The Importance Of A Training Program For An Obstacle Race
If you 're thinking about your first obstacle race like the Tough Mudder or the Spartan Race, you
know it 'll involve a unique training program. Even if you 're a fit athlete, you need to prepare
yourself for the challenges, which are unlike other types of races.
First, think about the kind of race you 'll be doing. There will be mud, cold water as well as chances
for climbing, crawling and jumping. It 's a strain on the body and the mind. It 'll test your endurance
and your mental fortitude. Most of those reasons are why people want to participate in an obstacle
race, but that means it takes a different kind of workout routine and training in the weeks before the
race. You can 't expect to jump into the course and complete it because you 've been running regular
races.
The most fit athlete should still allow 4 to 6 weeks of training before jumping into their first obstacle
course race.
Endurance Building
Whether you 're a runner or not, you should be building up your endurance before the race. Instead
of running a few miles each day on a treadmill, you 'll need to challenge yourself to uneven terrain.
It 'll create a fatigue, which you won 't experience on a treadmill. Your aerobic endurance will be
tested during the race. It might seem like it 'll be less work because you 'll be running between
obstacles, but it 's combined with other tasks, so it can still be a few miles of race.
Example Exercises: Non–stop intervals on the treadmill Take the hill work

Effective Training Program Essay
Exercise is done by majority of people in order to improve one's health and fitness. Everyone is able
to improve their own health and fitness by exercising in order to achieve proficient physical
abilities. Not only can an individual perform and commit to particular activities for personal health,
but also purposes such as sport performance, body size, strength and conditioning, etc; all of which
can be achieved from specific exercises performed consistently with the appropriate nutrition and
rest in place. Athletes typically do exercise in order to become proficient at their own fitness and
specified skills of their sport. Thus if all individuals perform exercise, we can refer even those that
do not compete at sports as being athletes in respective of their fitness and becoming proficient at it;
the difference being individuals training for only their personal well–being. The most important

Thus, a training program must be utilized to help adapt the body to perform specific tasks at a
certain level. An effective training program is essential in order to maximize results over time, and
programs can be adjusted to the goals of the individual. There are 4 major programs that can be
viewed: periodization, interval training, fartlek training, and calisthenics; widely used systems of
exercise training. This report will examine the structure of each program, and their major benefits
and drawbacks.
The first training program is called periodization. This program divides the training process into
specific phases or mesocycles, over a certain amount of time, focusing the manipulation of training
variables such as loads, sets, and repetitions, in order to maximize training adaptations. Selye's
General Adaptation Syndrome was the classic understanding of periodization, stating that systems

The core, is the base upon which all movement occurs.
Using mats and stability ball exercises, I would like to increase my core strength to improve my
performance levels in basketball and other endurance and strength based sports. Using 70–85% of
my 1 Rep Max for 1–3 sets of 6–8 reps my core strength should see quick gains.
Underlying Principles:
According to the principles of FITT, my program should be approached in a way that I, myself
receives the best overall outcome out of the fitness program. Each exercise shall be done
completely, and in a way, that pushes the muscles and exerts force on the muscles, to prepare them
towards the type of fitness goal.
Workouts:
Muscular Endurance
My endurance program will be based upon on a 5 day program as follows:
*These should be repeated in order to be sufficient.
Day 1 – (Core /Triceps)
Day 2 – (Lower Back and Biceps)
Day 3 – (Legs)
Day 4 – (Arms)
Day 5 – (Muscular Endurance)
Each day will begin with warm up/cardio, and a flexibility session. Warmup and flexibility are a
very important component of my program, in terms of increasing performance and decreasing the
risk of injuring myself. As we progress onwards, the risk of injury decreases.

Weight Training Workout Program
If you want to really concentrate on body building, weight training is an important part of your
workout program. Weight training in body building is a very huge part of any exercise regimen, but
itís not the only part. However, when you have a strong weight training plan, your body building
goals become easier to achieve.
In order to work certain muscle groups, you need to lift weights that will provide resistance to those
areas. As you start your weight training body building program, remember to start small and work
your way up. That means start out with a weight that is difficult to lift, but you are able to do it with
some effort. As that weight gets easier to lift, add more. The idea is to build up slowly so you donít

Training Program For An Organization 's Performance
Training is one of the mediations of human resource development process for cultivating
competence, and for the critical goal of raising the standard of an organization's performance.
Training programs are focused on developing activities, that are appropriate and applicable to
guarantee the success of an organization's needs. Identifying of training needs hold the key to the
attainment of any training program. Based on training need assessments, training programs are
prepared as a answer to the development requirements. Training is an important part of all
businesses, in a case where the value and people potential is to be exploited. Training is a method
that involves the achievement of information, improving of skills, theories, or altering of actions and
approaches to advance the functioning of employees Fitzgerald (2002). According to McNamara,
training is mentioned as an educational event, he added that training comprises of learning and
presentation of content as a way of facilitating skill development while improving workplace
behaviors. The design of the training program can be commenced once a well–defined training
objective has been produced. The training objective clarifies what goal has to be attained by the end
of training program. Whether the teaching is to be piloted in a classroom, conveyed using an
electronic format or using a blend of techniques, the design development sets the juncture for the
development of a program that yields results. These are the

My Presentation Of A Training Program
As life is flying past me on both sides, I am walking, no, I am jogging, no, I am sprinting up over
the hill. I can already see the finish line off in the distance, it is still pretty far away but closing in
fast. At this point in the race to the end of the semester I am glad I am going through a training
program called public speaking. There is no way possible I would be over the hill looking down
with the finish line in sight, if it wasn't for this exercise program. This program has been getting me
in shape every day since the start. With two presentations complete I felt a little more confident in
my abilities to give a presentation. I would like to think that I am getting better and better with every
opportunity I am given to speak. My presentation three was an overall improvement off of my
presentation two. I took skills from my first two presentations and blended them with new acquired
skills to strengthen Presentation three. In presentation three, the order I presented my points were;
Notable athletes in the 'pay to play' scandal, the pro's of collegiate athletes getting paid, and the
con's of collegiate athletes getting paid. I chose to do tell the audience about the notable 'pay to play'
athletes first because it gives them a little background information on the topic. Telling them who
has been caught in the scandal makes them feel more relatable to the topic, because now they know
who this has affected. Then, I decided to tell them about the pro's of college

