Honda Manufacturing of Indiana began production of the all-new 2016 Honda Civic Sedan. This is the most ambitious redesign in the model's 43-year history. Associates celebrated the start of production, which will provide customers with a sporty and efficient vehicle. The Civic is Honda's best-selling model globally and the most popular compact car in the US for nine consecutive years. Honda has invested $97 million to adopt new manufacturing processes at the Indiana facility to enhance quality and delivery.

Associates at Honda Manufacturing of Indiana, LLC (HMIN) today celebrated the start of production
of the all-new 2016 Honda Civic Sedan which will arrive at dealerships nationwide in November.
The all-new 10th
-generation Honda Civic Sedan is the most ambitious remake of Civic in the model's
43-year history. Civic is Honda's best-selling model all-time on a global basis, with cumulative U.S.
sales of Civic since its 1973 debut totaling more than 10.2 million cars. Civic also is the most popular
compact car with individual U.S. car buyers for nine consecutive years1
.

HMIN has invested nearly $97 million during the last three years in the Greensburg facility to adopt
new manufacturing processes and technologies to enhance the quality and delivery of its Indiana-
built vehicles.

this 2016 Honda Civic create new value for our customers," said Troy Niemeier, new model leader
for the 2016 Civic at Honda Manufacturing of Indiana. "We are excited about sharing this labor of

More than 9 million Civics have been produced in North America since 1986, including nearly 4.5
million in the U.S. Since HMIN began production in Indiana in 2008, more than 1.05 million Civics
have been manufactured. Civic is also being built at a Honda plant in Alliston, Ontario, with the new
turbo engine built exclusively at the Honda engine plant in Anna, Ohio.
The Civic sedan is the first in a series of new 10th
-generation Civic models that will include a sedan,
coupe, high-performance Si models, a 5-door hatchback with the first-ever Civic Type-R model for
the North American market, comprising the most diverse and innovative lineup in Civic's 43-year
history.

2. Backing up the new Civic's dramatic and sporty design with new power and efficiency, for the first
time the 2016 Civic will feature two all-new engines – including Honda turbo engine
technology. These powerful and fuel-efficient new engines, combined with a sophisticated new body
and chassis design, deliver incredibly responsive and sporty performance with a higher level of ride
refinement and class-leading fuel efficiency.

production of Civic sedans on October 9, 2008. With employment over 2,300 and capital investment
of $900 million, HMIN manufactures automobiles primarily for the U.S. market, with some Civics

Civic vehicles and last year it sourced more than $2.4 billion in OEM parts from 57 suppliers. HMIN
