As of 1st October 2020, over 2,000 incarcerated individuals and over 700 employees in the US correctional facilities had been infected with COVID-19. As a result, the Federal Correctional Facilities COVID-19 response Act was introduced on 2nd February 2021 to the senate (“Federal Correctional Facilities COVID–19 Response Act,” 2021). The bill was introduced to curb inefficiencies noted in correctional facilities regarding testing and timely reporting of COVID-19 cases. Due to the desperate situation witnessed on a worldwide level, the Act will require correctional facilities to assess and conduct weekly COVID-19 testing and prior reporting to the relevant authorities. Centers for CDC will also be required in various correctional facilities with qualified officials to aid in managing and controlling further outbreaks on the same. Additionally, the CDC officials will be required to perform basic education on maintaining safety guidelines and ensure the Attorney General has submitted reports regularly to Congress on the developing and current efforts of combating COVID-19 in the correctional facilities. The proposed bill is satisfactory enough to guarantee its relevancy in the community due to the worrying numbers witnessed in the state daily. The policy effectiveness feasibility loop (PEFL) amalgamates epidemiological modeling, local situation formulation, and policy option appraisal in fully involving policymakers (O’Donnell et al., 2017). The COVID-19 pandemic presents more than enough prevalence and rising death tolls that calls for immediate countermeasures for prevention that would reduce costs and associated overpopulation in hospitals that consequently, puts the patients at more risk. Evidence-based research led to the health policy that advocated for vaccination of children under the age of two years. This was due to the prevalence of attacks such as measles and tuberculosis as early as six-month-old babies (Miller et al., 2020). The case of the proposed Act has been documented by literature that affects public safety and wellbeing. The evidence presented is not just hearsay, but rather derived from trending and documented data that is analyzed and determined accordingly by relevant professionals in the field. Additionally, the Federal Correctional Facilities COVID-19 response Act could be a stepping stone for collective intervention measures in terms of budget and personnel allocation along with the development of a long-lasting solution, such as the case with developed vaccines on the same (Williams et al., 2020). .

The reason for exploring the application of ethical principles and allocation of resources in COVID-19 is due to the various contextual circumstances and decisions required in resource allocation for different pandemics. Health policies must be based on evidence-based facts to have significant impacts on population health. This discussion analyses the proposed COVID-19 Health Care Worker Protection Act of 2020. This policy required the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to protect health workers from exposure to the coronavirus that causes the occurrence of COVID-19. The policy was expected to protect healthcare workers and other workers considered to be at high risk for SAR-CoV-2 exposure (Congress.gov, 2020). The policy would ensure protection for healthcare workers in the private and public sectors. The policy would not only provide a temporary standard for the protection of workers during the COVID-19 epidemic but also provide a permanent measure for the long-term protection of healthcare providers from COVID-19.
The main socio-determinant of health influencing the policy is the physical environment of healthcare workers. According to Razvi et al. (2020), healthcare workers have a high COVID-19 infection because they are constantly exposed to patients with the infection. The disease can easily spread from one individual to another through behaviors such as sneezing, coughing, touching contaminated surfaces, being in crowded environments, and poor hand hygiene. While they are in their line of work, they are likely to get contact with the coronavirus in one way or another hence predisposing them to the serious effects of the disease and even death. The fact that healthcare workers spend a lot of time working in a high-risk environment with biohazard exposure increases their chances of contracting the disease at higher rates compared to the general population. For that reason, the healthcare providers ‘physical environment largely influenced the policy and measures must be put in place as recommended by the COVID-19 Health Care Worker Protection Act of 2020 to protect the healthcare workers population.
There is sufficient evidence base to support the proposed policy. Razvi et al.(2020) explored the extent of exposure of hospital-based healthcare workers to COVID-19.It was found that the percentage of healthcare workers who tested positive for the coronavirus was significantly higher (19.4%) than the general population (6.8%). The healthcare workers (HCWs) without direct patient management roles also had a high positivity rate of the virus(12.3%) compared to the general population. For that reason, it was recommended that all HCWs should be provided with adequate personal protection equipment (PPEs) to protect them from contracting the virus while on their line of duty. Atnafie et al. (2021) also acknowledged that frontline healthcare workers are directly exposed to the COVID-19 pandemic and hence are highly exposed to its infection. Poor COVID-19 prevention measures among HCWs could lead to increased exposure to the disease, delayed identification, and treatment of the disease hence a rapid spread of the disease to the HCWs. Four Steps to Building the Public Health System Needed
to Cope With the Next Pandemic