Evaluation Of A Team Training Program
If I were the coach of a softball team and had to formulate a pre–season, in–season, and post–season
work out program I would start by making a list for each to stay on track. For pre–season, things I
would bullet point would be; running, weight training, skill specific sessions and learning strategies.
Next would be for in–season practices and this is going to be my maintenance phase. Last is the
post–season part that is focusing on getting ready for the next year so I would bullet point these
topics; weight training, running, skill specific practices, and leave room for participation in other
sports as well. A pre–season training program should start 8–12 weeks prior to the first competition
date (Powers 2012). This part of the season is to increase energy systems used in this particular sport
to their maximum potential. With my softball team in a pre–season session, I would start with
weight training and running to increase each individual player's strength and endurance. Strength
and endurance training should be done on alternating days to optimize strength gains but can be
done together depending on what the coach is trying to accomplish. According to Powers, if these
two types of training are done together, there may be a lower gain in strength than with only strength
training itself. Things that I would like to do for endurance with softball players would be home to
outfield sprints with walk back recoveries about 8 to 10 times with 3 sets of high knee drills for 20

SUBJECT:
Proposal to Implement a New Training and Development Program
Attached is the proposal to implement a new training and development program at English Home
Furnishings. This new program will go in effect on November 1, 2016. This four week program will
allow all employees to have the same experience and knowledge when selling the products for the
company.
Due to the lack of training with new hires, this has caused a decline in sales due to lack of
knowledge and experience. The following four week program will prepare all new sales employees
to be able to be confident and efficient on the sales floor. Week one will include an overall
introduction to the program. Week two will teach the new hires all products (living room, bedroom,
mattress, dining room, office, accessories, and etc.) the company offers. Week three will breakdown
all of the financing programs and how to run the PLH system to create cash sales and contracts.
Week four will allow the new hires to put what they learn and work the sales floor with guidance of
their superior.
In order to get this new training and development program started by November 1, please respond

A Report On Training Program
At week 4 or 5, I will add the plyometric training; she will start at a low intensity and gradually
increase it to improve her vertical jumps.
The resistance training program consist of three days a week, allowing Tonya recover between
workouts. Aerobic training involves two days to improve her cardiorespiratory endurance. Her
program involves more anaerobic exercises because basketball consist of short burst of intense
activity. The phosphagen and the glycolysis are the dominant energy systems in basketball.
Conditioning training will improve her speed, agility, coordination and endurance. Sprinting
intervals help athletes to buffer their lactate, "short to– moderate bouts of maximal intensity
significantly improve players' ability to remove lactate, thereby enabling them to realized lower
sprint times later in the training session" (Holmberg, 2010). Conditioning exercises include sprint
intervals, defensive shuffles and drills to improve the lactate tolerance of Tonya, as well as, her
speed, agility, and power.
The focus of the preseason is to improve her strength and power and to familiarize Tonya with
specific exercises that mimic the sport. She will be taught to perform lifts properly using a full range
of motion. During the first weeks, the volume will be moderate while her body is adapting to the
changes. Moreover, prior to each workout, she will do 5–10 minutes of warm –up to prepare the
muscles, joints, and tendons for the exercise. At the end of the workout, she

Training Is An Accurate Program For All Different People
FITT, SAID, and SPORT are all training regimens to provide an accurate program for all different
people, whether they are fit or unfit. All these programs show different qualities on what should be
expected, but the specific principles of exercise are progression, regularity, overload, variety,
recovery, balance, and specificity. (PowerPoint) According to the Physical Activity Guidelines you
are to do 150 minutes of moderate exercise and 75 minutes of vigorous activity a week and 2 or
more days of strength training that works the 7 major muscle groups. Most people have different
reasons they work out, in the video some expressed doing it for their weight and health while others
said it brings them joy and peace of mind (Physical Activity Guidelines). This is important to these
training programs because not everyone is the same; therefore you need to base a program on the
individual.
The FITT principal describes how to safely apply principles of overload and progression and stands
for frequency, intensity, time, and the type of exercise (FITT Principle). These principles are
important, you need to have progression when you are in a program to be able to see benefits. An
example would be lifting 5 lbs. for a long time; you eventually need to either increase the frequency,
time, or intensity to start to progress. With progression also comes overload. Progression of overload
needs to be consistent and tailored to each client with the starting point of the training being

Strength Training: The Secret Service has created a strength training workout to assist you in
building a strong base that will prepare you for your training and everyday duties. This program is
not designed to make you a body builder but to assist you in gaining strength to pass the USSS
standards for the Physical Fitness Program. It is important to build the muscle necessary to complete
push–ups and pull–ups.
Strength Training is also called resistance training because it involves strengthening and toning your
muscles by contracting them against a resisting force. Remember with strength training your
muscles need time to recover so it should be done on opposite days if possible. On those alternate

A pull workout is defined as muscle groups that contract as the weight is pulled toward the body and
lengthens as the weight is extended away from the body.
We recommend a class push–pull split workout to simplify your training and obtain faster results.
You should organize your workouts according to pushing and pulling movements. An example of a
push exercise would be chest, shoulder and triceps. A pull movement would be biceps, back, and
hamstrings. The push–pull split workout allows you to hit the gym more often because the muscles
you are working are not sore from overuse.
Depending on the flexibility of your schedule some individuals chose to focus their routine on
specific areas such as chest, legs, upper or lower body. The key to splits can be identified in resting
the area of the body most recently exercised, while still hitting the gym each day: ie. Chest Mon,

