Presentation includes population, literacy rate, major crops and exports in Pakistan. It also focuses on sustainable development/sustainability and its main characteristics, global issues,opportunities/challenges, economic impact, sustainable industrialisation and SME etc.
This is the introduction chapter extracted from the Manual “The Teacher´s Guide-Design for Sustainability” by Gaia Education. A new vision of Economics will not emerge from the economic powers and mainstream capitalist systems alone. It is not a vision to be realized only by economists or business interests. This new vision will emerge instead from the bottom up in country after country and village after village around the world as people learn to build and take control of their own economic futures, find new ways to measure their own sense of well-being, learn to manage how the Earth’s limited natural resources are to be protected and nurtured for future generations -- after all these are our and their commons -- establish new ways to distribute wealth and secure basic living standards and dignity for all, protect the health of labour, and develop a sense of unique cultural and regional identity not dictated by global trends and political strong arms.

"Sustainability Trends within Supply Chain Management" Lisa Geason-Bauer
Consumers today are very concerned about the impact products; services and the companies who produce them have on the greater world. Commercial buyers and end user consumers are looking for independent third party assurances regarding the health and safety of a specific product as well as detailed information on the supply chain that created that product. This session will focus on addressing trends within sustainable supply chain management, third party reporting/certification and environmental, health product declarations.
Sustainability is a vital issue to be tackled today. Corporate and organisations need to be concerned and be able to measure their performance based on the new measures of performance which are green and sustainable.
Sustainable Supply Chains offer a good scope for researchers .

These different tools are briefly introduced in this document, while more information on each of them is freely available on the WBCSD website. Or on my slideshare profile.
In this document, the tools are classified in categories that correspond to different stages of the journey towards sustainability: awareness raising and capacity building, understanding available tools, methodologies to help assess impacts and dependencies, and frameworks to help manage projects.
Presentation defines Sustainability, Sustainability Management, and presents some basic tools the Sustainability Professional can use to design and implement a Sustainability strategy.

Discussions about life cycle assessment (LCA) usually center around either its tremendous promise for helping us make sense of the very complex questions posed by sustainability issues, or its occasional failure to live up to that promise - and the frustrations surrounding the resources required along with the limited issue LCA is competent to address. The sustainability community has learned a tremendous amount in recent years and one can now see a coming-of-age of LCA-based approaches that are more practical, more focused and more scientifically advanced than what was available just a few short years ago. This session will focus both on explaining these developments to the participants with a set of expert speakers, as well as offering active feedback. In particular, the session will look at how LCA has been maturing beyond its core and reliable applications, such as product carbon foot-printing, into applications that address many more types of questions with more reliable information. The themes to be presented will focus on how LCA has matured in dimensions of the subjects on which it is focused, the issues it is addressing, and the scale on which it is happening.
