First Things First Convince  your readers to agree with your opinion on an issue that concerns you.
Prewriting Choose and take a stand on an issue. State your point of view  An opinion statement  (a thesis statement) is a statement that tells both the issue and your point of view. An opinion statement acts as the main idea for your opinion paragraph.
