1. SWOT ANALYSIS

STRENGTHS
- One of my main strengths I discovered from my I prelim activity is organisation. I managed to stay
on top of my tasks and keep up to date to what I had and hadn’t done. This will help me in my main
brief task as if I stay organised it will help me meet my deadlines and put together two successful
magazine covers.
- Another strength of mine is that I am good at independent work, this will help me in my media
coursework as I do not need help of others, except to take my pictures, when making my magazine
cover.
- In addition I have good communication skills, this will advantage me in my coursework as when
coming to getting people to take pictures of for my magazine I will be able to get it done. This will
also benefit me in getting constructive critics and advice from others.
WEAKNESSES
- I think that my main weakness that I came across in the prelim task is the use of technology. I
struggle finding the right programs for each aspect, such as magazine cover and lip sync video. To
improve on my use of technology I have researched and aske other members of my class what
software is best. I have found Photoshop to be the most used in my class.
- Another one of my weaknesses I may face in my media coursework my timings. In the prelim task I
sometimes slipped behind as I did not manage my time well, I spent longer on tasks that I shouldn’t
have such as my lip sync video.
OPPERTUNITYS
- Making magazine front covers for my media coursework will give me the opportunity to develop and
expand on my photography and editing skills. I have not done much work in this area before so I
should learn some new techniques and skills.
- Making my magazine front covers for my media coursework will help me learn more about the
fashion industry, I will be able to learn more about high fashion and how to make a top end
magazine.
THREATS
- A threat I could come across when making my magazine front cover is weather issues if I want to
soot outside. I will most likely want to take picture in an outside setting so I will have to plan around
the weather for my photo shoot.
- Another threat I could face when doing my magazine front covers is that I have to rely on others to
take photos of. I will have to make sure they are willing to do what I want them to in the shoot and
also that they do not drop out or let me down.