COVID-19 has revealed what many publichealth practitioners have known for sometime: our nation’s disjointed and under-
funded public health system lacks the ability to
mount a coordinated response against novel epidemic
threats. Our failure to invest in our nation’s state
and local governmental public health infrastructure,
as well as key federal programs, risks a large loss of
life from future infectious disease threats, and dur-
ing crises, jeopardizes the economy and the normal
functioning of society.
Since 2010, spending for state public health agen-
cies has dropped by 16% per capita and spending for
local health agencies has fallen by 18%.1 More than
three-fourths of Americans live in states that spend
less than $100 per person annually on public health,
compared with more than 100 times that for medical
care.1 Federal support for the Public Health Emer-
gency Preparedness Program (PHEP) and the Hospital
Preparedness Program (HPP), which are meant to
provide funding for health agencies and hospitals, re-
spectively, to prepare for a response, has declined by
30% since 2006.2 The consequences of these budget
reductions include fewer staff ready to respond at a
moment’s notice, fewer dollars available for invest-
ments in technology, and in some places, a decrease
in overall coordination between health care providers
and public health agencies.
The nation’s early response to COVID-19 showed
the country’s limited capabilities in implementing ba-
sic epidemic control steps—testing, isolating, tracing,
and quarantine. In this supplement, Hamilton and
Turner3 and Ruebush et al4 provide critical and de-
tailed reviews of the nation’s epidemiologic response

Pandemics, such as that of COVID-19, affect a large number of people, imposing new rules and social habits on them, aiming to modify the behavior that influences economic and social problems. In this context, the objective of this study was to be investigative, using the DEA tool (data envelopment analysis), seeking the efficiency of proposed and economic measures, seeking to assist them and also public policies in improving planning, trying to avoid problems such as those caused by the current pandemic. This is a cross-sectional and quantitative study, of an exploratory nature, carried out with data from the 10th. Region of the state of São Paulo, based on municipalities with 10,000, or more, inhabitants in the time interval from 05/03/2020 to 05/05/2021. This work is justified by the fact that the COVID-19 pandemic exposes structural weaknesses, economic differences and bottlenecks in the Brazilian health system, especially the lack or uneven distribution, in the territory, of health professionals and health professional, infrastructure, as well as limited production capacity, poor income distribution, the human development index and, still, the glaring differences in the GDP of the municipalities. It has been noted that 53% of the municipalities are deficient and that only 47% of them are above the average ideal efficiency rate of 0.823150. It is concluded, in this work, that the economic and social factors need to be better addressed and that social distance, the use of masks and personal hygiene must be encouraged by the representatives of the public power, in order to avoid a greater number of deaths.

The policy was introduced in the house on 05/12/2020 with the main objective of responding to the Covid-19 disease outbreak by factoring in its impacts on the economy, public health, local and state governments, Americans as well as various businesses. The bill also has other provisions and these include providing emergency supplemental materials to the federal agencies during the FY 2020. What’s more, the bill also ensures that the state, local and territorial governments have the assistance required to fight emergencies such as the global pandemic (Congress.gov, 2020). In addition, the HEROES Act expands paid sick days, as well as ensuring that the family and medical leaves are long enough and addresses the issues of unemployment, nutrition and other health concerns. With regard to fighting the global pandemic, the bill pushes for funding and ensuring that the Covid-19 requirements including testing and contact tracing are properly done, as well as the elimination of cost sharing specifically for Covid-19 treatments (Congress.gov, 2020). The Corona Virus pandemic has caused several losses of lives in addition to numerous hospitalizations in the US. Being a highly infectious disease, it is of utmost significance to understand the prevalence of the disease and for the highly susceptible populations, necessary measures should be undertaken to reduce the spread. One of the measures proposed by WHO include containment measures, contact tracing, keeping distance and washing hands among others. Since WHO has proved that these measures may help in the prevention of Covid-19 and other infectious diseases, it is evident that the HEROES bill, if passed, may help in reducing the number of Covid-19 cases, especially by ensuring that the WHO guidelines on containing the pandemic are adhered to, as well as ensuring that employers comply to the containment measures as well as ensuring that their employers are safe. Moreover, another significant component of the bill is that it addresses the impacts of Covid-19 on the US economy, together with ensuring that the disease does not affect individuals, as well as their businesses. All these support the benefits of this bill and how it will aid in opening the economy, honoring heroes as well as sending money to the Americans as asserted by the National Law Review (2020).

