COVID-19 is new coronavirus that has not been detected in humans before. There have been many strands of coronavirus that have detected in humans before such as the common cold (CDC, 2020).
Similarly, the 2009 (H1N1) pdm09 virus was very different from H1N1 virus’ that were detected before the pandemic. There were few young people who were found to have the antibodies likely from a previous exposure to H1N1 virus strand (CDC, 2019).

you will start with last week's program and create your own functions for some of the tasks. You'll
have a printmenu () function, printarray () function and a convertcase () function. Just like you saw
in class, the code from the main () function that performs each of those tasks will be moved from
the the main () function and into their respective functions. More details about those functions are
shown below in the Lab Assignment section. All the functions will be in one file, called lab8.c.
Background Information For this lab, you will use last week's program to start with. Copy it and
rename it lab8.c. Again, you will be adding more code to this program in the future, so make sure
you get this one working. Functions and Reminders 1. As you saw in class, functions perform
(usually) one task, or a couple of smaller tasks that combined perform a task. 2. Some functions
return a value (the retum type being specified in the functon header/signature and a return
statement at the bottom of the function): int printmenu() & and some functions do not return any
value (the retum type then being specified as void and no return statement at the bottom of the
function): void convertCase (char text [MAX_LINE] [MAX_LINE_LEN] ) i 3. When arguments are
being sent to the function, the function then has "parameters" specified in the function
header/signature. The parameters that are specified indicate the type and the name: void

This dimension deals with the fact that all individuals in societies are not equal it expresses the
attitude of the culture towards these inequalities amongst us. Power Distance is defined as the
extent to which the less powerful members of institutions and organisations within a
country expect and accept that power is distributed unequally. It has to do with the fact that a
societys inequality is endorsed by the followers as much as by the leaders.
With a score of 39 on this dimension, Canadian culture is marked by interdependence among its
inhabitants and there is value placed on egalitarianism. This is also reflected by the lack of overt
status and/or class distinctions in society. Typical of other cultures with a low score on this
dimension, hierarchy in Canadian organisations is established for convenience, superiors are
always accessible and managers rely on individual employees and teams for their expertise. It is
customary for managers and staff members to consult one another and to share information freely.
With respect to communication, Canadians value a straightforward exchange of information.
INDIVIDUALISM
The fundamental issue addressed by this dimension is the degree of interdependence a society
maintains among its members. It has to do with whether peoples self-image is defined in terms
of I or We. In Individualist societies people are supposed to look after themselves and their direct
family only. In Collectivist societies people belong to in groups that take care of them in exchange
for loyalty.
Canada scores 80 on this dimension (its highest dimension score) and can be characterized as an
Individualist culture. Similar to its American neighbor to the south, this translates into a loosely-knit
society in which the expectation is that people look after themselves and their immediate families.
Similarly, in the business world, employees are expected to be self-reliant and display initiative.
Also, within the exchange-based world of work, hiring and promotion decisions are based merit or
evidence of what one has done or can do.
MASCULINITY
A high score (Masculine) on this dimension indicates that the society will be driven by competition,
achievement and success, with success being defined by the winner or best-in-the-field. This
value system starts in school and continues throughout ones life both in work and leisure pursuits.
A low score (Feminine) on the dimension means that the dominant values in society are caring for
others and quality of life. A Feminine society is one where quality of life is the sign of succ.

The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable.
