IndianPolityandGovernance-Constitution,Political System, Panchayati Raj,PublicPolicy,
RightsIssues,etc.
Economicand Social Development-Sustainable Development,Poverty,Inclusion,
Demographics,Social SectorInitiatives,etc.
General issueson Environmental ecology,Bio-diversityandClimate Change - thatdonot
require subjectspecialization.
General Science.
Paper II-(200 marks) Duration : Two hours
Comprehension;
Interpersonal skillsincludingcommunicationskills;
Logical reasoningandanalytical ability;
Decisionmakingandproblemsolving;
General mental ability;
Basic numeracy(numbersandtheirrelations,ordersof magnitude,etc.) (ClassXlevel),Data
interpretation(charts,graphs,tables,datasufficiencyetc. — ClassXlevel);
Note 1 :Paper-IIof the Civil Services(Preliminary) Examinationwill be aqualifyingpaperwith
minimumqualifyingmarksfixedat33%.
Note 2 :The questionswill be of multiple choice,objectivetype.
Note 3 :It is mandatoryforthe candidate toappearinboth the Papersof Civil Services(Prelim)
Examinationforthe purpose of evaluation.Therefore acandidate will be disqualifiedin
case he/she doesnotappearinboththe papersof Civil Services(Prelim) Examination.
