1. Chapter 10 Polyhedron Project
For this project, you will make a polyhedron using oneoneoneone of the following methods:
• Coffee stirrers and chenille stems (pipe cleaners)
• Cut out pieces of cardstock (Slide-togethers)
• Unit origami pieces
• PhiZZ units
• Some other method or procedure that I approve
The instructions for each method are posted on the Canvas site and my web page. You are responsible
for acquiring the materials for your project with the exception of the coffee stirrers, which I will provide
when you show me that you have bought the pipe cleaners.
Your grade for this project will be based on workmanship, neatness, following directions, and the
difficulty of your chosen project. Here are the maximummaximummaximummaximum grades for each method:

When you turn in your project, you must tag it with your name and class period. I will assume, unless
you inform me otherwise, that you do not want your project returned. (In order to keep from being
buried in these, I often give them to other teachers, administrators, etc.)
Note #1: You can earn up to an addition 10% if you spray paint your coffee stirrer project.
Note #2: If you are planning to do one of the slide-togethers, I will make copies of the shapes onto
available cardstock. If you have a preferred color choice, you might want to buy your own cardstock and
print it yourself. You may come by after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays until 4:30 if you need help or a place to work.
A-day projects are due by the end of the day on 4/29
B-day projects are due by the end of the day on 4/30
Late projects will lose 10 points per day (9th graders per school day, 8th graders per class day)
