from Sensitive Chaos: The Creation of Flowing Forms
There is a universal language of "SHAPE."
Certain archetypal forms of movement may be found in all flowing media, regardless of
their composition: water, clouds, sea shells, onions, cracked and dried riverbeds, trees, the
human form.
A spiral pattern, for example, can be found in water flowing down a drain, the pattern of hair
growing from the crown of a child’s head, or a spiral galaxy.
