SCULPTURES & ARCHITECTURES
The woodcarving capital of the
Philippines.
Popular for its centuries old
woodcarving tradition of saints
and other religious images, and
its decorative carvings of floral
patterns and geometric designs
PAETE, LAGUNA
A 17th century Baroque church
It was build in 1587 and was
administered in 1588 by the
Dominicans
SAINT DOMINIC DE GUZMAN PARISH CHURCH OR
ABUCAY CHURCH IN ABUCAY, BATAAN
It is an example of Renaissance
architecture, as especially seen in
its five-layer bell tower that is
defined by its decorative balusters
and ornamented with semicircular
arched windows.
It has a single or coupled Doric
columns, two saint niches in the
main portal and one in the center.
SAINT DOMINIC DE GUZMAN PARISH CHURCH OR
ABUCAY CHURCH IN ABUCAY, BATAAN
It was built in 1885 and served as the
entrance to the original Spanish naval
station that provided repair ammunition,
supply and medical support for ships.
It has high walls made from locally
quarried stone that are connected to the
south gate that face the waterfront.
It was used as a jail during the Spanish
and American occupation.
THE SPANISH GATE IN OLONGAPO CITY
It is a wooden sculpture also known as
“tinagtaggu” that represents the rice
granary spirits that guard the rice crops
of Ifugaos.
A carved wooden human figure with
simplified forms made from a narra tree
which signifies wealth, happiness, and
well-being to the Ifugaos.
THE BUL’UL OF THE MOUNTAIN PROVINCE
A Baroque church that was built in
1873.
It was build entirely of red bricks and
done in the late Baroque or early
Rococo style.
it has a four story bell tower.
It is considered as the most artistic
brick structure in the country.
THE TUMAUINI CHURCH IN TUMAUINI, ISABELA
A narrow and cobblestone 15th
century Spanish street.
It is considered to be one of the most
important heritage sites in the
Philippines.
Lined with antique houses and shops
leading to the town’s hundred year
old church.

  • 4. The woodcarving capital of the Philippines. Popular for its centuries old woodcarving tradition of saints and other religious images, and its decorative carvings of floral patterns and geometric designs PAETE, LAGUNA
  • 5. A 17th century Baroque church It was build in 1587 and was administered in 1588 by the Dominicans SAINT DOMINIC DE GUZMAN PARISH CHURCH OR ABUCAY CHURCH IN ABUCAY, BATAAN
  • 6. It is an example of Renaissance architecture, as especially seen in its five-layer bell tower that is defined by its decorative balusters and ornamented with semicircular arched windows.   • 7. It was built in 1885 and served as the entrance to the original Spanish naval station that provided repair ammunition, supply and medical support for ships. It has high walls made from locally quarried stone that are connected to the south gate that face the waterfront. It was used as a jail during the Spanish and American occupation.
