The 4W Initiative at the University of Wisconsin-Madison aims to improve the lives of women globally through interdisciplinary research, education and community engagement. It coordinates numerous projects across campus related to women's health, empowerment and leadership. This progress report provides updates on several projects, including supporting artisans in Mexico and Ecuador through design collaborations and microenterprise; establishing the STREETS program to help end human trafficking through research, education and partnerships; and convening a forum on these issues to promote survivor perspectives. The overall goal is for UW-Madison to become an academic leader in addressing challenges faced by women worldwide.

It highlights that SOS helped over 15,500 students prepare for 650 exams across 22 universities through Exam-AID sessions led by 350 volunteers. The report features the chapter at UBC which raised the most funds and was named Chapter of the Year. It also provides an overview of the types of projects SOS funds in Latin America including classrooms, kitchens, and chicken coops to improve nutrition and education.

The Vice Chancellor thanks donors for enabling many projects at Warwick University over the past year. Funds helped establish the first national center for early miscarriage care and research. Donations also supported outreach programs in art, mentoring for students, research scholarships, and initiatives in Africa and India helping students. The donations are thanked for changing lives and supporting the university's vision.

This document provides information on volunteering opportunities with the University of Washington Foundation. As a volunteer, one can build relationships between the university and peers, act as an ambassador for the university at events, acknowledge their involvement in the community, make financial contributions, host university faculty/staff/students, recognize peers, lend expertise to strategic efforts, communicate stories to build relationships, participate on committees/task forces, and contribute to advocacy efforts. Volunteering allows one to make an impact and support the university's mission as a world-class institution.
2016 IASWG Symposium Highlights
Highlights from the 2016 IASWG Symposium in New York City. 11 students presented, 6 alumni participated, and 4 full- and part-time faculty participated.

Anthony McKenna transformed the University of Ulster's annual Student's Union Enterprise Project from a small competition into a larger multi-faceted campaign attracting 120 students across the university. He also established "Outside the Box" workshops which benefited an additional 300 students by developing leadership and networking skills. This led to opportunities such as running similar workshops for Hastings Hotels managers. The Vice-Chancellor's Student Fund Award helped support Anthony's work and provided a conversation starter for which he is grateful.

Washington Adventist University celebrated its 100th commencement in 2015, having been established in 1904 to prepare students for service. Over the past five years, WAU has experienced strategic transformation, receiving maximum accreditation and achieving several goals. Enrollment reached its highest level at over 1,000 students from around the world. Academic programs received external recognition while partnerships expanded opportunities for students. Several major gifts supported new buildings and scholarships. WAU is poised to become a nationally recognized learning community committed to excellence and service.

Each autumn, the Foundation hosts an Annual Meeting of Foundation Members (key stakeholders) and other constituents. Beginning in 2002, I've been charged with creating an event theme idea, to serve as the message platform for the event. Part of this concept development is drafting content for the event invitation booklet. This upload represents the content that I wrote and edited for the 72nd Annual Meeting in 2007. The graphic design was developed by a vendor.
Changemaker Campus
This document provides information about Ashoka U and their Changemaker Campus program. It discusses how Ashoka U works to promote social innovation at universities by identifying entrepreneurial change leaders, supporting the transformation of universities into Changemaker Campuses, and measuring universities' positive social impact. It lists several universities that have received the Changemaker Campus designation for embedding social innovation as a core value. Case studies then provide examples of what social entrepreneurship programs look like at specific Changemaker Campuses, such as Arizona State University, College of the Atlantic, Tulane University, and Babson College.

- 1. UQ CONTACT WINTER 2015 9 The Young Alumni Advisory Board (YAAB) is a select group of volunteer leaders who assist the University in delivering a variety of relevant services to recent graduates. Board members are appointed on a competitive basis that reflects their ability to inspire, influence and serve the greater alumni community. S tokes is also completing an MBA at UQ, as well as a Global Consulting Practicum with Wharton Business School, in addition to being a member of the Young Alumni Advisory Board (YAAB). It’s no surprise that in the collection of awards she’s amassed in her 27 years, Stokes has been named one of Queensland’s Leading Women, and won the Foundation for Young Australians’ Young and Extraordinary Award for her work in the not- for-profit sector. Stokes is in good company in YAAB, working alongside some of the University’s most extraordinary young exports, including an Australian of the Year finalist, tech start-up owners, young doctors, countless award winners, and numerous ambassadors or volunteers for a range of causes. “YAAB activities provide an opportunity for recent and young alumni to forge strong, lasting relationships with peers from their alma mater,” said Stokes. “The activities are, first and foremost, about taking advantage of the broad and diverse networks open to alumni by attending a world-class institution like UQ. “At UQ, you know you are surrounded by some of the country’s best and brightest, and being involved with young alumni initiatives in particular means you’re able to forge strong networks that can continue for life.” Stokes said working on key projects, including establishing the YAAB Philanthropy Sub-Committee, and organising the inaugural YAAB fundraising event, have been highlights of her time on the board. “Chairing the Philanthropy Sub-Committee and working with the team to promote its vision, values and purpose has been fantastic,” she said. “I also really enjoyed organising the Young Alumni Sunday Session that we held at a local microbrewery. “The event raised over $1000 for UQ scholarships, and we had a really strong attendance from current students and young alumni.” Of how her time at UQ has helped shape her ability and motivation to be involved with the YAAB and countless other initiatives, Stokes suggests her time living on campus at International House was instrumental, offering great life and career lessons to propel her forward. “Being a member of the International House Student Club Executive gave me the opportunity to experience real-world work scenarios involving people management, conflict resolution, reporting and finances,” she said. “It was a soft introduction to a real career before I was 20.” To find out more about YAAB, visit alumni.uq.edu.au/yaab.
