PetroCup is an on-line interactive training and testing facility in well &
reservoir data analysis and production optimization activities.
It simulates the typical asset behavior so that a professional asset team can go
through a highly realistic multi-year field production in just few days and learn a lot from this experience. 2

4. PetroCup is a good start for young specialists but in its ultimate form it

During the Introduction stage a PetroCup Moderator explains the team
specifics of a given session and ensures that asset teams are registered
on-line and can input data into the system and receive field response
from the PolyPlan Session.
For young specialists it is highly recommended to watch video of
PetroCup Sample Sessions and take few live PetroCup Master Classes
(on-line or face-to-face) which are the regular PetroCup Sessions led by a
group of industry specialists with a detailed explanation of well &
reservoir diagnostics, data analysis and integration, identification and
prioritizing of redevelopment opportunities.

The difference between net response and sum of individual activities also reflects the
interference between activities and qualifies the FDP efficiency.
All Debriefing data is usually unavailable for viewing until the end of Session but this can
be set specifically by Session Moderator.
Open Map Review (OMR)
video presentation which lists all field complications and their diagnostics for the
pre-Tournament production period.
Consolidated Activity Statistics (CAS)
the summary web-table of a given session activities consolidated by activity type (in rows) and
by team (in columns) which is generated automatically by PetroCup server during the session.
Activity-by-Activity Analysis (AAA)
is switched on then PetroCup server will finish processing all activities in a given shot and
then will start repeating each and every activity individually to see a field response to each
activity.

13. PETROCUP vs TRADITIONAL TRAINING
• Concentrates on a specific area of a petroleum
industry (like petrophysics or production analysis)
• The course is a mixture of presentations and practical
exercises fro better materials understanding
• The participants acquire only part of the information
by listening and performing exercises
• The participants do not see how the studying
materials affects the oil (or gas) production
• During the practical exercises, the participants work
on their one

DR. ARTHUR ASLANYAN
Principal
Arthur Aslanyan graduated from Kazan State University in 1993 and did Ph.D. in Mathematical
Physics in 1996. He worked at Kazan State University until 2004. His scope of interest lies in
investigating physical processes and building the corresponding mathematical and computer
models around reservoir depletion.
DR. DANILA GULYAEV
Lecturer
Danila Gulyaev graduated from Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas in 2001 and did Ph.D. in
Engineering Science in 2005. His scope of interest lies in reservoir surveillance, well-testing,
production logging and reservoir simulation.
VLADIMIR KRICHEVSKY
Lecturer
Vladimir Krichevsky graduated from Gubkin University in 2002. Software development for RE needs
brought him into the oil industry where he became an expert in well testing and field development
surveillance. His passion is to reveal the complicated physics behind reservoir development process.