Evaluation Plan For Training And Development Program
Training and development is a key component to any organization's current and future success. By
fostering a learning oriented organization, you are creating a culture and environment that will
deliver high quality service and products, anticipate and prepare for the future needs of the
organization, and increase both customer and employee satisfaction. Training and development must
be supported by the Human Resource function, and utilized by senior management to drive staffing
strategy and decisions, performance management, and meet operational goals. In order for the
training and development program to be successful at all levels, it must be properly designed,
implemented, and evaluated. Below, we will discuss the seven steps of the training design process to
demonstrate the best practices and organizational importance of a strong training and development
program.
The seven steps of the training design process are: a needs assessment, ensuring employee readiness
for training, creating a learning environment, ensuring the transfer of training, developing an
evaluation plan, selecting a training method, and monitoring and evaluating the program (Noe,
2013, p. 11). Starting with the needs assessment, it consists of "three elements: organizational
analysis, person analysis, and task analysis" (Noe, 2013, p. 121). Organizational analysis "is
concerned with identifying whether training suits the company's strategic objectives, and whether
the company has the budget, time, and

The first part of the training consists of the clerk learning the operation of the cash register. This

located on the selling floor (Rue & Byars, 2004). Supervisors are on hand to lend instruction and
lead the training. Our system is completely computerized, with each sale being registered in the
main office and warehouse. The register itself is seemingly simple enough to operate, and most
employees do not require much time learning the unit. A hand held scanner is used to scan the labels
and the information is fed to the system. The systems ease has cut down training time, and employee

Training For A Training Program
A training program can be used to effectively improve the ability of an interviewer to conduct more
accurate interviews with job candidates. To attain this accuracy, it is important to base a training
program on well researched and empirical data. In developing a possible program for training
interviewers, it will be necessary to discuss some of the elements that can be used for a training
program. Additionally, training programs will need to be comprised of key components and a solid
process to ensure the program is effective. However, a training program is only as successful as the
results it produces. Therefore, the last section will explore ways to evaluate the effectiveness of a
training program. Training Program Elements and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each of these elements play an important role in the overall training process and will serve to assist
interviewers in achieving more consistent ratings. Training is important because interviewers gain
very little useful information from their day–to–day interviewing experiences (Cascio & Aguinis,
2011). Minimal gains from going through multiple interviews makes sense, since interviewers
would have nothing to compare their interviewing experiences to, or have any consistent method to
learn more effective ways of conducting interviews and assigning ratings. Furthermore, training is
necessary for interviewers to improve their skills, rather than perpetuate poor ones, and is best when
experience combines with high levels of cognitive complexity (Cascio & Aguinis, 2011). Therefore,
it is critical for an interviewer training program to have elements like learning and analysis, which
adds cognitive complexity by providing a base of information and clear examples for participants to
observe. Overall, experience alone will not suffice in allowing improvements to occur for an
interviewer, and training is necessary to improve decision making and accuracy during interviews.
Key Components As mentioned previously, a key component when conducting a training program is
to clearly define the purpose of the training. The role of interviewers is to accurately rate their
perceptions of an applicant and evaluate those perceptions in relation to job requirements, as
outlined by a job

Implementing A Successful Cross Training Program Essay
CREATING AND IMPLEMENTING A SUCCESSFUL CROSS–TRAINING PROGRAMBefore
developing a cross–training program, we need to plan accordingly. Not all employees need to be
trained in all positions. We need to cross–train a little at a time as there is no need to cross–train all
our employees at the same time. I suggest creating a formal job rotation program. We could reduce
the workload during the training process since it will take the new person longer to perform the task
until their individual proficiency is reached. This reduced workload will help employees feel less
resentful that they are being required to do more work. Lastly, we must remember that employees
don't retain the cross–training skills forever and must be re–trained periodically. The following
questions need to be addressed: How will we communicate the strategy to employees; especially
those employees who for various reasons may not be the best fit for cross–training? What are the
positions within the organization should be targeted for a cross–training initiative? Which
employees are ready to be cross–trained and how will we determine who will be cross–trained? In
order to answer these questions, we must examine the following.Communication. We need to
introduce to the employees the benefits of cross–training. Explain to them that will be learning new
skills that can help them grow. We must be sure to explain that the reason for cross–training is not to
eliminate positions, but to increase their overall development

Designing A Successful Training Program
In order to create a successful training program, ConAgra Foods has to have analyzed their

Furthermore, by being able to track progress all the way through the program, a manager can see

the training program, the company planned well for ways to measure the results. This truly gives
ConAgra a competitive advantage over companies who do not evaluate their training methods.
ConAgra decided to expand their training efforts to include the first–line supervisors, because these
members may not have had a chance to practice how to become a leader of individuals and teams.
The purpose of the training program was to have its supervisors "understand what is involved in
being a leader at ConAgra Foods so their groups can provide better results" (Noe et al., 202). To

Weight Lifting : Choosing The Best Weight Loss Training...
Cardio Versus Weight Lifting: Choosing the Best Weight Loss Training Program Any person who is
looking to lose weight may have a hard time deciding which workout type, cardiovascular exercise
or weight lifting, provides the best results to see their body change. There are many aspects to
consider when working towards a weight loss goal, including workout benefits and negative aspects,
the effectiveness of different workouts and the associated health risks. Overall, cardio is great for the
body – it helps your heart stay healthy, boosts your metabolism and even puts you in a good mood
(Clark, 5 Great Benefits of Cardiovascular Exercise!, 2015). It is well known to be an effective
method to lose weight. However, as the saying goes, too much of a good thing can also be a bad
thing. A negative aspect is that over time, certain cardio programs can lead to injuries. "Long
duration, low–intensity cardio training is associated with lower–extremity joint–related damage.
That 's because the repetitive impact of your feet hitting the ground can generate forces that are
equal to several times your actual body weight" (Smith, 2007). This may not necessarily the case for
swimmers or cyclists, but more for runners. Alternatively, cardio training can break down muscle
over extended time (Smith, 2007) and cause weakness. These effects can be undesirable for while
people losing weight, or even hinder your progress if you do not have the strength to continue
working towards your goals.

