At the beginning, Marek explains what SoC and FPGA systems are and how their combination on a single piece of silicon can be useful.
This is followed by multiple important news from U-Boot and Linux upstream. On the Intel side, Marek covers the newly supported Arria10/Stratix10 in upstream U-Boot as there are considerable differences from the previous generation of SoCFPGA. This is followed by a brief look at the constantly improving support for those SoCs in mainline Linux and their real-world usability with LTS and CIP trees.
On the Xilinx side, U-Boot can now completely replace proprietary boot components on ZynqMP and Marek explains how to make this change and what the pros and cons are. While mainline Linux support for Zynq and ZynqMP is improving too, there are still many limitations preventing pure mainline Linux from being used in real-world systems. Marek points out those limitations as well as ways to deal with them. Concluding the Xilinx part of the talk is the Lima open-source Mali4xx GPU driver, which allows replacing the proprietary userspace blob controlling the GPU. The current state of the driver as well as how to get it operational on ZynqMP is explained in this talk.
Finally, important security fixes mitigating recently discovered hardware problems are now available in U-Boot, yet enabling those is not a simple matter of flipping a Kconfig option, but instead requires careful analysis of the entire system. Marek points out which software components need to be checked and outlines a fix for those before the security problems can be considered addressed.

It's the year 2016. The PC market keeps on shrinking. More and more people use mobile devices and store most of their data in the cloud. This is good news for server manufacturers and data center admins, as market researcher expect a growth of 3% for investments in data center systems.
To keep up with managing of all these cloud systems, IT professionals around the globe formed the devops movement and made the software part of server automation easier than ever before by using tools like Puppet, Ansible, Chef or Salt.
The software part... What about the hardware part? Hmm..., IPMI (the so-called Intelligent Platform Management Interface) has been the standard to manage systems out-of-band in the datacenter since 1998. It uses UDP port 623, has a specification document with over 600 pages, requires in-depth special knowledge and has some serious security issues.
To overcome these limitations, and to bring hardware system management to the present age, the Redfish management standard has been developed and released by the DMTF (Distributed Management Task Force).
Redfish uses a RESTful interface, is used over HTTPS, and provides all data in the JSON format using ODATA schemas. Good news for devops and automation tools :-)

Hence small bootloader uses to make controller programmable very often as like Arduino series board. Microcontrollers like 8051, PIC without bootloader requires the external programmer to burn the program inside the memory of the microcontroller. In addition to it requires preciously control output states of various pin mode which should be in sequence according to the datasheet of the manufacturer. This talk my 2009 updates on the progress of doing 10Gbit/s routing on standard hardware running Linux. The results are good, BUT to achieve these results, a lot of tuning is required of hardware queues, MSI interrupts and SMP affinity, together with some (now) submitted patches. I\'ll explain the concept of network hardware queues and why interrupt and SMP tuning is essential. I\'ll present results from different hardware both 10GbE netcards and CPUs (current CPUs under test is AMD phenom and Core i7). Many future challenges still exists, especially in the area of more easy tuning. A high knowledge level about the Linux kernel is required to follow all the details.

Running Applications on the NetBSD Rump Kernel by Justin Cormack
Abstract
The NetBSD rump kernel has been developed for some years now, allowing NetBSD kernel drivers to be used unmodified in many environments, for example as userspace code. However it is only since last year that it has become possible to easily run unmodified applications on the rump kernel, initially with the rump kernel on Xen port, and then with the rumprun tools to run them in userspace on Linux, FreeBSD and NetBSD. This talk will look at how this is achieved, and look at use cases, including kernel driver development, and lightweight process virtualization.

Justin Cormack has been a Unix user, developer and sysadmin since the early 1990s. He is based in London and works on open source cloud applications, Lua, and the NetBSD rump kernel project. He has been a NetBSD developer since early 2014.
Understanding DPDK
1. DPDK achieves high throughput packet processing on commodity hardware by reducing kernel overhead through techniques like polling, huge pages, and userspace drivers.
2. In Linux, packet processing involves expensive operations like system calls, interrupts, and data copying between kernel and userspace. DPDK avoids these by doing all packet processing in userspace.
3. DPDK uses techniques like isolating cores for packet I/O threads, lockless ring buffers, and NUMA awareness to further optimize performance. It can achieve throughput of over 14 million packets per second on 10GbE interfaces.

Dandelion Hashtable: beyond billion requests per second on a commodity server
This slide deck presents DLHT, a concurrent in-memory hashtable. Despite efforts to optimize hashtables, that go as far as sacrificing core functionality, state-of-the-art designs still incur multiple memory accesses per request and block request processing in three cases. First, most hashtables block while waiting for data to be retrieved from memory. Second, open-addressing designs, which represent the current state-of-the-art, either cannot free index slots on deletes or must block all requests to do so. Third, index resizes block every request until all objects are copied to the new index. Defying folklore wisdom, DLHT forgoes open-addressing and adopts a fully-featured and memory-aware closed-addressing design based on bounded cache-line-chaining. This design offers lock-free index operations and deletes that free slots instantly, (2) completes most requests with a single memory access, (3) utilizes software prefetching to hide memory latencies, and (4) employs a novel non-blocking and parallel resizing. In a commodity server and a memory-resident workload, DLHT surpasses 1.6B requests per second and provides 3.5x (12x) the throughput of the state-of-the-art closed-addressing (open-addressing) resizable hashtable on Gets (Deletes).

Folding is a recent technique for building efficient recursive SNARKs. Several elegant folding protocols have been proposed, such as Nova, Supernova, Hypernova, Protostar, and others. However, all of them rely on an additively homomorphic commitment scheme based on discrete log, and are therefore not post-quantum secure. In this work we present LatticeFold, the first lattice-based folding protocol based on the Module SIS problem. This folding protocol naturally leads to an efficient recursive lattice-based SNARK and an efficient PCD scheme. LatticeFold supports folding low-degree relations, such as R1CS, as well as high-degree relations, such as CCS. The key challenge is to construct a secure folding protocol that works with the Ajtai commitment scheme. The difficulty, is ensuring that extracted witnesses are low norm through many rounds of folding. We present a novel technique using the sumcheck protocol to ensure that extracted witnesses are always low norm no matter how many rounds of folding are used. Our evaluation of the final proof system suggests that it is as performant as Hypernova, while providing post-quantum security.
