The unit title indicates the main topic of
the unit.
Introduction of Vocabulary , Part 1
Colorful pictures introduce the target
vocabulary and provide visual clues to
meaning. Have the students practice
writing the words under the pictures.
Practice the pronunciation of each word
3 times.
Vocabulary Practice
Ask the students to make their own
sentences about the picture, filling in
the gaps with the target vocabulary.

will assist students in developing
associations with the language and its
meaning.

target grammar. Have the students
complete the dialogs using the target

students can identify the words. Practice
the pronunciation of each word 3 times.

the target vocabulary. Students
complete the sentences to describe
what they see in the accompanying

Students look at the pictures, choose the
correct words, then write out the whole
sentence.

Comprehension and grammar practice
Students read the information and write
sentences to answer the questions.
Comprehension and writing practice
Students use the pictures as the
starting point for completing then
answering the questions. These
questions practice comprehension
and correct use of grammatical
structures.

9. Student book
Grammar and vocabulary practice/Unit
review
This is the most challenging section of
each unit and provides consolidation
practice of the target grammar and
vocabulary of the unit. Words and
grammar from earlier units may also be
reviewed here.

complete the passage. When they
are comfortable with the grammar
and vocabulary, have them move on
to the second activity where they will
write about themselves.

General review
This section recycles some of the key
vocabulary and target structures from
earlier units. For additional practice,
students can be encouraged to talk
about themselves or the world around
them using the language patterns they
have studied in the unit.
Introduction to test question types
This section of each unit provides a
great opportunity to familiarize
students with the kinds of questions
they will encounter on future tests.
