressing,
sauces, marinades, condiments and deli salads for other companies, including Hy–Vee, Aldi, Save–

If the private labeled products are really good they will have to return to John's Farm Market if they
want more of that particular product. Another benefit John's Farm Market receives is if someone
gives that private labeled product away as a gift. This introduces another potential customer to the
products carried at John's Farm Market. For this reason private labeling by small companies is a
sought–after marketing plan.

[edit]Advantages of Private label brands
Private label brands are those offered by retailers. There are various advantages for the retailers to
go for private label brands. The advantages include 1. Control over pricing of the product/service, 2.
Put forth own ideas on marketing plans, 3. Create personalized image which in turn leads to higher
customer loyalty, 4. Higher control on production, marketing, distribution and profits, 5. Give their
own inputs, additional materials, logos, tag lines, etc. 6. Customer's changing preference – drive
towards private label products.
These points provide an edge over the other brands. Private label brands are available in a broad
range of varieties from food to cosmetics. These brands help create a personalized and unique brand
for retailers. Retailers with pretty good private label brands will be able to create better sales

The Differences Of A Private School Vs. Private Schools
Public school is a school that is maintained at public expense for the education of the children of a
community that constitutes a part of a system of free public education commonly including primary
and secondary schools. On the other hand private school is a school founded, conducted, and
maintained by a private group rather than by the government, usually charging tuition and often
following a particular philosophy, viewpoint, etc. There are many differences between a Public
School and a Private School, one difference is that in public schools teachers need to be certified but
in private schools they do not need it. Many public schools do a good job of preparing students for
college, but some others do not prepare their students. Private schools don't have to follow state
laws about what to teach. They offer special programs. "There is no doubt that the recession makes
public schools seem attractive. Parents are tightening their belts, and, given the astronomical and
ever–climbing cost of college, it's very tempting to choose a public school over a private school." ...

students simply attend school for more hours in the day than do public school students because
private schools offer after–school programs and a longer schedule." Many private schools also have

Private School Vouchers
I agree with Mark that vouchers divert public money to unaccountable private institutions, such as
charter schools. Most private schools also have the ability to deny admission and still be able to
accept the taxpayer money. Private schools also have the ability to cherry–pick students, unlike
public schools. As we discussed in recitations, private schools are more likely to choose students in
a dual parent household because they believe that those parents are more likely to be involved in
school activities. I believe that public taxpayer money should only provide support for public
schools that are accountable and open for all people. Another reason why I dislike the voucher
system is that vouchers do not actually improve opportunities for

The Pros And Cons Of Private Prisons
Despite what you may think, private prisons have existed in the United States dating all the way
back to 1852, beginning with the San Quentin state prison. Private prisons did not truly become as
common as they are today though until President Ronald Reagan led a large–scale effort for
increased privatization around the United States during the 1980's. One result of this effort was a
large upswing in the number of private prisons. As a result of private prisons becoming more
common place, it has been seen that compared to prisons run by the government, length of sentences
have gone up within private prisons, while at the same time the treatment of prisoners has gone
down. This topic interests me because I believe that it should never be in the best interests of such a
large and powerful group to have as many people as possible in prison for as long as possible. In my
opinion, it is not ethically correct on a basic human level to ever have it in people's best interests to
keep other people in prison. I chose this topic because I have always held a strong opinion on this
topic but have never had the time to do extensive research on it and either confirm or dispel my
current beliefs about it.
According to time.com, it has been found that "inmates held in private prisons in Mississippi from
1996 to 2004 served 4% to 7% longer than inmates serving similar sentences in public prisons." The
true reason behind these longer sentences according to time.com, is that

Pros And Cons Of Private Prisons
For profit prisons are contracted out to the government to help hold convicted criminals. Private
prisons are thought to help save money for states, it also helps with overcrowding. Since America
incarcerates so many people they didn't have space to put everyone. So, they started using private
prisons. But private prisons can be more dangerous than public prisons. The conditions in private
prison are not very good, and there have been many complaints about it. Some people think that
inmates should not be sold for profit. The for–profit prison industry has two main corporations the
Geo and the CCA.
For profit prisons came about because the over populated prisons, they needed somewhere to put
inmates. So, private prisons started and they would house inmates. They also started because they
told people that they would save states money. The Asia–Pacific Economic Blog Organization
https://apecsec.org/private–prisons–pros–and–cons/ provides information on the benefits of private
prisons. It says the main reason that private prisons came about is the because of lower operating
costs. Which is one of the good reasons to have a for profit prison. They can buy supplies in bulk
because they can find the best prices. Government ran institutions are under contracts that do not
allow them to do that. It is also said that quality of care can be better in private prisons. Because
they are in a free market economy, the competition makes them provide good care. And often times

