What is a Personal Letter?
Personal Letter is an informal letter written
for individuals, usually only two people who
know each other
Generic Structure of a
Personal Letter
O Date
It is usually written on the top left. It shows the time
when the letter is written.
O Address
The address is written at the top right.
O Salutation & Name (Greetings & Names)
This section writes the greeting and the recipient's
name. Examples: "Dear ...", "Dearest ...",
"Sweetheart", "Darling", "My love" and others.
O Introduction (Opening)
The opening of a letter usually begins with an
opening such as a response from the previous
letter or it can also be the beginning of self-
introduction if you just started the correspondence.
O Body (Letter Contents)
This section is the content or core of the letter. In
this section, We tell all the contents of the letter
that we want to tell.
O Closure
This section indicates that the letter will end soon.
O Complimentary close
This section is a short closing expression like,
"With love". "Sincerely yours", and so on.
O Signature (Signature)
This section is placed below the complementary
close, we can put our signature or we can just
initialize our name.
