Fritz Ranch Case Study
The Fritz Ranch is in Potter Valley, California. The ranch has been in the family since 1898. The
land owned by the Fritz family runs 4,129 acres. The Fritz Ranch has been a family run
operation for 118 years. The cow calf operation was set up in 1898 by Anthony J. Fritz with 2
cows and has been expanding slowly over the years. The Fritz Ranch decided to start moving
towards an organic cow calf operation in 2005. This would allow them to reduce the number of
cows on the ranch to take care of, but increase the profit they made.
The Fritz Ranch runs an organic cow calf operation that runs on an 800 acre of their land (Harper
et al, 2). The operation produces, slaughters, packages and markets a final beef product during an
18 month cycle (Harper et al, 1). The cows are usually bred during late winter through early spring,
or November ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This means the operation is selling to a niche market. The ranch can increase the price they sell
at compared to other cow calf operations. Since many consumers are not completely informed
about the differences between organic and conventionally raised beef, the demand for
organically raised beef has increase. Since the Fritz Ranch is a small cow calf operation, they
mostly do business in the Potter Valley area. Most their final product goes to the local retailers in
the area. If the price of beef in the United States increases or decreases, then this will affect the
supply of beef of the Fritz Ranch. Global changes in the in the beef industry will not affect the
ranch that much, since most of their business is local. Change of policies about organic cattle
farms could have a significant impact on the profit of the ranch. Depending on the changes made to
organic compliance polices, the Fritz Ranch may profit or shutdown. Since the Fritz Ranch is a
small time operation, any change in policy would significantly change how the operation

Theme Of Government Control In V For Vendetta
In Both James McTeigue film V for Vendetta and Kurt Vonnegut s 2BR02B short story, In both texts
authors presents a Fraudulent government which has control over its society. In 2BR02B the
government runs the Federal Bureau of Termination gas chambers where the suicides occur. V For
Vendetta tells a story about a revolutionary character who battles to ruin, and in the long run
overthrow the apparently rightist governmentthat tenets England. James McTeigueand Kurt
Vonnegutuse characterisation, symbolism and setting to show government control over society.
Characterisation
In the film V for vendetta , author James McTeigue has displayed how the government has
enforced people to believe that freedom equals chaos, which is what the main character V wants to
expose to the nation. There is one important scene which discusses freedom it is during V s speech
to the nation, which he exposes the lies created by the government and urging people to fight
against.
V for Vendetta demonstrates rebellion against injustice through the main character V. He was a
casualty of illicit genetic testing by the government with an end goal to assist their insight about
the human body s capacity to survive epidemics. V was the only one left standing and was able
escape from the torture. His hatreds then turned into vengeance. He declared to bring justice to
the nation and overthrow the injustice of the government. Kurt Vonnegut s also maneuvers the
story to show the main character Edward wehling as the victim to the government regime.
Wehling lives in a cutting edge United States where age and illnesses were vanquished and there
were no detainment facilities, slums, challenged people, poverty, or wars. The population was at
a controlled 40 million yearly. Edward wehling attributes of being overruled come to show when
he was holding up in the hospital, arranged to give his granddad to the Federal Bureau of
Termination keeping in mind the end goal was to give one of his three kids a chance to live.
While waiting, he converses with a painter who is painting a commemoration for a volunteer
whom had died, calling it The Happy Garden of Life .

Disadvantages Of Reality Tv
Reality television (RTV) programs are one of the most famous types of television shows,
especially among teens. Statistics show that between the ages of twelve and seventeen in America,
three out of their four favourite programs are reality television programs, but people have a very
vague idea of what reality televisionis, or when to classify a certain show as a reality program.
According to Alice Hall in her paper Viewer s Perception of Reality Programs, reality program
does not have a standard definition because of its variety and diversity, but she gathered data
based on group interviews, asked them why they like RTV and what characteristics constitutes a
reality program. Basically, she proposed that the reason why it is famous is because of what is is.
She then concluded that RTV is a television programthat shows an unscripted presentation of real
people s experience that shows novelty and unpredictability to its audience (Hall). Hall also states
that there are no definite sub genres of reality televisionbut... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Competition based RTV is similar to game shows but focuses more on how human interactions
are affected while trying to win the prize. An example would be Big Brother and Survivor that
heavily relies on human relationships (and public voting) to be able to win the cash prize,
whereas in game shows like Deal or No Deal and Wheel of Fortune, contestants and their human
interactions does not affect the game at all. In contrast, voyeur based RTV is similar to
documentaries but highly accentuated the role of producers of the show. As said above,
producers use frankenbiting to create a story out of seemingly boring everyday lives of ordinary
people. Examples would be Cops that gives their day by day routine and describes their work to
the camera, which usually does not happen when they are away from