The Challenges of Taking Dell Private
By exploring the possibility of going private, Dell appears to hope that it can finally fix the
problems that have led to a 40 percent plunge in stock price over the last five years.
There's one problem, however: Going private may not be all that easy –– or help out the company in
the end.
The effort is under way, people briefed on the matter have confirmed to DealBook, with Dell talking
with private equity firms and exploring obtaining bank financing. It's unclear how long it will take
to reach a completed deal, though reports have suggested it may take nearly two months.

could be as low as 8 percent. Avoiding the tax man could bolster that return to 31 percent.
(That may less of a problem, according to the investor Wilbur L. Ross, who told CNBC on Tuesday
that the company could sell eurodollar bonds, which may avoid incurring a steep tax charge.)
Dell also had almost $5 billion in long–term debt as of Nov. 2. That means the newly private
company would be highly indebted, though analysts at the ISI Group and Mizuho point out that the
company has respectable cash flow, generating about $3.7 billion in cash from operations during
that time.
The bigger question for the company is whether going private would solve any of the issues it has
faced for years. Its traditional business of making and selling personal computers has become less
and less profitable, and Dell has already been trying to move into the more lucrative and stable
market of providing hardware and software services for corporations. That's not something that
requires Dell to be private, however.
And there's also the question of whether a newly private Dell, forced to spend much of its revenue
on paying down its debt, would have money to invest in its business or pay for new acquisitions.
(Last year alone, the company struck 10 deals, including the $2.4 billion purchase of Quest
Software.)
Mr. Ross said on CNBC that he believed the chances of a deal coming together were about 50–50.
But there's still a lot of work and finagling

Private School Stereotypes
Stereotypes are like a type of infectious sickness that wears down a person's true character, and they
produce a sort of blindness to characteristics that are worthwhile. Stereotypes perpetuate false and
unnecessary judgments, and they devalue humans. When people are placed in a group, they are
limited and marginalized by those making judgments. Any factors such as race, religion, gender, and
personality can be the source of a stereotype, so anyone can become a victim. Stereotypes are
conclusions drawn by people that are heavily influenced by peers, family, pre–existing knowledge,

Difference Between Private And Private Education.pdfDifference Between Private And Private Education