However, strength for any compliance programs depends on compliance policy and procedurals which outlines applicable laws, regulations and standards that should be followed to implement developed plans. Compliance policies should be clear and simple to eliminate confusion or difficulties which may be experienced by implementers of compliance plans. Considering there are two compliance plans, to enhance clarity on the developed compliance, each compliance plan would be considered individually constituting two sections for two compliance policies under each compliance plan.
Compliance Plan For Covid protocols
The impact of Covid-19 has been felt in all sectors of economies and health sectors is not exceptional. Even though numerous professionals have been affected by the virus, significant healthcare providers have succumbed to the virus on the line of the duty. According to a study conducted that assess the impact of Covid-19 on the health sector, as of April 2020, countries that reported the significant number of healthcare providers that had succumbed to the virus are Italy with 44%, Iran with 15%, Philippines with 8%, Indonesia with 6%, and China, Spain, U.S each with 4% (Iyengar et al…,2020). Healthcare providers are the first line of defense at high risk of infection because they constantly engage and interact with Covid protocols. Given there is no cure for the virus, hospitals are implementing prevention measures to contain the spread of the virus, protect clients and also its staff. However, it has been noticed that staff members have been violating Covid protocols such as washing hands between patients necessitating the development of a Compliance plan for COVID. In the following two sections, compliance policies for the compliance plan for COVID are outlined.
Section 1: Compliance Standards for COVID Protocols
Healthcare providers should comply with standard precaution practices when treating patients regardless of the nature of diagnosis (Beyamo, Dodicho & Facha, 2019). In the healthcare facility, healthcare workers are at high risk of infection. Covid-19 is an infectious disease which means healthcare workers are at high risk of being exposed to the virus. Containing the COVID 19 Pandemic in Nigeria A Reflection on Government Action...
The outbreak of the COVID 19 pandemic led to the lockdown of the global economy in the early part of the year 2020. In line with the measures recommended by the World Health Organization WHO , countries also introduced further mechanisms based on their respective unique environment to contain the virus. This paper reflected on the citizens’ reactions to government measures in containing the COVID 19 pandemic in Nigeria. Specifically, it reviewed the government’s actions towards containing the virus and how they influenced the citizens’ response. The study was qualitative and focused between March and September 2020. Relying on secondary data that were analyzed through content analysis, we triangulated the Persuasive Communication Theory and Resistance Theory to interrogate the governments actions and the citizens’ reactions. We argued that the governments approach towards containing the virus contributed to i the doubt on the existence of the virus in the country held by some of the citizens, ii the lack of strict observation of precautionary measures and safety regulations, iii the seeming non co operation between the government and the citizens in containing the virus. The implications of this relationship pose challenges for future epidemics, pandemics, and development in the country and could serve as a premise for further research. With reference to health informatics, a systematic review of literature, (Eikey, Reddy, & Kuziemsky, 2015), methods of collaborative work in health setting include telemedicine application, EMR, HER, EPR, CPOE, mobile technology, (PDAs, pagers, mobile phones), Web 2.0 applications, internet, online health communities, picture archives, and communication system, medicine dispensing devices and barcode systems, HIT and any other specific application. The authors further presented the "collaboration space model", to help researchers study collaboration and technology in healthcare.
In my healthcare setting, we use several health informatics methods such as pagers, mobile phones, communication system, medicine dispensing devices and barcode systems, but one that has been much applauded during this COVID 19 era is Telemedicine. I work in a psych/detox hospital.
We found telemedicine very relevant based on research results indicating that people with mental health problems are twice more likely to be frequent users of hospital emergency departments (Hunt, Weber, Showstack, Colby, & Callaham, 2006). The use of the emergency department for routine clinical care poses a huge strain on the health system because of the high cost of treatment, restricting use of the emergency department for admission of patients who really require admissions. This is also because of the associated complexity and pressure to admit patients for inpatient care (Institute of Medicine (U.S.), 2007).
Recent technological advancements have led to easy access to videoconferencing utilizing personal computers or tablets. A few research work has also been carried out using telemedicine. Patients are encouraged to check their vital signs using personal devices. Also, the introduction of asynchronous store-and-forward approaches enable clinicians review their patient without direct interaction. Health policies must be based on evidence-based facts to have significant impacts on population health. This discussion analyses the proposed COVID-19 Health Care Worker Protection Act of 2020. This policy required the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to protect health workers from exposure to the coronavirus that causes the occurrence of COVID-19. The policy was expected to protect healthcare workers and other workers considered to be at high risk for SAR-CoV-2 exposure (Congress.gov, 2020). The policy would ensure protection for healthcare workers in the private and public sectors. The policy would not only provide a temporary standard for the protection of workers during the COVID-19 epidemic but also provide a permanent measure for the long-term protection of healthcare providers from COVID-19.
The main socio-determinant of health influencing the policy is the physical environment of healthcare workers. According to Razvi et al. (2020), healthcare workers have a high COVID-19 infection because they are constantly exposed to patients with the infection. The disease can easily spread from one individual to another through behaviors such as sneezing, coughing, touching contaminated surfaces, being in crowded environments, and poor hand hygiene. While they are in their line of work, they are likely to get contact with the coronavirus in one way or another hence predisposing them to the serious effects of the disease and even death. The fact that healthcare workers spend a lot of time working in a high-risk environment with biohazard exposure increases their chances of contracting the disease at higher rates compared to the general population. For that reason, the healthcare providers ‘physical environment largely influenced the policy and measures must be put in place as recommended by the COVID-19 Health Care Worker Protection Act of 2020 to protect the healthcare workers population.
There is sufficient evidence base to support the proposed policy. Razvi et al.(2020) explored the extent of exposure of hospital-based healthcare workers to COVID-19.It was found that the percentage of healthcare workers who tested positive for the coronavirus was significantly higher (19.4%) than the general population (6.8%). The healthcare workers (HCWs) without direct patient management roles also had a high positivity rate of the virus(12.3%) compared to the general population. For that reason, it was recommended that all HCWs should be provided with adequate personal protection equipment (PPEs) to protect them from contracting the virus while on their line of duty. Atnafie et al. (2021) also acknowledged that frontline healthcare workers are directly exposed to the COVID-19 pandemic and hence are highly exposed to its infection. to Cope With the Next Pandemic

