2. QUESTION 5-HOW DID YOU
ATTRACT/ADDRESS YOUR
AUDIENCE?
The way I addressed and attracted my audience was mainly by
the models I used and the clothing my models were wearing
because that is the main fashion trend that is presented by
society today another reason is that my audience can relate to
that type of clothing because they wear similar clothing and
feel good in it or to follow society.
The use of my text and layout of the RnB and Hip pop
magazine is a different way that I addressed my target
audience because the age group that I picked would like to see
things such as “Chris Brown and drake fight?!...” etc. featuring
in my magazine because firstly they are well known artists and
secondly they would like to find out more about the story or the
3. My colour theme consists of dark colours such as navy
blue/black/maroon and a bit of white, and not extreme bright
colours such as hot pink/bright yellow etc.
I chose to do this because I though it will work well with my
target audience, from the newsstand task I saw that dark
colours work best with my RnB magazine and feedback stated
that they liked dark colours more for that genre than bright, I
also thought it will look tacky and will not suit my magazine.
My magazine attracts the audience without being all in their
faces it doesn’t force them to buy my magazine but makes
them want to buy it and read it.
4. QUESTION 6-WHAT HAVE YOU
LEARNT ABOUT
TECHNOLOGIES FROM THE
PROCESS OF CONSTRUCTING
THIS many technologies while constructing my magazine, some of
I have used PRODUCT?
which are a DSLR camera, Photoshop, InDesign, web designer, blogger etc.
some of which I didn’t know how to use before and some I had experience with
this was a strength and weakness because if I knew how to use it, it meant I
would quickly get my work done but if I didn’t then I would have to learn how to
which was more time consuming.
DSLR Camera:
When we got taught to use the DSLR camera we learnt basic things that would
help with the production of our pictures things such as Flashlights and how soft
boxes softens the light and if you set them to 6 then you get more of a hard
light and if you set them to 1 then you get a soft smaller light, shining on your
model. We got taught about reflectors and aperture and shutter priority which
helped when it came to taking pictures especially if you couldn’t see the
models clearly then you knew what to do to make it right and make the pictures
stand out more than before and make them look effective.
The time also of taking pictures had to be used effectively because we had
time limits so no messing around could happen and pictures had to be taken
fast and look good at the same time, this also meant making up poses and
actions at the same time.
5. PHOTOSHOP
I thought at first using Photoshop was hard because I had no
knowledge of it and hadn't used it before, but when I got taught
how to use it I got the hang of it and it was easy to use
layers, texts, colours etc. on Photoshop where as before I didn’t
understand the point of layers and how to use them it was
confusing to me but the production of the music magazine
helped me to understand Photoshop more.
I think using Photoshop is better than using any other
application because it was effective and looked better than
using InDesign like the preliminary task.
6. INDESIGN AND
ILLUSTRATOR
I though the use of InDesign at first was okay, because I had
knowledge of it from the preliminary task but wasn’t quite
impressed with using it because I wasn’t fond of it which made
it longer for me to use it because I wasn’t looking forward to it
and by the time I started my contents page and double page
spread I just rushed it and it wasn’t done to my best of ability.
However it has features that word or other apps don’t have
which came in handy although it may be hard to use such as
the creating new boxes for every item it wasn’t as bad as I
thought.
Illustrator was something new but I thought that it was good
because we could manipulate text into our own and we
couldn’t do this anywhere else so it was beneficial to use a
different app for my masthead because it made it unique and
into my own.
7. BLOGGER
When we first started media I got introduced to blogger and
like many other apps I wasn’t familiar with it so it was new
thought it will be difficult to get around but it was really simple
and I understood how to upload my work and it’s a easy way
for teachers and my peers to give me feedback on my work
which helps me correct my mistakes rather than not doing
anything about it.
It also shows my progress of all apps and what I have learnt
over the production of my magazine. Overall I think the use of
all apps at first I was not familiar but as time went on I became
more better at using them and I could improve my work over
time.