  • 1. Difference Between Private And Private Education A choice that all parents encounter when their children reach the age to go to school is whether to send them to a private or public school. Some believe that private institutes do a better job of educating children because parents are paying out of pocket for their children's education and that their children will be more sheltered from becoming influenced by other children. Therefore, they are more able to focus on their education and less distracted from the outside world. However most believe that public schools do a better job at educating children. Preparing them for higher education and the outside world. Along with giving them better resources to succeed. The greatest difference between public and private institutions are that private schools are not required to follow as strict of curriculum as public schools. As a result of this, private or charter schools may modify their curriculum to their teachers and student body. This isn't necessarily a negative thing except when children turn sixteen they need to start taking standardized tests; ACT, SAT, PSAT, and ASVAB, for college. A Stanford study shows that 37% of charter schools scored lower than public schools. Low test scores are not something that should be taken lightly. Private schools often offer after school tutoring for these students. This results in their students scoring at the average threshold for standardized tests. Yet, public schools rarely offer extra tutoring, which supports the idea that public ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Extranet : A Private Network An extranet is part of a company's internet that can be used outside of the company by employees, client's suppliers or vendors, so they are able to communicate within the company in a private virtual space. Extranet can be purchased from an application service provider, who can update and maintain the software for the company (Rouse, 2004). Extranet is considered to be a controlled private network that allows others to gain some of the company's private information; it is a part of a company's internet that is extended to outside uses (Shofield, 2010). Today most companies use extranet even–though it is expensive to maintain and security can also be an issue when sending valuable information, but with a firewall in place can help a company with having important information from getting into the wrong hands, even though it is a private network, security can be an issue when sending valuable information a company must make sure they have a good firewall in place. • 13. Stereotypes Of Private School Students I first became a private–schooler when I attended pre–school at age 4 and maintained this group until my senior year of high–school. Throughout my twelve plus years of a private education, I have seen and heard nearly every stereotype, both complimentary and derogatory, accurate and erroneous, as well as, prejudicial and supportive. Private schoolers are typified by false stereotypes just as any other minority group is. For example, private school students are expected, by society as a whole, to be successful and intelligent by default. Yet, there are some stereotypes that hold true, such as the majority of private school students hold academic achievement as paramount alongside respect and courteousness to others. Private school students are generally students in a family with a high socioeconomic status and parents with a college education or higher. At large, society tends to typify private school students as conceited, haughty, and arrogant. While this is true for some private school students, it does not describe the majority of students of these students in an accurate light. I was placed in the private school environment by my parents at age 4, and by my own personal decision, I decided to continue until university. This decision was made in order to raise me in a safer and more controlled setting, and personally, to remove as many negative influences as possible. Due to the frequent discussion of superiority between the two schooling methods, much research has been ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. Pros And Cons Of Private Colleges In America, children of all ethnicities, and religions have attended different schools. As a child graduates, high school, it is time to prepare for college, and step out into the world. Over the course of the last few years, there has been some controversy about whether a child should attend private, or public college. High school students should decide with their parents, or guardians whether to attend private, or public college. A private college is a university that has funding coming from tuition, investments, and private donors. A public college is a university that has funding coming partly from state taxpayers. Private colleges are a sockeroo for some people, but others have their differences. They are better than public colleges. However, there are pros and cons. The pros for private college are academic excellence, there is a close–knit community, involved students, top– notch professors, merit scholarships, and the class sizes. With academic excellence, the curriculum is more rigorous, and the course–work benefits your success. Some of the top private universities in America are Ivy League schools. Many of these includes Columbia, Harvard, Princeton, and Yale University. The close–knit community helps with any communication issues, and there can always be someone around to help you. For example, if a student is walking to his or her dormitory by themselves, and there may be a mugger nearby, since there are several people around, they can be there to guide, and ... • 21. Difference Between Private And Private Colleges Public vs. Private Colleges Many people struggle with selecting a college today because there are so many options. Choosing a college can be a tough decision, but when you are selecting a college, you should look for one that offers your specific major. This will help you narrow down your options and help you decide on the college that is right for you. Some people prefer state universities, while others prefer private colleges. Students who attend public universities in their state of residence are given the opportunity to receive education through the funding of state governments. This is why the tuition is lower at public universities. On the other hand, private schools don't receive funding from the government. They rely on tuition and private contributions, and that is why the tuition is higher. If you attend a public university that is out–of–state, the tuition will go up. An