a great Zoom meeting
To make meetings go more smoothly, designate a co-
host who can take over for you if you have tech
problems, a moderator to monitor and respond to chats,
and a coordinator to keep track of time and take notes.

Share the rules for participation at the
beginning of the meeting

Participation Rules
• Audio muted,


• Use the hand-raise feature
when you have a comment or
question,


• Introduce yourself before
speaking, and


• Use the mute button when
you’re not speaking.
Set expectations. Start by saying
“Welcome everybody, to make the
best use of your time


we’re going to do x, y and z” 3
Use breakout groups

If the meeting is over an hour,


plan for a short 5 minute break

Don’t allow anyone to talk more than
f
ive minutes without giving others the
chance to speak, ask questions, add
input on chat or whatever

Add some fun breaks…a poll,
joke or favorite recipe 7
At multiple points in the meeting,
invite people to speak

Create a set of next actions.
“Please expect an email with a
short list of bullets of what we
talked about and next actions”