Resistance Training Program
Discussion #2
–The importance of the endocrine system when designing a resistance training program:
The endocrine system releases hormones to help the body regulate and stabilize internally. When
designing a resistance training program, it is important to look at the predicted outcome (for
example: muscle growth) and see what hormones are linked to that predicted outcome. The goal is
to get the best hormonal response from areas that will help guide you to the intended outcome of the
program. If I was designing a program for strength and muscle growth (using the knowledge I have
of the endocrine system), I know that human growth hormone and testosterone are the hormones
that will play a large role there. Since testosterone directly interacts

Sample Resume : Training Program Essay
Introduction
This program is designed for a female in her mid 50s. This program will consist resistance and
aerobic training. The female is a full time cashier and has limited experience to physical training.
Aside from the daily walking and standing from her full time job the female gets little to no
resistance or aerobic exercise. In younger years the female would travel by foot most of the time, so
there is a part history as it comes to "training" aerobically. She is known to experience some pain in
her bones but has been cleared to do moderate, low impact, resistance and aerobic exercise.
Clients goals are to increase her cardiovascular endurance and to involve some type of resistance
training to strengthen muscles. Optimal goal is to improve her overall physical fitness levels. Client
can give up to an hour of her daily time for training purposes for 7–day training program. Client will
aim to mostly improve aerobic fitness level and devote 3 days of the week to partake in training.
There will 1 full day dedicated to recovery of the body and the other 3 days will be dedicated to
resistance training. For example: M W F– aerobic, T TH –resistance, S –off day, Sun– mixed
training (half aerobic half resistance). Aerobically client can choose whether to exercise indoor or
outdoor. As for resistance training client will begin training in an outdoor/home basis gradually
moving into the gym.

Effects Of Musculoskeletal Palpation On Athletic Training...
To evaluate injuries, musculoskeletal palpation is taught in many athletic training programs.
Oftentimes, the focus is on accuracy of surface anatomy landmarks instead of the ability to
discriminate qualitative information such as, tissue tone, spasm, or pain response from the soft
tissue. Palpation is a large foundation for evaluation and intervention, a need to further the
development of this skill exists. Due to this the integration of tasks to improve palpation skills
throughout athletic training curriculum may help improve student confidence, accuracy and
precision while performing patient evaluation and manual medicine interventions. Recent research
has proven that stereognosis drills can improve student's palpation skills and provide advanced
training to better refine palpation skills. Below, the definition of stereognosis will be defined, as well
as, altering techniques to perform these drills. 1
The use of manual medicine has become increasingly popular in the profession of athletic training.
This occurs because athletic trainers are seeking new ways to rehabilitate their patients. Typically,
these techniques require the athletic trainer to palpate superficial and deep structures of the body
with great accuracy and discrimination. Ironically, many athletic trainers and students report
difficulty with their personal abilities to feel and discriminate the local soft tissue. Stereognosis is a
concept first introduced by Hoffman, as an individual's ability to

The Four Levels Of Training Evaluation Is Defined As A...
Kirkpatrick's Four Levels of training evaluation is defined as a technique for evaluating training
programs, created by Donald Kirkpatrick in 1959. The Kirkpatrick model is the worldwide standard
for evaluating the effectiveness of training. The four levels of this technique incorporate assurance
of how learners respond to the learning procedure, the achievement of skill acquisition by learners,
the degree to which workplace behavior after the training demonstrates skill acquisition, and
quantifiable outcomes, including expanded profits or decreasing any defects observed. Donald
Kirkpatrick, Professor Emeritus at the University of Wisconsin and past president of the American
Society for Training and Development (ASTD), initially ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This evaluation technique is defined as a detailed study of a market or geographical area to gather
data on the attitudes, impressions, opinions, satisfaction level and etc. by targeting and polling a
section of the people. Surveys are low cost and also very effective as long as the participant is
unbiased. Surveys can be administered to the participants through a various number of ways. The
questionnaires can be simple and sent by email or through the Internet, which is easily accessible.
Online surveys have quickly become a popular way of gathering data and conducing surveys. It is
also extremely convenient and does not take up much time. The surveys should have only relevant
questions that reflect the training that was just conducted. It should also be conducted right after the
training when the trainees are still sure about what they have experienced. If the survey is handed to
them too late, the data collected could differ. Simple questions should be asked with a "yes or no"
option as well as a 1 to 10 rating scale. At the end of the survey, there should be an open–ended box
where the trainees are able to freely write how they feel about the training as well as what can be
improved.

A Brief Note On The Athlete 's Training Program Essay
Periodization in Bodybuilding
You may ask why the use of periodization in training programs? , well the goal of periodization is to
help maximize what you gain of your training while reducing the risk of getting injured in the long
term. The way this is done is with an intelligently designed training year program that contains
smaller blocks of time that each has its specific goal and priority. This kind of overall schedule
includes many aspects of an athlete's training program and it may include specific training such as;
strength training, conditioning, plyometric, and also any specific sport activities. However in this
essay I will specify the use of periodization in bodybuilding which is a sport that has become very
popular in recent times.
What is Periodization?
In simple terms, Periodization is the planning and organization of training. When periodization is
used in sport, it is usually used based on achieving specific goals such as gaining maximal physical
capabilities (strength, power, speed, etc...) for a given period of competition. For example in
bodybuilding, the training may be planned around a specific competition.
In bodybuilding periodization is not an unusual thing, in fact most bodybuilders "periodize" their
training anyway and this is to reach their specific goal whether it is to reduce body fat or bring up a
lagging body part. Generally speaking, if you have an aim to reach a goal by a given time, then in
actual fact you are using periodization.