example of this would be at Mankato State University, in–state tuition is $18,127. If you are out–of–state, the tuition will go up to about $25,870. Even if you choose to go to a university that is out–of–state, the cost would still be lower than a private college in most cases. When you are looking at schools, there are many factors you should consider, including whether you would like to stay in–state or go out–of–state. Generally, public universities will have more in–state students, whereas private colleges will have a more diverse selection of students. Because private colleges are so ... • 25. Public Schools And Private Schools Schools have been around since the 18th century; starting with private schools and then public schools came around in the 19th century (Kaplan and Williams, "American Education"). From there how to get an education has drastically changed. There are several types of schools that you can put your child in; homeschool, virtual schools, advanced placement schools, Charter schools, private school and public school. The top options are public schools and private schools. There are different considerations you have to take in to choose the best school for your child; cost, average class size, development of social skills, bullying rates and graduation rates. We will hit on each of these topics further, as well as discuss the other schooling options to help you decide the best school for your child. So, between public and private schools and the other non–traditional options; which is the best option for your child? One of the top considerations parents take into account when looking at what type of school to put their child in is cost. The consideration of cost can be the deciding factor when it comes to putting your child in public school over private school. In the United States the average annual cost for sending your child to a private school is $8,411 for elementary and $12,900 for high school. The cost then varies even more by state. In Washington the average annual cost for private school is $8,877 elementary and $10,525 for high school. In Idaho the average annual cost ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 29. The Private Sector 1 Introduction The main objective of the private sector is to earn profits and become a leading organization in their line of business. To enhance this objective, most of the private sectors have embraced technological advancements where business is operated online. E–business is one of the current advancements where a business can advertise, market and make sales through the Internet. The business has to share its information online to attract a large pool of potential customers. Most of the business websites operates on intranets and extranets. Customers can only gain access to business information through the extranet. Authorized users can access most of the crucial and confidential information of a business through the intranet via an encrypted link. Thus, the business can secure its confidential information and protect its customers. 2 General Business Goals With the rising cases of cyber threats, businesses are at risk of losing their confidential information to unauthorized users. To deal with this menace, the lawmakers should address these issues through promoting the understanding of the risks associated with cybercrime. They should also be involve in acknowledging and addressing the cultural aspects of cybercrime as well as developing a collaborative approach towards an effective response to the menace (Boneh & Franklin, 2003). • 37. Difference Between Private And Private Sector Introduction : The most basic distinction between public and private organizations is that the political community own public agencies whereas ownership of private organizations belongs to entrepreneurs or shareholders. However, there are many other differences between public and private organizations. The funding for public agencies derives mostly from taxation, which contrasts with private agencies receiving funds predominately from consumers in the form of fees. In the public sector, organizations are largely controlled by political forces, which also results in the imposition of constraints by the political system. Subjection to constraint results in frequent changes in policies within public organizations. The owners and shareholders of private organizations have a direct incentive to monitor the behaviour of managers to promote better performance and financial gain. Summary The development of the private sector and its expansion in all spheres of society increasingly emphasizes the attempts to alleviate the differences between the public sector and the private sector. The collaboration of these two areas demonstrates their interdependence and their role in the overall functioning of the national economy and of society as a whole. The widespread use of private sector methods and theories on organizing the management process points to the fact that private sector ideas can be transferred and can be used in the field of civil service. • 41. Career Profile of a Private Investigator A private investigator is a person who can be hired by a person or company to carry out investigative law services. Private investigators usually work for attorneys in civil cases. Many work for insurance companies to investigate doubtful claims. Before the introduction of no–fault divorce, many private investigators were hired to search out evidence of adultery or other misconduct in a marriage on worthy grounds for a divorce. Even though this is not a legal necessity anymore, according to reports collecting evidence of adultery by significant others are still one of the most profitable actions investigators take on. The early history of criminology is also largely a history of people taking matters into their own hands. The public was distrustful of uniformed police officers. Very quickly, hard–working citizens seized the opportunity to provide services that police were too busy to provide. Many of these services were led by former police detectives and were sometimes viewed as direct competitors with regular law enforcement. However, their services were still used. Today, private investigators are much different from their fictional depictions. They are, however, essential for the services they provide, from fighting fraud, to finding missing people and detecting crimes. Private detectives work in diverse environments for many types of clients. Individual investigators typically have a specific field such as a forensic computer investigator or a forensic accountant, or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