COVID-19 has revealed what many publichealth practitioners have known for sometime: our nation’s disjointed and under-
funded public health system lacks the ability to
mount a coordinated response against novel epidemic
threats. Our failure to invest in our nation’s state
and local governmental public health infrastructure,
as well as key federal programs, risks a large loss of
life from future infectious disease threats, and dur-
ing crises, jeopardizes the economy and the normal
functioning of society.
Since 2010, spending for state public health agen-
cies has dropped by 16% per capita and spending for
local health agencies has fallen by 18%.1 More than
three-fourths of Americans live in states that spend
less than $100 per person annually on public health,
compared with more than 100 times that for medical
care.1 Federal support for the Public Health Emer-
gency Preparedness Program (PHEP) and the Hospital
Preparedness Program (HPP), which are meant to
provide funding for health agencies and hospitals, re-
spectively, to prepare for a response, has declined by
30% since 2006.2 The consequences of these budget
reductions include fewer staff ready to respond at a
moment’s notice, fewer dollars available for invest-
ments in technology, and in some places, a decrease
in overall coordination between health care providers
and public health agencies.
The nation’s early response to COVID-19 showed
the country’s limited capabilities in implementing ba-
sic epidemic control steps—testing, isolating, tracing,
and quarantine. In this supplement, Hamilton and
Turner3 and Ruebush et al4 provide critical and de-
tailed reviews of the nation’s epidemiologic response