Another key part for a strength training program to be beneficial is the fact that you must increase its
progress, which can be anything from increasing the number of reps, sets, days, or decreasing rest
time. For this particular athlete we will start first with determining they should do about 10–12 reps
for the best strength outcome. From

Xacc/280 Week 6 Resistance Training Program
I have organized the client's training program with the major muscles first in the program after that I
would repeat the muscles again. In addition, since the client had requested for 6 resistance training
days I have strategized by splitting the major muscle groups into several days as seen in the client's
program. Furthermore, with having 6 days of resistance training it would be tough but with a
mixture of upper and lower body days it would allow the client to recovery and build the muscles.
Not only, he would be build muscles, he would improve in his speedball games.

resistance exercises in the appropriate order. Use a minimum of two specific examples from that
particular day to support your answer. (~ 3–5 sentences) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As seen on Day 1 or Monday I have made to start with multi–joint exercises so the client would be
able to rest/recovery to build muscles. Therefore, having multi–joint exercises helps loosen up the
other joints so you won't get hurt and would help build muscle.
3. Explain why you chose the number of sets, number of reps and rest period between sets in your
training program. (~ 3–5 sentences)
The sets, number of reps and rest period between in my training program was set considering in the
description provided from Trevor, it had stated that "has been completing a muscular endurance

the knowledge of Trevor having prior experiences training out and that he would like to build

Implementing The Awareness And Training Program
Implementing: An IT security awareness and training program should be implemented only after a
needs assessment has been conducted, a strategy has been developed, an awareness and training
program plan for implementing that strategy has been completed, and awareness and training
material has been developed.
The program's implementation must be fully explained to the organization to achieve support for its
implementation and commitment of necessary resources. This explanation includes expectations of
agency management and staff support, as well as expected results of the program and benefits to the
organization. Funding issues must also be addressed. For example, agency managers must know if

Post–Implementation
An organization's IT security awareness and training program can quickly become obsolete if
sufficient attention is not paid to technology advancements, IT infrastructure and organizational
changes, and shifts in organizational mission and priorities. CIOs and IT security program managers
need to be cognizant of this potential problem and incorporate mechanisms into their strategy to
ensure the program continues to be relevant and compliant with overall objectives. Continuous
improvement should always be the theme for security awareness and training initiatives, as this is
one area where "you can never do enough."
Monitoring Compliance: Once the program has been implemented, processes must be put in place to
monitor compliance and effectiveness. An automated tracking system should be designed to capture
key information regarding program activity (e.g., courses, dates, audience, costs, sources). The
tracking system should capture this data at an agency level, so that it can be used to provide
enterprise wide analysis and reporting regarding awareness, training, and education initiatives.
Tracking compliance involves assessing the status of the program as indicated by the database
information and mapping it to standards established by the agency. Reports can be generated and
used to identify gaps or problems. Corrective

There is a high importance in implementing commonly successful training procedures such as
audiovisual methods, E–learning portal, and on the job experience. Remember, the main purpose of
employee training is to develop the employee's skill which will eventually make the organization
more profitable (Ameeq–ul–Ameeq, & Hanif, 2013).
Audiovisual Methods The use of audiovisual equipment like instructional DVDs, CDs, or digital
media is beneficial in initially showing an incoming employee how the company's business works.
DVDs, CDs, or digital media can assist employees in need of training without the associated cost of
a second instructing employee. This can be of use when the training is monotonous and not required
to have a high level explanation. When possible, it can be helpful for the new employee to see his or
her own mistakes by recording. The recording of the employee's mistake and later explanation of
error and resolution in real time covering an action that is observable by both parties (Snell &
Bohlander, p. 310, 2012).
E–learning portal The electronic learning portal is taking place of many of the employee training
programs. This is because E–learning portal can be used to deliver the study material directly to the
employee instead of the employee needing to have a supervisor deliver it directly. This program has
shown to save companies anywhere between 30 and 70 percent over traditional methods (Fister,
2008). Utilizing this system decreases

Setting Up A Sound Training Program For Building Strength...
There are many variables to consider when setting up a sound training program for building strength
and muscle. Variables include: adherence to the goal, overall volume, intensity, frequency,
progression, exercise selection, tempo, and rest periods. After learning what those variables mean,
the next question is what is most important and how can I interchange these variables to constantly
improve while preventing injury. By learning how use periodization with the variables stated above,
a person can optimize their training for their specific goals. This report will go into great detail
about the hierarchy for these variables and how to interchange them for the longevity within
someone's lifting career. Introduction When looking to start a strength regimen, many people get lost
at their first step of time management and not understanding the big picture. Understanding
adherence to the goal can make or break a person from the get go. The most important part of any
training program and the top of the hierarchy is adherence. Adherence is being able to stick to the
program by training smart with in the balance of everyday life and realistic goals. To make the best
plan at the same time making a protocol the person can stick to. The next level is volume, intensity,
and frequency, which are the most common building blocks for a solid training program in regards
to building strength and muscle. These variables are all equally important but it also depends on the
specific goal,

