nationalized banks in India for jobs of
Probationary Officer(PO)..
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection
(IBPS) conducts a Common Written Examination
(CWE) on behalf of 21 nationalized banks (see list
below) as a pre-requisite for selection of
Probationary Officers.
•IBPS is only the body conducting the written
test. The vacancies in individual banks as well as
the group discussion and personal interview
process are managed by each participating bank
separately.

7. Reserve Bank of India Exam acronym as exam
is conducted by the Apex Bank i.e Reserve
Bank of India Service Board , Mumbai for
selection and appointment of RBI GR- ‘A’/’B’
officers. RBI Exam is one of the common
Banking Exams in India.
8. Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is a Central Government
Recruitment Agency, mandated for making recruitment to
group “B” (Non- Gazetted) and Group- “C” (Non- technical)
posts in various Departments, Ministries and Subordinate
and Attached Offices under Government of India.
Earlier SSC used to conduct recruitment through following
examinations.
(a) Combined Graduate Level Examination.
(b) Tax Assistant Examination.
(c) Selection Officer Examination.
(d) Section Officer Examination.
(e) Statistical Investigator Grade-II
(f) Complier Examination.
(g) Sub-Inspector in CPOs Examination
9. Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) is
conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service
Commission) every year to select candidates
for Civil Services Main Exam. Those who pass
the Mains Exam and Interview can join
prestigious Indian government services such
as IAS, IPS, etc.
Paper I: General Studies and Current Affairs.
Paper II: General Mental Ability.
10. The remuneration provided by the Public Sector Banks is
attractive taking into account the changes made by the 6th
Central Pay Commission.
The Average Basic Pay for Bank PO is Rs. 14500-25700.
Apart from the Basic Salary a Bank PO is entitled to a
number of benefits like Dearness Allowance, Leave Travel
Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Pension, Leased
Accommodation, Gratuity, Medical Benefits etc. The Total
Annual Package works out in the range of 3-3.5Lakhs p.a.
The Average Basic Pay for Bank Clerk is Rs 7200-19300
Apart from the Basic Salary Bank Clerks are also entitled to
receive emoluments as applicable to award staff under
various rules in force in the employer bank from time to
time
