                               My Story
I am story. You are a story. You are a story. My story begins on
January 19, 1998 on Monday 6:30 a.m. at Morong Doctors
Hospital, Morong Rizal Philippines. I am my mom's first child. My full
name is Norien Mae B. Reyes. A year and two months after I was
born, on March 31, 1999 my sister was born. Her full name is
Jalaire Mae B. Reyes. When my sister was born I wasn't the 'little
baby' in my family anymore, but I adjusted to that pretty quickly.
Another 9 years after my sister was born, on December 7, 2008
my brother was born. His full name is Michael Vince B. Reyes. My
brother is the only one in my family that was born in Winnipeg,
Manitoba Canada. My mommy's name is Normalyn and my daddy's
name is Michael. My parents work in Health Science Hospital as
Unit Assistants. My sister and I don't really get along, we're like
cats and dogs but in the end of the day, she's still my sister and I
won't let anyone hurt her, but myself. I hate how we have to share
a room and how she sometimes talks so much that I don't get any
sleep! But I have to admit, without my sister, my life would be
different and I wouldn't have have as many memories. My brother
and I have a weird brother and sister relationship, he annoys me a
lot but at the same time he's fun to be with and will always be there
for me, at least I hope. My sister goes to Sargent Park School and
she is in grade 7, room 72. I only have two cousins here in
Canada, their names names are Bethel, who is 12 years old and is
in the same class as my sister in Sargent Park and Heather, who
is 11 years old and goes to Principal Sparling School as a sixth
grader. My grandma and grandpa from my daddy's side is in
Canada, only to take care of my brother but next year they will be
going back to the Philippines. The rest of my relatives are in the
Philippines. I really miss them because I haven't seen them in
seven years, ever since we came to Canada. I have told you
about my family and when I was born, I hope you learned a lot
about my great family and myself.
Like in any story, there are depressing and exciting moments
thatoccur. It started the day I found out that my family and I were
moving to Canada. My parents told me that we were going to
Canada because they want my sister and I to experience different
places and get good education. At that time I couldn’t figure if I
should be happy or sad. When the time came closer it hit me and I
started feeling sad because I realized that I was going to leave my
first school, friends, Faith Christian School, relatives, and the
country I was born in. Before I left the Philippines I gave all my
friends and relatives hugs and I told them to never forget me, but I
know they could never forget me because I’m so unforgettable. On
December 7, 2003 I finally arrived in Canada with my family in the
age of 6. The first time I saw snow I was amazed of how white and
fluffy it looked. The first time I actually played in snow it felt like I
was on a cloud. My sister and I built snow mans, snow angels,
snow forts, and we also had a snowball fight. It was really fun but
cold because of the weather, and hot because of all the layers I
was wearing like sweaters, a thick jacket, and snow pants. In my
opinion, the best part of winter is hot chocolate. When I began
school I was really scared because I didn’t know anyone and I
wasn’t really good at English. After a couple of days I started
making friends and I also got better at talking to people in another
language. This event has impacted my life greatly because moving
into a different country has made me realize that I’m not limited to
one place in the world all my life. It made me more adventurous,
not only me, but everyone in my family. It also impacted my life by
not living with my relatives in the Philippines, my life has become
less hectic and less fun at home. Living in Canada for about 8
years, has made me realize all the great opportunities in Canada
and living here for so long I’ve come to love this wonderful country.
There are plenty of goals you’ll have to set to get to where you
want to be in the future, here are some of my goals. When I grow
up, I plan to be a pediatrician. My plans are to get good grades,
volunteer at a hospital in my spare time, go to university and take
medicine as a course. I want to become a pediatrician because
ever since I was little girl at around age 4, I wanted to help kids
with their sickness. Another reason I want to be a pediatrician is
because I hate seeing sick kids that have no money for medicine.
When I become a pediatrician I will do medical missions around the
world where they don’t have enough money to get any medical
attention. The final reason I want to become a doctor is because I
like kids and I get along with them easily. These are my goals for
the future and reasons, why I want to become a pediatrician.
Someday I hope all of my dreams and goals will come true in the
future so I can become successful.
My story hasn’t ended yet and it hopefully won’t anytime soon. I
amonly in the 13th chapter in my life and I can’t wait to see what
happens next!