Pandemics, such as that of COVID-19, affect a large number of people, imposing new rules and social habits on them, aiming to modify the behavior that influences economic and social problems. In this context, the objective of this study was to be investigative, using the DEA tool (data envelopment analysis), seeking the efficiency of proposed and economic measures, seeking to assist them and also public policies in improving planning, trying to avoid problems such as those caused by the current pandemic. This is a cross-sectional and quantitative study, of an exploratory nature, carried out with data from the 10th. Region of the state of São Paulo, based on municipalities with 10,000, or more, inhabitants in the time interval from 05/03/2020 to 05/05/2021. This work is justified by the fact that the COVID-19 pandemic exposes structural weaknesses, economic differences and bottlenecks in the Brazilian health system, especially the lack or uneven distribution, in the territory, of health professionals and health professional, infrastructure, as well as limited production capacity, poor income distribution, the human development index and, still, the glaring differences in the GDP of the municipalities. It has been noted that 53% of the municipalities are deficient and that only 47% of them are above the average ideal efficiency rate of 0.823150. It is concluded, in this work, that the economic and social factors need to be better addressed and that social distance, the use of masks and personal hygiene must be encouraged by the representatives of the public power, in order to avoid a greater number of deaths.

In addition, the HEROES Act expands paid sick days, as well as ensuring that the family and medical leaves are long enough and addresses the issues of unemployment, nutrition and other health concerns. The impact of Covid-19 has been felt in all sectors of economies and health sectors is not exceptional. Even though numerous professionals have been affected by the virus, significant healthcare providers have succumbed to the virus on the line of the duty. According to a study conducted that assess the impact of Covid-19 on the health sector, as of April 2020, countries that reported the significant number of healthcare providers that had succumbed to the virus are Italy with 44%, Iran with 15%, Philippines with 8%, Indonesia with 6%, and China, Spain, U.S each with 4% (Iyengar et al…,2020). Healthcare providers are the first line of defense at high risk of infection because they constantly engage and interact with Covid protocols. However, it has been noticed that staff members have been violating Covid protocols such as washing hands between patients necessitating the development of a Compliance plan for COVID. In the following two sections, compliance policies for the compliance plan for COVID are outlined.

