For some diseases, assessment of historical records in the database is sufficient
for quick and accurate diagnosis. By comparing a new medical images to similar
images available in the database, it becomes easier for the doctors to diagnose a
patient.
As the number of records in the database increases, the database can become
comprehensive and exhaustive resulting into an improvement in accuracy of a
diagnosis based on the database.
Xanadu based CBIR system provides a scalable and efficient architecture that
enables archiving of such large number of records that allows quick retrieval of
relevant records on demand at a low cost.

This demo shows the status of a digital asset called "Ford Prefect 999", which has
a history of ownership changes. A transfer of ownership like this requires the
signature of the current owner (and knowing their private key), and the transfer
blocks all the way from the creation block of the asset can be traced and verified.
Inside Xanadu the timeline data model holds all the transaction history (which is a
cryptographically securely signed blockchain) under a simple "Key" that is the
name of the asset (in this case "Ford Prefect 999").
If you need to verify things, then you pull all the data blocks out of Xanadu and
simply recompute the SHA256 signatures using the public keys of owners at any
link in the chain.
A potential application can be a medical image data market place for sharing,
transaction, exploration for AI in relation to Xanadu Based CBIR System for
automated diseases classification & diagnosis.

High throughput/High transaction rate + Additional security at the real data base level
Xanadu‘s ACID compliant enables to avoid hard forks at an API level by only accepting
a new transfer block when the current owner block is verified to be the immediate
precursor. In Xanadu timeline store there is only a “latest” block along the linear timeline,
so the new transfer block must link to just this latest one without any intervening block.
At any time the current owner of a digital asset can sign a transfer block to any other
user, and the Xanadu database’s role is to act as a fault tolerant recording system of
these transactions.
An asset management system built on top of Xanadu is able to cope with many
thousands of asset ownership changes per second, while still providing the tamper-proof
semantics of a distributed ledger.
Inherently auditable trails of ownership or business actions/transformations, with
complex querying possible using Xanadu not available to pure blockchain
implementations.

Medical Image Data Management System for CBIR Applications
Xanadu based blockchain system provides proper privacy and security for the images
stored and retrieved from the source nodes in CBIR applications:
Enable anonymous users for access to anonymous resources for maintaining privacy
Manage data access permissions over a wide area - i.e., between multiple
hospitals/institutions while implementing blockchain for transaction records security &
data base security
Secure Distributed Blockchain IoT Data Store
Xanadu based blockchain system provides a big data database in which data received
from a plurality of sensors connectively coupled with each other in the IoT network:
While maintaining features of the blockchain, the system does not compromise on the
advantages of the big data database: high speed/volume transaction for IoT data
Facilitate generation of a secured blockchain timeline element of which corresponds to
stored content in the content defined storage nodes supplemented with a hash of the
previous element thus forming a secure set of links to all previous data history stored in
the timeline and the current element.

Xanadu provides a self-healing p2p distributed storage network while automatically
detecting and repairing data storage failures. Xanadu data stores can tolerate N-1
failures out of N replication factors. Users can select the replication factor.
Xanadu’s timeline store is a resilient and scalable distributed address map/index that
has fault tolerant distributed agreement using RAFT/PAXOS implementation for
ensuring correct updates to this all-important index.
Xanadu's content-based storage system allows for elastic storage system addition (and
removal). Xanadu's design considerations allow for 1000s of nodes within each instance,
and an unlimited number of instances resulting in infinite addressble storage.
Xanadu's deduplication-friendly content based encryption technique would enable global
deduplication while maintaining security of stored data.
Xanadu's composable API enables a global storage solution, which need to be federated
rather than centrally controlled. There is some work on IPFS (InterPlanitary File System)
which has some commonalities with Xanadu design and is aimed at global storage, so
by extension of Xanadu's basic scale out concepts it would work for global storage.

By comparing a new medical images to similar images available in the database, it becomes easier for the doctors to diagnose a patient. As the number of records in the database increases, the database can become comprehensive and exhaustive resulting into an improvement in accuracy of a diagnosis based on the database. Xanadu based CBIR system provides a scalable and efficient architecture that enables archiving of such large number of records that allows quick retrieval of relevant records on demand at a low cost.   • 17. ©2018 Xanadu Big Data, LLC All Rights Reserved This demo shows the status of a digital asset called "Ford Prefect 999", which has a history of ownership changes. A transfer of ownership like this requires the signature of the current owner (and knowing their private key), and the transfer blocks all the way from the creation block of the asset can be traced and verified. Inside Xanadu the timeline data model holds all the transaction history (which is a cryptographically securely signed blockchain) under a simple "Key" that is the name of the asset (in this case "Ford Prefect 999"). If you need to verify things, then you pull all the data blocks out of Xanadu and simply recompute the SHA256 signatures using the public keys of owners at any link in the chain. A potential application can be a medical image data market place for sharing, transaction, exploration for AI in relation to Xanadu Based CBIR System for automated diseases classification & diagnosis.   • 19. ©2018 Xanadu Big Data, LLC All Rights Reserved High throughput/High transaction rate + Additional security at the real data base level Xanadu‘s ACID compliant enables to avoid hard forks at an API level by only accepting a new transfer block when the current owner block is verified to be the immediate precursor. In Xanadu timeline store there is only a “latest” block along the linear timeline, so the new transfer block must link to just this latest one without any intervening block. At any time the current owner of a digital asset can sign a transfer block to any other user, and the Xanadu database’s role is to act as a fault tolerant recording system of these transactions. An asset management system built on top of Xanadu is able to cope with many thousands of asset ownership changes per second, while still providing the tamper-proof semantics of a distributed ledger. Inherently auditable trails of ownership or business actions/transformations, with complex querying possible using Xanadu not available to pure blockchain implementations. Xanadu data stores can tolerate N-1 failures out of N replication factors. Users can select the replication factor. Xanadu’s timeline store is a resilient and scalable distributed address map/index that has fault tolerant distributed agreement using RAFT/PAXOS implementation for ensuring correct updates to this all-important index. Xanadu's content-based storage system allows for elastic storage system addition (and removal). Xanadu's design considerations allow for 1000s of nodes within each instance, and an unlimited number of instances resulting in infinite addressble storage. Xanadu's deduplication-friendly content based encryption technique would enable global deduplication while maintaining security of stored data. Xanadu's composable API enables a global storage solution, which need to be federated rather than centrally controlled. There is some work on IPFS (InterPlanitary File System) which has some commonalities with Xanadu design and is aimed at global storage, so by extension of Xanadu's basic scale out concepts it would work for global storage.