How does a parent choose? Education is undoubtedly is an issue with different opinions when deciding between private and public schools. Our country is a country of contrasts, economically, socially and geographically. Education is the action or process of impacting knowledge to another (Merriam Webster) with trained teachers, good books, updated technology and a high–quality curriculum. The public schools are institutions open to all kinds of students without monthly payments. For example, children with low income recourses, children with special needs (Handicapped, MR condition), aggressive behavior, learning disabilities and most of the times these institutions accept children whose English is not their native language. Students wear civilian cloths and they are not required to purchase any type of uniform. According to a 2009 poll, one out of four parents are currently considering to switch their child's education from private to public or vice versa due to the economy (GreatSchools Staff, 2015). There are several advantages and disadvantages of private school as compared to public school. One of the advantages of private schools is the smaller class size. Having less students in a class allows the teacher to focus on each student individually. It also allows the teacher to be closer to the students and learn more about them, therefore forming a bond between the teachers and students which makes learning more effective (Lawrence, 1997). Private schools also have better access to educational technologies. In education, a matter that has always peaked my interest is the debate between private and public education. This is a rather broad topic that encompasses a wide range of material including, which type is generally preferred, as well as which type shows better performance and preparedness rates. Some believe that private schooling is an overall better quality of education due to its high costs, however some believe that public school teachers are more qualified to do their jobs, due to their more thorough experience and education. Therefore, this leads many to believe that if public school teachers are more experienced, public schooling is better. There are people that have a neutral stance on this topic, however most people do have an opinion or lean toward one side slightly more. This topic interests me as it discusses two main types of schooling and therefore it provides me with a better and more educated outlook and understanding, rather than just maintaining a one–sided view, as I have only attended private schooling. I chose this topic as I felt that it heavily pertained to my studies which are education and psychology, therefore through this paper I can learn more about each side ... • 70. The Community And A Private University College. It is interesting how such a simple word can enlist a multitude of different emotions. Nervousness, excitement, and fear are just some of the emotions people face when they think of college. The most challenging aspect of college starts at the beginning where one has to select a college which is the best suited for them, a process that is known to be daunting and stressful. One has to answer what seems like a thousand questions before they can even have a handful of candidates to select from. With so many options and questions it is easy to feel overwhelmed during the process, nevertheless every prospective student has to undergo the process if they are looking for a higher education. Selecting between a community and a private university is probably one of the most overlooked, yet vital parts of the process. Community colleges allow for people to be proactive with their finances while still gaining a notable education, whereas private colleges draw people in with their exclusivity and quality. Although private and community universities differ financially, socially, and academically, one can obtain the same or even greater level of education and student experience from a community college rather than a private. Imagine having a freshly brewed cup of coffee in the morning for just ten cents. Sadly, a cup of coffee today goes for about three dollars, almost three hundred times what it used to be fifty years ago and the same goes for college tuitions. Now a days ... • 74. Difference Between Private School And Private Schools There has always been a large debate between private and public schools. Even though this argument has been going on for a long time, no one can seem to figure out which is the better choice. Some of the main things people tend to focus on when comparing and contrasting the two types of schools are tuition, academic environment, curriculum, athletics, and how the students are disciplined. Each of these is equality important in their own ways to people when choosing what school they think is best for them. The first topic, which is very important is tuition. Tuition is a crucial part of making a decision for school because that's where the money comes in. Academics are also one of the main factors in choosing a school for a good education is the whole reason why people usually attend a certain school. Next are athletics may not be the deciding factor, but for some people they base the school they want to go to off of how well the school's athletics are doing. Lastly discipline is also sometimes considered because the possible attendee might want to know how the students are punished. Out of all of these different topics to consider when choosing a private school education comes out on top for all of these because of the smaller school environment and a more in depth attention to detail when dealing with students. Tuition is a big factor when considering a school someone wants to go to. The main difference between public schools and private schools when it comes down to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 78. Private Or Public School? Private or Public School? Adrianna N. Pillow Professor SooHoo–Hui February 15, 2015 California Baptist University Abstract In today's society, receiving a good education has become of the utter most importance. The real choice that is being faced now is what type of schooling program kids should be sent to. Should it be private school, with smaller class sizes or public school, where the massive attendance count tends to make kids learning last on the lists of priorities? The obvious choice should be where the kids have better opportunity to thrive, and this would be at private schools. Since there is not an over whelming amount of kids in attendance there is not only greater opportunity to learn, but the children are what comes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The issue of where to send one's child for schooling has recently become a growing problem in not only America, but around the globe. Why should parents send their children to a school they must pay extra for, when there are schools funded by the government and their taxes? Part of the answer to this question can be found inside of the question: public schools are state funded. This means that schools will be littered with thousands of other students, and not allow for enough focus on actually teaching the kids (West & Woessmann 2008). The reasoning behind this ties into the issue of over population in schools that are unable to accommodate the growing number of college–bound individuals. The high influx of students causes the student to teacher ratio to skyrocket through the roof (Chen 2011). It is shown that "proper student to teacher ratio count is about 12:1," however, in most public schools Chen (2011) states that the more common ratio averages to about 45:1. A rising query of