The authors further presented the "collaboration space model", to help researchers study collaboration and technology in healthcare.
In my healthcare setting, we use several health informatics methods such as pagers, mobile phones, communication system, medicine dispensing devices and barcode systems, but one that has been much applauded during this COVID 19 era is Telemedicine. I work in a psych/detox hospital.
We found telemedicine very relevant based on research results indicating that people with mental health problems are twice more likely to be frequent users of hospital emergency departments (Hunt, Weber, Showstack, Colby, & Callaham, 2006). The use of the emergency department for routine clinical care poses a huge strain on the health system because of the high cost of treatment, restricting use of the emergency department for admission of patients who really require admissions. This is also because of the associated complexity and pressure to admit patients for inpatient care (Institute of Medicine (U.S.), 2007).
Recent technological advancements have led to easy access to videoconferencing utilizing personal computers or tablets. A few research work has also been carried out using telemedicine. Patients are encouraged to check their vital signs using personal devices. Also, the introduction of asynchronous store-and-forward approaches enable clinicians review their patient without direct interaction. Also, telehomecare enables clinicians monitor their patients in their own homes (Yellowlees et al., 2010). However, since I was diagnosed later in life, I spent the bulk of my school-age years developing strategies to deal with what I thought were typical memory issues that everyone faced. By the time I entered university I knew that unless I physically wrote out my notes with a pen on paper, I would not remember them because it was too easy for me to type notes while my mind was ‘elsewhere’ not paying attention. If I needed to remember a list of things, I needed to write it somewhere I would see it repeatedly, like the back of my hand or the leg of my jeans; a list on paper in my pocket was quickly forgotten – out of sight out of mind.
The working memory model, developed by Baddeley and Hitch in 1974, focuses on the idea that working memory has a limited capacity to store information temporarily as it processes where the information is to go, such as into long-term memory to action (Baddeley, 2003). The information that is gathered falls into different subsets of the overall system, determined by the central executive: the phonological loop (spoken or written information) or visuospatial sketchpad (visual or spatial information) or the episodic buffer (a general category) (Mcleod, 2012).
Issues with short-term memory loss as related to ADHD and the working memory model comes from reported deficits in the ability to control attention and an oversaturation of information input into the central executive (Ortega et al., 2020; Mcleod, 2012). This results in information input being disorganized and not always making it to the long-term memory. Meaning, my central executive may not function in the manner in which Baddeley (2003) suggests it should and it can get easily overwhelmed, resulting in the interference of informational input and encoding. Issues with short-term memory are often considered to be as a result of decay or interference, though decay is difficult to prove due to issues with testability and overall understanding of the cause (Jonides et al., 2008).
It was explained to me that many people who have unknowingly existed with ADHD throughout their lives have developed both conscious and unconscious strategies to manage any cognitive processing issues they deal with. I mentioned writing things down as a conscious strategy that I have implemented over the years. Another strategy that I’ve used and continue to practice is repeating someone’s name back to them when being introduced. The act of saying their name out loud forces my attention to be focused on that singular piece of information, allowing for a better chance of it being appropriately encoded and therefore retrieved. Another option is to use a multisensory strategy when possible, allowing for auditory and visual input of the same information. Saying someone’s name out loud and reading it on a name tag for example. I’ve also asked people in the past .

You may use a selection from our coursework or a new source. A Strategic Approach: GenAI in Education
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

- 1. As of 1st October 2020, over 2,000 incarcerated individuals and over 700 employees in the US correctional facilities had been infected with COVID-19. As a result, the Federal Correctional Facilities COVID-19 response Act was introduced on 2nd February 2021 to the senate (“Federal Correctional Facilities COVID–19 Response Act,” 2021). The bill was introduced to curb inefficiencies noted in correctional facilities regarding testing and timely reporting of COVID-19 cases. Due to the desperate situation witnessed on a worldwide level, the Act will require correctional facilities to assess and conduct weekly COVID-19 testing and prior reporting to the relevant authorities. Centers for CDC will also be required in various correctional facilities with qualified officials to aid in managing and controlling further outbreaks on the same. Additionally, the CDC officials will be required to perform basic education on maintaining safety guidelines and ensure the Attorney General has submitted reports regularly to Congress on the developing and current efforts of combating COVID-19 in the correctional facilities. The proposed bill is satisfactory enough to guarantee its relevancy in the community due to the worrying numbers witnessed in the state daily. The policy effectiveness feasibility loop (PEFL) amalgamates epidemiological modeling, local situation formulation, and policy option appraisal in fully involving policymakers (O’Donnell et al., 2017). The COVID- 19 pandemic presents more than enough prevalence and rising death tolls that calls for immediate countermeasures for prevention that would reduce costs and associated overpopulation in hospitals that consequently, puts the patients at more risk. Evidence-based research led to the health policy that advocated for vaccination of children under the age of two years. This was due to the prevalence of attacks such as measles and tuberculosis as early as six-month-old babies (Miller et al., 2020). The case of the proposed Act has been documented by
- 2. literature that affects public safety and wellbeing. The evidence presented is not just hearsay, but rather derived from trending and documented data that is analyzed and determined accordingly by relevant professionals in the field. Additionally, the Federal Correctional Facilities COVID-19 response Act could be a stepping stone for collective intervention measures in terms of budget and personnel allocation along with the development of a long-lasting solution, such as the case with developed vaccines on the same (Williams et al., 2020).