Minor Client Challenges
Ethical and Legal Challenges When Counseling Minors Working with minor clients can be
extremely challenging because of the grey areas surrounding ethical and legal issues. Two major
challenges when working with minor clients are confidentiality and reporting suspected child abuse
or neglect. There are actions taken by counselors to provide the best possible care for the minor
client, while maintaining a therapeutic relationship. As a future counselor, I am aware I will
encounter challenges pertaining to confidentiality and abuse/ neglect, however I understand the
need to make an ethical decision and use the ACA Code Of Ethicsto guide me through the journey.

through this process by using the ACA Code of Ethics Standard A.2.d, which states the counselor
acknowledges the need to balance between the parent/guardian and the minor child. A counselor
acknowledges this code with respect for Standard B.5.d, which states a counselor respects inherent
rights and responsibilities of the parent/guardian over the welfare of the minor client (Remley

Another example is when Linda moves to Boston, she has mixed feelings of joining the church s
worship ceremony. She asks herself: should they preach from their text, Proclaim liberty to the
captive, and the opening of prison doors to them that are bound ? (Isaiah 61.1) or will they
preach from my text, Do unto others as ye would they should do unto you ? (Mathew 7.12)
(1827). Linda feels lost and not sure what to do. She asks God to forgive her and relief herself
saying: the scripture says Oppression makes even a wise man mad ; (Ecclesiasters) (1827). It
looks like Linda was a good believer but she was not sure how to act in such a contradicting
world. On the other hand, Rowlandon s narrative is even richer than Jacob s with religious
tendency and Biblical quotes. Rowlandson s narrative has Christian references at least once in
almost every paragraph. Unlike Jacobs who s main purpose for her narrative is not religious but
to portray the miserable life of slaves, Rowlandson s purpose of her narrative is basically about
Christian believes. She wanted to show that redemption is both release from captivity and
assurance of salvation (Reagan). Her narrative is full of examples that show her strong believe in
God during very tough situations

The War Of The Holy Roman Empire
The Thirty Years War initiated when Holy Roman Emperor Ferdinand II of Bohemia tried to
restrain the religious activities of his subjects, triggering a rebellion among Protestants. The war
included the major powers of Europe, with Sweden, France, Spain, and Austria all conducting
campaigns mainly on German soil. The war was partially known for the slaughters committed by
mercenary soldiers, the war ended with a series of contracts that made up the Peace of Westphalia.
The outcome restructured the religious and political map of central Europe, setting the stage for the
old national Roman Catholic empire to yield to a community of self governing states. For the
occurrence of the war, the developing catastrophe of the Holy Roman Empirewas of vital
significance. The crisis had a legitimate and governmental as well as a religious component. The
emperor s privileges had never been evidently described. A ruler who knew how to misuse his
significant informal powers of benefaction could possess a major deal of authority, but a
corruptible monarch could effortlessly be diminished to a simple figurehead. This was
definitively Rudolf II s fate throughout the final decade of his reign. The aging emperor, who was
rationally unstable, was doubted by both Catholics and Protestants. Besides, he had managed to
alienate his own family. The power void produced by the failure of his authority allowed
determined princes such as Maximilian I, the duke of Bavaria, or Frederick V, the elector of

The most common campaign strategies are strategic planning, time management, political
communication, and economic management. Here in the U.S. we have different voting options, for
example we have open and closed primaries. The difference between the two are that in an open
primary any one eligible to vote may do so without having any party affiliation. Whereas in a
closed primary only eligible voters with a party affiliation may vote. A political race is funded
by a PAC or a Political Action Committee. PAC s are formed from interest groups to raise money
for a political party or candidate. There are many different types of groups for example, Economic
Interest Groups, Business Groups, Trade Associations, and also groups that promote causes and
welfare. They influence much of the political campaign because the more money they provide a
candidate with the more chances of them getting elected. There has been many speculations over
these PAC s, therefore the government has put in place various laws to prohibit any unfairness in a
political campaign. One of these methods is the Federal Election Commission which inhibits the
amount of money which could be given to a candidate running for office. As citizens of the United
States we are given many rights. For example the right to vote. Some of the current basic U.S. voter
requirements are that you must be eighteen, and a U.S. citizen. At the

Why Is Consistency Important For Children
In the answers to this topic, there are benefits for you and your children.
Benefits for your Children:
Stability. This is the #1 benefit for your children. The stability of knowing that you are there. You
are able to answer questions, fix boo boos, dry tears and offer support. Your children need you. A
lot! Consistency. Your children can rely on you. They can rely on the consistency of the way you
run your household. You are consistent with mealtimes, baths and bedtimes, organization, chores
and discipline. Children need this consistency. Consistency is what gives them routine in their lives.
We all know how important that is. Quality time. All kids need quality time with their mom.

