This document outlines Boulder County's Zero Waste Action Plan to achieve zero waste or near zero waste by 2025. It provides background on the plan's development with input from various boards and stakeholders. It establishes an initial goal of diverting an additional 17.96% of waste from landfills by 2015 through steps targeting both the residential and commercial sectors. These include programs for construction waste recycling, food and yard waste composting, recycling education, and volume-based garbage collection. Further diversion goals are outlined for 2018 and beyond through additional bans and requirements. Baseline waste diversion rates for Boulder County and municipalities are provided.
