It provides brief descriptions of each term and their basic functions on the internet and for digital communication. References are also included at the end for additional information.

6. VOIP
• Also known as Voice over Internet Protocol
• Is a method for delivery of voice
communications and multimedia sessions
over Internet Protocol networks such as the
Internet
7. STREAMING
• Commonly seen in forms of audio
and video streaming
• When a multimedia file can be
played back without being completely
downloaded
8. SOCIAL NETWORKING
• is based on a certain structure that allow
people to express their individuality and
meet people with similar interest
• This structure includes having profiles,
friends, posts, widgets and more
9. URL
• Stands for Uniform Resource Locator
• Previously it was called as Universal
Resource Locator
• Is a specific character string
that constitutes a reference to a resource
10. HTML
• Stands for HyperText Markup Language
• It is the main markup language for creating
web pages and other information that can
be displayed in a web browser
11. WIKI
• is a web application which allows
people to add, modify or even delete content
in collaboration with other people.

markup language or rich-text editor
12. PODCAST
• Also known as netcast
• A digital medium that can consists of
audios, videos, etc. that can be downloaded
online to your computer or mobile devices
13. SOCIAL BOOKMARKING
• Enables users to add, annotate, edit
and share bookmarks online
• It is like saving favorites on your browser
except you’re saving it to a website that
anyone can see
14. WEB FEED
• Also known as news feed
• Can be also referred to as a
syndicated feed
• Is a data format used for providing
users with frequently updated content