Evaluation And Recommendations For New Training Programs
Evaluation and Recommendations for New Training Programs With the downturn of the economy,
and the increase of globalization, organizations continuously are restructuring its operations to
handle the company's demands. Modern day organizations strive to stay ahead of the marketplace.
As the workforce shifts from hard labor to knowledgeable workers, human resource management
need to design and implement a strategic training program that not only teaches operational
competency, but excellent job skills in the latest technology, industry and competition. In this case,
as the appointed Training Director of Reliance Reliable LLC, I will be reviewing and evaluating the
employee's internal and external training program and giving my recommendation on three
methods/models to improve training needs, assessments, and implementation strategies to be used as
an inclusion in the new employees' handbook. Strategic Approach to Training An organizations
exclusive purpose is to align its training program with its overall company objectives. Many
companies use a systematic approach to training. As explained by Carter McNamara, n.d. "A
systematic approach to training includes taking the time to analyze what results the organization
needs from its employees, if employees are accomplishing those results, and what training and
development approaches are needed by employees to better accomplish those results" (para. 2). This
should be taken in to an account when developing new strategic

The Law Enforcement Training Program
1. Currently program managers impose upon field commands artificial restrictions to serve in
collateral duties. These artificial restrictions can limit the local command's autonomy to assign the
best qualified member to do the job thereby resulting in lower quality performance for that collateral
duty. The Coast Guard needs to eliminate artificial restrictions imposed on field commands.
2. Law Enforcement Instructors (LEIs) are instrumental in providing initial and refresher law
enforcement training to members of their crew. They are the cornerstone of the law enforcement
training program and necessary to keep multi–mission units law enforcement capable. Only LEIs are
permitted to sign off on initial and refresher certification for members' training. Reference (a)
requires a member be an E–5 or above in order to be eligible to be assigned as a Law Enforcement
Instructor. This precludes E–4 members, or third–class petty officers, from even being considered to
be an LEI, without regard to their experience or maturity level.
3. Some would argue that pay–grade limitations such as the requirement to be a second class petty
officer or above to serve as an LEI exist to protect the integrity of the law enforcement training
program. While, by and large, that may be true, preventing otherwise impeccably qualified third
class petty officers from even being considered is counterproductive. The spirit of the program is to
have experienced personnel be the subject matter

Safe And Comprehensive Flexibility Training Program:...
A safe and comprehensive flexibility training program could not only improve your performance in
the gym and day–to–day activities, but it can also decrease your risk of muscle imbalance injury
caused by muscle atrophy.
A flexible body increases physical performance by promoting muscular relaxation, which in turn
minimizes your chances of injuring your body.
Stretching allows you to increase muscle flexibility and joint range of motion. When your muscles
are loosened and relaxed, your body can engage in movement easily without resistance and pain.
Properly stretching and lengthening tight sedentary muscles can also help you realign the body and
ensure all joints and muscles are working in complete harmony.
Utilizing the right set of flexibility exercises, your body will become more adaptive to the conditions
you put it through and accumulate less wear and tear throughout the day, especially if you are
customed to living a sedentary lifestyle. Having flexible muscles safely prepares the body for the

Statement of Purpose for Linfield College's Athletic...
I would like to become a certified athletic trainer through the Linfield program because of my love
for sports and medicine. I was involved in a number of sports throughout my life and have gone
through a number of injuries. There is one injury in particular that sparked my interest in athletic
training. I was playing soccer at Chemeketa Community College when I broke my foot. I spent
many hours with the athletic trainer there Julie Speck (PT/ATC/R), who gave me the opportunity to
work with her in the training room. She also sparked another interest and that is to get my dual
credentials in athletic training and physical therapy. I see myself using both degrees in the future
like my mentor Julie Spark (PT/ATC/R). She works in a hospital as a physical therapist and is
contracted out to Chemeketa Community College as an athletic trainer. This is exactly what I plan to
do with both my degrees. As an athletic trainer there are many qualities you must possess. One,
unique qualities that I have is being naturally competitive. My competitive nature makes me want to
be the best at everything I'm doing. It motivates me to try my hardest to accomplish my goals.
Handle stress is also an important quality that I possess. The training center can seem a stressful at
times with so many people coming in and out. I can not only handle this stress but thrive in this kind
of environment. I'm a very sports oriented person and that's something I share with the athletes. I