You don t have to answer to anyone except yourself on the consistencies (or inconsistencies, for
that matter) in your working environment. No specific hours. A mom who works outside the

The Importance Of Working In An Office
Many people work in different environments, for example, at home and in an office. Some
people decide to work at home because they won t have to deal with getting up on time in the
morning or going through morning and afternoon traffic. Working in an office is the best choice
due to many reasons like becoming more collaborative and knowing when the day is over. Other
reasons for why it is better to work in an office is because you get feedback and answers very fast
and because there is not as many interruptions like at home with family. The first reason why
working at an office is better is because people are more collaborative and and innovative when
they re together. As it says in article by Fortune, they believe that people are more productive
when they re alone but they re more collaborative and innovative when they re together. Some of
the best ideas come from pulling two different ideas together . This demonstrates that whenever
you work with someone else, you have more chance to work together and create a great plan or
idea. Maradiaga 2 The next reason to why working in an office is better than at home is because
it s easier to communicate with colleagues. Some people are anti socialist so they would do good
at home but it s always an advantage because you get to meet with someone and so you have a
better interaction with your co partners. According to Work It Daily, when working at home, your

Strategic Change Management Decisions And Process For Long...
Managing strategic change is fundamental to business success
Module No: 368SAM Module Title: Strategy in Action
Student Name: Zhi Long Sia Student ID: 5225745 Strategic change management is the
management decisions and process for long term structure in the organisation. The strategic change
management defined as the process as a systematic approach for managing strategic change which
consists of positioning the firm through strategy and capability planning, real time strategic
response through issue management and systematic management of resistance during strategic

Firstly, change characteristic. Understand of the change and who will be impacted by it. Next,

Prospero s interaction with Caliban may at first be seen as cruel and inhumane. Neverthless,
Prospero does not denounce Caliban without reason and even teaches Caliban a helpful skill, the
skill of language. Prospero s relationship with Caliban shows the readers the cruel side of
Prospero while simultaneously depicting his reasonable side. This interaction is similar to the
interaction between colonists and the New World natives. Colonists would arrive on new and
unknown lands and befriend the natives to gain knowledge about the new terrain. But, once the
colonists had no use of the indigenous people, they were enslaved and used to the advantage of
the mother country. Another character that Prospero has an authoritative relationship with is the
spirit of Ariel. Nevertheless, Prospero s relationship with Ariel is less brutal than his
relationship with Caliban. Prospero also commands Ariel to do things for him that will make it
easier for him to regain his crown, however, Prospero gives Ariel an incentive for complying
with his rules. Throughout the play, Prospero promises Ariel that after he gets his dukedom

Simon Sinek s Lecture Hit It Home For Me
Simon Sinek s lecture hit it home for me. Not just because he opened up with the soldier story,
but the fact where do you find people that can emulate what Capt. William did. Capt. William was a
selfless leader. He was not looking for recognition or someone to say way to go . His action is like
do to others as I would wantdo to me . Capt. William was not working towards any form of power
but his own judgement as to what needed to be done. And if other sees him and felt compelled
to help, he was not going to turn one away, nor was he going to recruit. It was just a job he wanted
to pursue more like a fireman would. I am not sure if I agree with Simon s idea of product of your
environment . I know a lot of soldiers family and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If that is their choice to be a passive or authoritative leader, it was not to affective for me. Would
have it been great to work at a place with Ophra. I do see her being a leader that I would like to
have learned from. To have a leader who wants to shape someone to be a better person. Recalling
in the textbook, chapter 2 when discussing about job performances and the presentation about work
ethics. It all give the impression to stem from behavior and motivation. I am not sure of the whole
story with Cpt. William. But I am sure he came from a well rounded situation that felt the need to
give back. As I am sure Ophra feels that way as well. These are leaders that I would like to emulate,
ones that give back. Although I am not much of a leader, I do try to use the skills to give back and
this will allow me to build trust with the people I associate from time to time.
For me, ideas to take from Simon s lecture is a challenge. I truly do not see myself being a leader.
I feel intimidated by others for their lack of support. I do not try to lead when asked to do
something. I have the same mentality as Capt. William, I just do it because I want to do to others
as they would do to you . It was difficult with the Organizational Behavior course team. At first the

Juvenile Justice System Analysis
Throughout the world, almost every country recognizes that children who commit crimes are
different from adults: as a class, they are less blameworthy, and they have a greater capacity for
change. To respond to these differences with fairness and equity, a separate youth justice system
was established apart from the traditional court. Today, many countries have youth justice systems
to account for the fact that young offenders and adults have very different needs and
circumstances. While most countries have a youth justice system in place, the parameters that
regulate each vary extensively in some cases. For example, in Germany, you can still be tried
under the Juvenile Justice Act, even if you re 20 years old. In Canada, you would be charged...

