11. Jordan’s Family Law - searching
Case Search: searches within the Family
Law Reports
Casename: M v C and Calderdale [1993] 1 FLR
505
Citation: [2006] EWCA Civ 551
Assisted Search: searches within all
subscribed content
This exact phrase: legal parent
17. Searching in Lexis:
Choose key terms
These could be a phrase such as:
“separation order”
“care orders”,
“civil partnership proceedings”
“assisted reproduction”,
Lexis always searches words as a phrase, unless you instruct
otherwise and will return results with words in that order.
Or individual words, such as “maintenance”,
parent,
21. Westlaw: Journals
No specific Family Law (other
than Family Law Bulletin) titles
but general journals such as the
Cambridge Law Journal include
relevant topics.
22. Westlaw Search tips:
To search for words as a phrase in Westlaw,
you need “quote marks”
E.g. “separation orders”
Too many results?
Try “Search Within” or add more search terms to
narrow your search down.
25. Material not held by UoG library