The Importance Of A Training Program For An Obstacle Race

  • 1. The Importance Of A Training Program For An Obstacle Race If you 're thinking about your first obstacle race like the Tough Mudder or the Spartan Race, you know it 'll involve a unique training program. Even if you 're a fit athlete, you need to prepare yourself for the challenges, which are unlike other types of races. First, think about the kind of race you 'll be doing. There will be mud, cold water as well as chances for climbing, crawling and jumping. It 's a strain on the body and the mind. It 'll test your endurance and your mental fortitude. Most of those reasons are why people want to participate in an obstacle race, but that means it takes a different kind of workout routine and training in the weeks before the race. You can 't expect to jump into the course and complete it because you 've been running regular races. The most fit athlete should still allow 4 to 6 weeks of training before jumping into their first obstacle course race. Endurance Building Whether you 're a runner or not, you should be building up your endurance before the race. Instead of running a few miles each day on a treadmill, you 'll need to challenge yourself to uneven terrain. It 'll create a fatigue, which you won 't experience on a treadmill. Your aerobic endurance will be tested during the race. It might seem like it 'll be less work because you 'll be running between obstacles, but it 's combined with other tasks, so it can still be a few miles of race. Example Exercises: Non–stop intervals on the treadmill Take the hill work ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. My Presentation Of A Training Program As life is flying past me on both sides, I am walking, no, I am jogging, no, I am sprinting up over the hill. I can already see the finish line off in the distance, it is still pretty far away but closing in fast. At this point in the race to the end of the semester I am glad I am going through a training program called public speaking. There is no way possible I would be over the hill looking down with the finish line in sight, if it wasn't for this exercise program. This program has been getting me in shape every day since the start. With two presentations complete I felt a little more confident in my abilities to give a presentation. I would like to think that I am getting better and better with every opportunity I am given to speak. My presentation three was an overall improvement off of my presentation two. I took skills from my first two presentations and blended them with new acquired skills to strengthen Presentation three. In presentation three, the order I presented my points were; Notable athletes in the 'pay to play' scandal, the pro's of collegiate athletes getting paid, and the con's of collegiate athletes getting paid. I chose to do tell the audience about the notable 'pay to play' athletes first because it gives them a little background information on the topic. Telling them who has been caught in the scandal makes them feel more relatable to the topic, because now they know who this has affected. Then, I decided to tell them about the pro's of college ... • 9. Evaluation Of A Team Training Program If I were the coach of a softball team and had to formulate a pre–season, in–season, and post–season work out program I would start by making a list for each to stay on track. For pre–season, things I would bullet point would be; running, weight training, skill specific sessions and learning strategies. Next would be for in–season practices and this is going to be my maintenance phase. Last is the post–season part that is focusing on getting ready for the next year so I would bullet point these topics; weight training, running, skill specific practices, and leave room for participation in other sports as well. A pre–season training program should start 8–12 weeks prior to the first competition date (Powers 2012). This part of the season is to increase energy systems used in this particular sport to their maximum potential. With my softball team in a pre–season session, I would start with weight training and running to increase each individual player's strength and endurance. Strength and endurance training should be done on alternating days to optimize strength gains but can be done together depending on what the coach is trying to accomplish. According to Powers, if these two types of training are done together, there may be a lower gain in strength than with only strength training itself. Things that I would like to do for endurance with softball players would be home to outfield sprints with walk back recoveries about 8 to 10 times with 3 sets of high knee drills for 20 ... The resistance training program consist of three days a week, allowing Tonya recover between workouts. Aerobic training involves two days to improve her cardiorespiratory endurance. Her program involves more anaerobic exercises because basketball consist of short burst of intense activity. The phosphagen and the glycolysis are the dominant energy systems in basketball. Conditioning training will improve her speed, agility, coordination and endurance. Training Is An Accurate Program For All Different People FITT, SAID, and SPORT are all training regimens to provide an accurate program for all different people, whether they are fit or unfit. All these programs show different qualities on what should be expected, but the specific principles of exercise are progression, regularity, overload, variety, recovery, balance, and specificity. (PowerPoint) According to the Physical Activity Guidelines you are to do 150 minutes of moderate exercise and 75 minutes of vigorous activity a week and 2 or more days of strength training that works the 7 major muscle groups. Most people have different reasons they work out, in the video some expressed doing it for their weight and health while others said it brings them joy and peace of mind (Physical Activity Guidelines). This is important to these training programs because not everyone is the same; therefore you need to base a program on the individual. The FITT principal describes how to safely apply principles of overload and progression and stands for frequency, intensity, time, and the type of exercise (FITT Principle). These principles are important, you need to have progression when you are in a program to be able to see benefits. An example would be lifting 5 lbs. for a long time; you eventually need to either increase the frequency, time, or intensity to start to progress. With progression also comes overload. Progression of overload needs to be consistent and tailored to each client with the starting point of the training being ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

