• Enter the U.S. Code citation, if known, and select “citation” from the
drop-down menu

• Enter the name of the act in quotation marks
• Enter the Public Law Number, if known
• Search options: citation, headings, section, at least five occurrences
(keyword search)

5. Public Laws: Search Results
• LexisNexis retrieves the full text of the Act

6. Federal Regulations
• Search options: citation, headings, section, at least five occurrences
(keyword search)
• Select CRF-Code of Federal Regulations
• Place search terms in quotation marks to search for an exact phrase

7. Federal Regulations: Search Results
• Click on the federal regulation citation

8. Search Tips
• Select browse next to the appropriate
source
• Select the relevant title
• To narrow your search, select the “+” to
expand the title and select a chapter
