“XR offers a bridge between the traditional telephone call
and face-to-face interactions, allowing people to feel like
they’re in the same place when it’s logistically impossible.”
Founded in 2016, SSVAR (https://ssvar.ch) is a business
network based in Switzerland and dedicated to fill the gap
between the public and professionals in the field of virtual,
augmented and mixed reality industries.

We are leaving in an amazing time of transformation from digital
driven economy, also known as 3th industrial revolution to a
society of digital based economy. In this new form of society the
production will be not only accelerated via digital devices, but
completely based on digital private properties, digital currencies
and collaboration between human and artificial intelligent digital
machines.
Accordingly our methods of education will deeply change from
classroom cognitive content to Immersive Learning (IL) which
places individuals in an interactive learning environment, either
physically or virtually, to replicate possible scenarios or to teach
particular skills or techniques.

What factors influence the effectiveness of XR technologies for
achieving different learning goals? This is a complicated question
because the broader question of what factors influence the
effectiveness of any technology for learning is complicated.
The reason this broader question is difficult to answer is that many
factors can influence learning: the instructional technology used, the
medium of delivery, the quality of instruction, the temperature in the
classroom, the student’s socioeconomic status.
XR technology is particularly well suited for fields such as nursing,
language learning, and chemistry—fields that require students to gain
direct experience but where gaining that direct experience is a
challenge because it is dangerous, expensive, complex, or remote.
The more realistic and the higher fidelity these simulations of the physical
world are, the more valuable they are as learning environments.

continuation of the INTUITION Network of Excellence ( EC FP6 NoE) to

Immersive technologies including virtual and augmented reality are rapidly
integrating across a variety of industries including entertainment, education,
healthcare, automotive, travel, fitness,retail and corporate training. The
expansive capabilities of these technologies are changing the ways in which
companies interact with their teams and their clients, and impacting end
consumers’ expectations and demands for content delivery With more visibility of
successful XR use cases, companies are beginning to strategize larger
deployments. A successful deployment that increases brand value requires
understanding the pain points, having the right expertise on board (or on hand),
a time-budgeted rollout, and a focus on creating premium experiences that will
facilitate repeat engagement and properly interact with the targeted user.
Some of the often forgotten but critically important considerations include
adequate planning for the adoption curve, training and support staff, and
hygiene and storage. For example, lack of ongoing hygiene is a commonly
stated reason for why non-users are not comfortable with VR or AR in the first

Anyone else dealing with Zoom fatigue these days? Remote work life
doesn’t have to feel distant or stressful, as we’re in a time of great
disruption. It’s time to go beyond traditional interfacing and passive
video watching. This time is an opportunity for XR to maximize what it
does best. There are key ways XR is different than traditional in-person
work, learning and collaboration. In making this transition to embrace
XR’s potential, a new level of literacy is required. There are concrete
skills, practices, and considerations necessary so that we can thrive and
work at our best in this space. I’ll share recent findings and use cases
from my recent XR sessions at MindWise. When we hone the essential
skills needed to master XR collaboration, we’re able to interact more
fluidly, using advanced technology that mediates and supports our
relationships with others, ideas, information and even ourselves on a
personal level. This literacy spans digital, and is about each of us
applying core practices at this watershed stage.