educators is what true problem is there with having a higher ratio. Answering this questions requires a few things to be taken into consideration. In a classroom sized at forty–five students, at least two will have an attention disorder, and three more will have a more prominent learning disability, such as "dyslexia" (Chen 2011). • 82. The Benefits Of Private Education When discussing Private Education, the first thing that comes too most individual's minds is money. You need money to be able to send your child through a private education, and most of the time, the cost is not minimal. But what if I told you that putting your child through the private education system would make your child more money in his or her lifetime versus that of a public education? Are our public school kids being left behind or do these students have the same resources and opportunities that a private school student would have? This paper will cover all these topics, as I will be discussing the advantages to private education as opposed to public, as it will also entail opposing view points on why other believe public education has the same opportunities. There have been countless articles discussing these topics, from academic to non–academic, which will be used as sources throughout the duration of my article. In this article, "Does Private Schooling Increase Adult Earnings?" Winter and Berger explained the financial advantages that private education entails for the student later on in life. Throughout the article there were many different researched methods stated and graphs and tables to represent different statistics that confirmed their argument. The dissent's argument was that if the Program is not delivering an "education" by North Carolina standards, then it is wrong to characterize it as a "public purpose." The majority opinion leaned heavily on the inferential logic that education will always serve a public purpose, and, therefore, the Program obviously qualified as a public purpose because it claims to serve an educational goal. The dissent stressed that the majority missed a critical step in determining whether the Program could constitutionally qualify as a public purpose. Justice Hudson noted that, "while students enrolled in private school may be receiving a fine education," in the eyes of their parents, "if taxpayer money is spent on a private school education that does not prepare them to function in and to contribute to our state's society, that spending cannot be for 'public purposes only.' ... • 98. The Pros And Cons Of Private Schools Utilizing Private Schools Wreck Public Schools No one thinks twice about whether or not a child needs an education. As children grow, parents must decide what route to take concerning education. The options include, but are not limited to, sending children to a private or a public school. Deciding which type of schooling depends solely on personal preference. The argument 'If You Send Your Kid to Private School, You Are a Bad Person' by Allison Benedikt, argued that sending children to private schools ultimately depletes actions to achieve what is best for the students. Although, Benedikt's piece uses premises, and personal testimonies, overall the argument presented is lacking. Premises If this article was written correctly with factual information, the author would have done well with major premises followed by minor premises, but the information given is biased. Parents will often send their children to private schools to make up for the poor education at the local public schools. To make positive changes in public schools, parents need to send their children there. A premise the author stated "Parents have a lot of power" (Benedikt, 2013) catches the attention of parent readers, evidence follows this premise from common, American human beliefs. It is well–known that the parents of students have major influences on the way public school systems run. • 106. Private Schools Vs. Private School Education Essay There's nothing a parent wants more for their child than to get a great education. The main thing they have to decide is if they want their child to go to public or private school. Another thing to consider is, which type of school will provide the best education for their child. However, only some families have this choice, and others don't. Families that aren't financially stable might not be able to afford a private school education, even if that's what they would prefer for their children. From previous experience, I feel as though private schools provide a better education. I do not feel it is fair to families, or children themselves, that the cost for an opportunity to gain more knowledge at a faster pace is not available to everyone who would like to take advantage of it. As a child, I was attending a catholic school up until the fifth grade. Once my mother and I moved to Maryland, we lived closer to a public school. At this time my mother was single and did'nt have the funds to send me to a private/catholic school. When I was in catholic school, I had a lot more homework and it was a bit of a challenge. Once I started going to public school everything that was being taught was a review for me. As we discussed in recitations, private schools are more likely to choose students in a dual parent household because they believe that those parents are more likely to be involved in school activities. The Pros And Cons Of Private Prisons Despite what you may think, private prisons have existed in the United States dating all the way back to 1852, beginning with the San Quentin state prison. Private prisons did not truly become as common as they are today though until President Ronald Reagan led a large–scale effort for increased privatization around the United States during the 1980's. One result of this effort was a large upswing in the number of private prisons. As a result of private prisons becoming more common place, it has been seen that compared to prisons run by the government, length of sentences have gone up within private prisons, while at the same time the treatment of prisoners has gone down. This topic interests me because I believe that it should never be in the best interests of such a large and powerful group to have as many people as possible in prison for as long as possible. In my opinion, it is not ethically correct on a basic human level to ever have it in people's best interests to keep other people in prison. I chose this topic because I have always held a strong opinion on this topic but have never had the time to do extensive research on it and either confirm or dispel my current beliefs about it. According to time.com, it has been found that "inmates held in private prisons in Mississippi from 1996 to 2004 served 4% to 7% longer than inmates serving similar sentences in public prisons." Private prisons are thought to help save money for states, it also helps with overcrowding. Since America incarcerates so many people they didn't have space to put everyone. That means the newly private company would be highly indebted, though analysts at the ISI Group and Mizuho point out that the company has respectable cash flow, generating about $3.7 billion in cash from operations during that time. The bigger question for the company is whether going private would solve any of the issues it has faced for years. Its traditional business of making and selling personal computers has become less and less profitable, and Dell has already been trying to move into the more lucrative and stable market of providing hardware and software services for corporations. That's not something that requires Dell to be private, however.
