This document outlines a workshop on becoming an active online scholar through research communication and new media. The workshop aims to introduce participants to various online applications and digital tools for sharing academic work and engaging in scholarly discussions online. It discusses concepts like digital literacy and being a "digital scholar" and provides examples of using profiles on repositories, social networks and scholarly profile platforms to distribute research. Specific guidance is provided on setting up profiles, crafting bios, using hashtags and how tools like Twitter, blogs, Mendeley and ResearchGate can help scholars engage online.

This is a presentation made as a part of the psychotherapy seminar: book review series. In my personal oppinion, you should not take every word that is written in the book. Just like most other written things in this world, this should be evaluated and weighed according to the current time and situation. A good decision about parenting should be made, taking into account your own religious cultural and ethnic background, and most importantly the individiual needs of your child. This book does not provide a panacea for child rearing, nor it should be treated as a rule book, but it certainly lays out some basic principles, which shall remain applicable, no matter what tthe circumstances are viz, the need for structure, consistency with regards to parenting, not only in the punishments but in rewards, and how small gratifications and rewards which we do for the children anyways, can be utilized and will go a long way in making good citizens out of them.

recommendations are presented to deepen the knowledge in this area and promote applied research. This study

Improving Workplace Safety Performance in Malaysian SMEs: The Role of Safety ...AJHSSR Journal
ABSTRACT: In the Malaysian context, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) experience a significant
burden of workplace accidents. A consensus among scholars attributes a substantial portion of these incidents to
human factors, particularly unsafe behaviors. This study, conducted in Malaysia's northern region, specifically
targeted Safety and Health/Human Resource professionals within the manufacturing sector of SMEs. We
gathered a robust dataset comprising 107 responses through a meticulously designed self-administered
questionnaire. Employing advanced partial least squares-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) techniques
with SmartPLS 3.2.9, we rigorously analyzed the data to scrutinize the intricate relationship between safety
behavior and safety performance. The research findings unequivocally underscore the palpable and
consequential impact of safety behavior variables, namely safety compliance and safety participation, on
improving safety performance indicators such as accidents, injuries, and property damages. These results
strongly validate research hypotheses. Consequently, this study highlights the pivotal significance of cultivating
safety behavior among employees, particularly in resource-constrained SME settings, as an essential step toward
enhancing workplace safety performance.

Traditionally, publishing your work through journals, books, etc. has often implied
exclusively handing over to the publisher the right to use your article.
Now, with the growing OA discourse the publishers start to meet some of the OA demands
(though basically on their own terms).

Sharing pre- or postprints of your article:
› A preprint is the version of the article submitted to the publisher before it was edited and approved.
› A postprint is the version of the article that was approved for publication, but is not yet in the journal's layout.
Postprints are also defined as the author's final version of an accepted article, i.e. after any corrections by peer
reviewers have been inserted, but before being formatted/given the layout for the journal.

specify (perhaps even on each page) that the posted document is not the final version, as
well as instruct how to cite the posted document.

that they take down papers for which the publisher owned copyright. […] One researcher
who received a take-down request did not want to be named, but told Nature: ‘I hardly
know any scientists who don’t violate copyright laws. We just fly below the radar and hope
that the publishers don’t notice’.” Van Noorden (2014)

Bornmann (2014: 895):
”Altmetrics is a term to describe web-based metrics for the impact of publications and
other scholarly material by using data from social media platforms (e.g. Twitter or
Mendeley)”.
An alternative to the traditional bibliographical metrics (bibliometrics) such as publication
counts or citation counts as featured in Web of Science, Scopus and Google Scholar.
Views, downloads, clicks, notes, saves, tweets, shares, likes, recommends, tags, posts,
trackbacks, discussions, bookmarks, and comments are the potential data being collected.

ALTERNATIVE METRICS
Ward et al. (2015):
Altmetrics are widely used as early indicators of article impact and usefulness.
› Should not be used for measuring good or bad quality research.
Statistically significant association between altmetrics and number of citations (in medical
and biological sciences).
› But the correlation magnitude between altmetrics and citations are unknown.
No signs are indicating that a scholar’s presence in the social media will come to replace
the reputation computed by traditional bibliographic methods.