By fostering a learning oriented organization, you are creating a culture and environment that will deliver high quality service and products, anticipate and prepare for the future needs of the organization, and increase both customer and employee satisfaction. Training and development must be supported by the Human Resource function, and utilized by senior management to drive staffing strategy and decisions, performance management, and meet operational goals. In order for the training and development program to be successful at all levels, it must be properly designed, implemented, and evaluated. Below, we will discuss the seven steps of the training design process to demonstrate the best practices and organizational importance of a strong training and development program. The seven steps of the training design process are: a needs assessment, ensuring employee readiness for training, creating a learning environment, ensuring the transfer of training, developing an evaluation plan, selecting a training method, and monitoring and evaluating the program (Noe, 2013, p. 11). Starting with the needs assessment, it consists of "three elements: organizational analysis, person analysis, and task analysis" (Noe, 2013, p. 121). Training Program Elements and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Each of these elements play an important role in the overall training process and will serve to assist interviewers in achieving more consistent ratings. Training is important because interviewers gain very little useful information from their day–to–day interviewing experiences (Cascio & Aguinis, 2011). Minimal gains from going through multiple interviews makes sense, since interviewers would have nothing to compare their interviewing experiences to, or have any consistent method to learn more effective ways of conducting interviews and assigning ratings. Furthermore, training is necessary for interviewers to improve their skills, rather than perpetuate poor ones, and is best when experience combines with high levels of cognitive complexity (Cascio & Aguinis, 2011). Therefore, it is critical for an interviewer training program to have elements like learning and analysis, which adds cognitive complexity by providing a base of information and clear examples for participants to observe. Overall, experience alone will not suffice in allowing improvements to occur for an interviewer, and training is necessary to improve decision making and accuracy during interviews. Key Components As mentioned previously, a key component when conducting a training program is to clearly define the purpose of the training. The role of interviewers is to accurately rate their perceptions of an applicant and evaluate those perceptions in relation to job requirements, as outlined by a job ... Not all employees need to be trained in all positions. We need to cross–train a little at a time as there is no need to cross–train all our employees at the same time. I suggest creating a formal job rotation program. We could reduce the workload during the training process since it will take the new person longer to perform the task until their individual proficiency is reached. This reduced workload will help employees feel less resentful that they are being required to do more work. Lastly, we must remember that employees don't retain the cross–training skills forever and must be re–trained periodically. The following questions need to be addressed: How will we communicate the strategy to employees; especially those employees who for various reasons may not be the best fit for cross–training? What are the positions within the organization should be targeted for a cross–training initiative? Which employees are ready to be cross–trained and how will we determine who will be cross–trained? In order to answer these questions, we must examine the following.Communication. We need to introduce to the employees the benefits of cross–training. Cardio Versus Weight Lifting: Choosing the Best Weight Loss Training Program Any person who is looking to lose weight may have a hard time deciding which workout type, cardiovascular exercise or weight lifting, provides the best results to see their body change. There are many aspects to consider when working towards a weight loss goal, including workout benefits and negative aspects, the effectiveness of different workouts and the associated health risks. Overall, cardio is great for the body – it helps your heart stay healthy, boosts your metabolism and even puts you in a good mood (Clark, 5 Great Benefits of Cardiovascular Exercise!, 2015). It is well known to be an effective method to lose weight. However, as the saying goes, too much of a good thing can also be a bad thing. A negative aspect is that over time, certain cardio programs can lead to injuries. "Long duration, low–intensity cardio training is associated with lower–extremity joint–related damage. That 's because the repetitive impact of your feet hitting the ground can generate forces that are equal to several times your actual body weight" (Smith, 2007). This may not necessarily the case for swimmers or cyclists, but more for runners. Alternatively, cardio training can break down muscle over extended time (Smith, 2007) and cause weakness. These effects can be undesirable for while people losing weight, or even hinder your progress if you do not have the strength to continue working towards your goals. ... Palpation is a large foundation for evaluation and intervention, a need to further the development of this skill exists. Due to this the integration of tasks to improve palpation skills throughout athletic training curriculum may help improve student confidence, accuracy and precision while performing patient evaluation and manual medicine interventions. The way this is done is with an intelligently designed training year program that contains smaller blocks of time that each has its specific goal and priority. This kind of overall schedule includes many aspects of an athlete's training program and it may include specific training such as; strength training, conditioning, plyometric, and also any specific sport activities. However in this essay I will specify the use of periodization in bodybuilding which is a sport that has become very popular in recent times. What is Periodization? In simple terms, Periodization is the planning and organization of training. When periodization is used in sport, it is usually used based on achieving specific goals such as gaining maximal physical capabilities (strength, power, speed, etc...) for a given period of competition. For example in bodybuilding, the training may be planned around a specific competition. In bodybuilding periodization is not an unusual thing, in fact most bodybuilders "periodize" their training anyway and this is to reach their specific goal whether it is to reduce body fat or bring up a lagging body part. Implementing The Awareness And Training Program Implementing: An IT security awareness and training program should be implemented only after a needs assessment has been conducted, a strategy has been developed, an awareness and training program plan for implementing that strategy has been completed, and awareness and training material has been developed. The program's implementation must be fully explained to the organization to achieve support for its implementation and commitment of necessary resources. Post–Implementation An organization's IT security awareness and training program can quickly become obsolete if sufficient attention is not paid to technology advancements, IT infrastructure and organizational changes, and shifts in organizational mission and priorities. CIOs and IT security program managers need to be cognizant of this potential problem and incorporate mechanisms into their strategy to ensure the program continues to be relevant and compliant with overall objectives. Continuous improvement should always be the theme for security awareness and training initiatives, as this is one area where "you can never do enough." Monitoring Compliance: Once the program has been implemented, processes must be put in place to monitor compliance and effectiveness. An automated tracking system should be designed to capture key information regarding program activity (e.g., courses, dates, audience, costs, sources). The tracking system should capture this data at an agency level, so that it can be used to provide enterprise wide analysis and reporting regarding awareness, training, and education initiatives. Tracking compliance involves assessing the status of the program as indicated by the database information and mapping it to standards established by the agency. Reports can be generated and used to identify gaps or problems. Corrective ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 40. The Law Enforcement Training Program 1. Currently program managers impose upon field commands artificial restrictions to serve in collateral duties. These artificial restrictions can limit the local command's autonomy to assign the best qualified member to do the job thereby resulting in lower quality performance for that collateral duty. The Coast Guard needs to eliminate artificial restrictions imposed on field commands. 2. Law Enforcement Instructors (LEIs) are instrumental in providing initial and refresher law enforcement training to members of their crew. They are the cornerstone of the law enforcement training program and necessary to keep multi–mission units law enforcement capable. Only LEIs are permitted to sign off on initial and refresher certification for members' training. Reference (a) requires a member be an E–5 or above in order to be eligible to be assigned as a Law Enforcement Instructor. This precludes E–4 members, or third–class petty officers, from even being considered to be an LEI, without regard to their experience or maturity level. 3. Some would argue that pay–grade limitations such as the requirement to be a second class petty officer or above to serve as an LEI exist to protect the integrity of the law enforcement training program. While, by and large, that may be true, preventing otherwise impeccably qualified third class petty officers from even being considered is counterproductive. • 42. Statement of Purpose for Linfield College's Athletic... I would like to become a certified athletic trainer through the Linfield program because of my love for sports and medicine. I was involved in a number of sports throughout my life and have gone through a number of injuries. There is one injury in particular that sparked my interest in athletic training. I was playing soccer at Chemeketa Community College when I broke my foot. I spent many hours with the athletic trainer there Julie Speck (PT/ATC/R), who gave me the opportunity to work with her in the training room. She also sparked another interest and that is to get my dual credentials in athletic training and physical therapy. I see myself using both degrees in the future like my mentor Julie Spark (PT/ATC/R). She works in a hospital as a physical therapist and is contracted out to Chemeketa Community College as an athletic trainer. This is exactly what I plan to do with both my degrees. As an athletic trainer there are many qualities you must possess. One, unique qualities that I have is being naturally competitive. My competitive nature makes me want to be the best at everything I'm doing. It motivates me to try my hardest to accomplish my goals. Handle stress is also an important quality that I possess. The training center can seem a stressful at times with so many people coming in and out. I can not only handle this stress but thrive in this kind of environment. I'm a very sports oriented person and that's something I share with the athletes. I understand ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
