Classified as a frontier market, Kenya is the largest and the most advanced economic entity in

Stage 1: The traditional society:
Kenya is a still in a "traditional society" stage, which is characterized by a rural economy. Nulty
(2012) also averred a pessimistic view of Kenyan current status. According to data from the World
Bank, until 2005, the agriculture sector still trapped about 65 of its labour forces.
As learned in the class, driven by three major components in the Harrod–Domar model, the Kenya's

development can be driven by high domestic savings. Externally, it can be done by attracting foreign
investment.

Within our current report, the tone and language are promoting a negative attitude amongst
employees. As seen in the document's introduction, there is a heavy emphasis on the company's

addition, the language and tone create a situation for misinterpreting the report. Our finance and
accounting staff are understanding a completely different message from the report compared to our

Lately, it is becoming more and more common for companies to report their financials using Non–
GAAP earnings. "A non–GAAP financial measure is a numerical measure of an issuer's historical or
future financial performance, financial position, or cash flow that excludes amounts that are found in
GAAP financials" (SEC, 2002). Non–GAAP earnings are an alternative way of reporting the
performance of a company as opposed to GAAP earnings. Many companies often report non–GAAP
earnings alongside the required GAAP earnings. They claim that non–GAAP earnings more
accurately depicts what the company is going through and precisely shows their financials. A few
common examples of non– GAAP earnings are pro forma earnings, cash earnings, operating
earnings, and EBITA (SEC, 2002). Pro forma refers to earnings, which exclude non–recurring items
(SEC, 2001). It is regularly found that technology startups are responsible for a lot of the use of
non–GAAP earnings because these corporations remove certain items like taxes in their non–GAAP
accounting to turn loss into profit (Young 2013). Because of the lack of standardization and the
potential for creative accounting, it makes it difficult to draw relevant comparisons among

United Nations new attempt to advance the commitment of States and the world community in the

Compare and contrast a child from younger age group with a child from an older age group.
For the younger age group, I observed a 6–month–old, boy infant, called Manden, in my friend's
home.
1. Adult/Teacher Interaction: In an adult interaction, the child I observed were more engaged with
the people around him by infant–directed speech. His mom and I were basically called his name by
rhythm, and he responded to us by smiling and being excited. As I observe in terms of turn–taking, I

He really enjoyed playing the games. I realize that whenever I hid my face from him, his face
looked natural, he was not trying to find where did I go. However, when I appear in front of him, he
smiled and giggled. This is consistent with Manden normative development where he can recognize

5. Social Interactions/Development: There are not too much I expected to see in Manden's social
interaction in my observation. At first, Manden was really attached to his mother. He was afraid
when other people tried to take him from his mother. After a while, he can accept people around him
and did not cry when separated from his mother. He also looked happy when other people keep
calling his name. He has also become more excited when her sister come near him and tried to play
with him. Even though I expected to see more active interaction between Manden and his sister, but
I did not get the chance since he seems to start crying whenever his mother put him down to play.

I learned that the little boy in the green shirt who I chose seems to be very smart for his young age.
The little boy was very vocal on what he was playing with. He does really well when talking about
the toys he's playing with. He can even name each toy he is playing with such as the helicopter, the

Developmental checklists are based off of physical, cognitive, and social categories. Tracking his
physical development would allow me to look at his fine and gross motor skills, cognitive
development would allow me to check his language development, and his social development I
would take a look at his emotional development along with his development of social skills. I would

Planning
In the planning phase, a Project Charter is provided to all management, stakeholders and those with
significant authority over the company. The Project Charter essentially defines the project. It
contains the objectives of the project describing the deliverables, while also containing a description
of the criteria used to assess when each section is completed, risk assessments and identifies
stakeholders and management (Documentation Consultants, n.d.). The Project Management Plan is
also produced during the planning phase. It contains the project's schedule and milestones, required
resources and cost estimations and budgets.
To start off the planning you must study the current system with the people involved (such as
clients, employees or management). These groups would have meetings to discuss areas of the
system that could be improved and suggest possible solutions. In these meetings, agendas are given
out so that everyone knows what the objectives are. Notes are recorded to be reviewed during
requirements analysis.
Also included in the analysis phase is a feasibility study. As the name would suggest it simply
assesses if the new system is feasible within the budget and manpower of the company. (Overton,
2007)

During this stage, teenagers feel they need to develop a sense of personal identity. Success in this
leads to an ability to stay true to who they are, while failure results in role confusion and weak sense

Planning offers effort, direction, persistence and creation of task (Williams et. Al). Where direction
is offered, downtime during confusions or mayhem in the event of the unexpected will be
minimized.
Whenever, a physical or psychological threat or challenge is faced, stress levels tend to scale
accordingly (Gupta 1995). Stress levels can affect performance and behaviours. It may result in
short temperedness, a drop in the quality of work, efficiency and productivity. Personal morale will

It is important for the educator to keep in mind that the child must be seen as the 'whole ' of the child

associated with child development. One major development theory linked with my focus child is the
Jean Piaget theory. According to Jean Piaget, he believes that children are born with a very basic

The focus child for this study is a two year and four month old boy, his name is Tristan. Tristan lives

English. Tristan is a very active child who loves to be in the outdoor environment and he visits the
local park and shops frequently with his mum. Tristan learns by exploring his environment and the
world in which he lives in, play is Tristan 's "work" as he practices and masters new intellectual,
physical, and social skills in his own learning. During Tristan 's outdoor play, I noticed that Tristan
is practising positive behavioural habits and this will benefit him when he begins to attend school.

The Warehouse Group does not do enough charity and community work compared to the Salvation
Army and Waikato–Tainui. In 2013 The Warehouse Group only fund raised $3,035,265 for the local
community. This number may look high but if we compare that with the net profit in 2013, which
was $145,328,000. This means that they are only giving 2.09% of their profit back into the
community. This simply is not enough and needs to increase.
Objectives
The External Reporting Board (XRB) define a not for profit entity to be reporting business which
their main goal is to provide goods or services for the public benefit rather than an business that
operates for profit (XRB, 2015).
According to the XRB definition The Warehouse group is a for profit organization. Day–to–day
business, they are trying to maximise profit. The slogan for The Warehouse is "where everyone gets
a bargain". The Warehouse group includes 4 different businesses. The Warehouse would be classed
as a business that operates for profit (The Warehouse Group, 2013).
The Salvation Army is an organization that operates not for profit. Their main objective is to give
back to the community by supplying beds, holding life skill programs, having community meals and
many more services to help the local community (The Salvation Army, 2013). The Salvation Army
is trying to minimize poverty, suffering and depression and therefore would be classed as a public
benefit entity.