First enacted in 1908, Canada s Juvenile Delinquents Act and its subsequent amendments guided the
structure of Canadian juvenile justice until 1984. The 1908 Act was the first law to require
different legal procedures and different sentences for juveniles. Later, Canada s 1984 Young
Offenders Act replaced the 1908 Juvenile Delinquents Act. The new legislation set the national
range for juvenile jurisdiction at ages 12 to 18. By the early 2000s, however, Canada surprisingly
had one of the highest rates of youth custody in the world. Increasingly, the costs of youth custody
were also becoming a significant fiscal burden. By 2003, the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA)
finally replaced the Young Offenders Act. Even though legislation guiding juvenile justice policy
and practice changed several times in recent decades, the current system, the YCJA, shows
considerable promise in its ability to restrict the use of secure confinement to only the most serious
and violent young offenders. Thus, also reducing the crime rate greatly in Canada. Throughout the
1900s, the practice of youth justice in Germany vacillated between rehabilitation and punishment.
Following World War I, Germany passed legislation to create a system that incorporated both
philosophies. The Juvenile Welfare Act of 1922 addressed youths in need of care and the Juvenile
Justice Act of 1923

Comparing Cinderella And Cinderella
Traditionally fairytales have morals for their audiences. Throughout time, these stories develop
themes and ideas that allow readers to discover their purpose. These versions let the audience
envision the story from a newer perspective. Modified versions reveal the underlying cause of the
storyline and its characters. It is clear that The Little Glass Slipper published by Charles Perraultin
1697 and Cinderellapublished by Brothers Grimmin 1812, display the overall modification of the
main idea. Within both tales these themes can be represented through the change in time, the
overall plot and character development. The newer purpose of modified stories is demonstrated
in Cinderella . The fairytale originated from the story, The Little Glass Slipper, which was
written by Charles Perrault. The original tale was reformed through the Brothers Grimm version,
otherwise known as Cinderella . When analyzing the tales, the reader notices that each story has
its own moral, ending and plot. Both the 1697 and the 1812 versions results in a new ending .The
original tale concludes with kindness overruling beauty. The second version concludes with the
stepsisters being punished for their actions. The moral of Perrault s version describes Cinderella s
kindness to overrule the cruelness of society. The newer versions such as the Brothers Grimm tale
display a differing moral, which is that an individual s misbehavior will be punished. These endings

Taking a Look at Game Theory
GAME THEORY
Introduction:
Game theory is the study of strategic decision making, cooperation and conflicts. The concepts
appear when the actions of several agents are independent. The agents are like groups, individuals,
firms or any combination of these. These ideology of provides a language to formulate, structure,
analyze, and strategic scenarios. Specifically, it is the study of mathematical models of conflict and
cooperation between intelligent rational decision makers. This is mainly used in economics,
psychology, logic and biology.
Definitions of games:
The main object in the game theory is the game. It needs a player to play this games. The regular
type of games are decision problem or normal form which are to be played by the single player.
Games can be described formally by various levels of the details. Coalitional game or
cooperative game is high level, specifying what numbers is given by each potential group or also
it can be obtained by the cooperation of its members. Let us take an example of parliament where
many political parties will be there. But the party which has the majority of seats in the parliament
rules the nation. This type of games deals with the relative amount of power having with the
individual players or on the division of successful coalitions.
In contrast, Non cooperative game theory is concerned with the analysis of strategic choices. In
this the timing and order play crucial role and are taken into consideration. For example if a

Essay Sylvia Plath s Lady Lazarus
Sylvia Plath s Lady Lazarus
In her poem, Lady Lazarus, Sylvia Plath uses dark imagery, disturbing diction, and allusions to
shameful historical happenings to create a unique and morbid tone that reflects the necessity of life
and death. Although the imagery and diction and allusions are all dark and dreary, it seems that the
speaker s attitude towards death is positive. The speaker longs for death, and despises the fact the
she is continually raised up out of it.
From the title, Plath gives us immediately the theme of the poem. The title is a reference to a man
in the New Testament that had been dead for four days, and was raised to life by Jesus. Plath uses
this literary allusion to establish right off the bat that she ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

(5) Plath successfully creates an perfect image of what the speaker s skin looks like as she is
reawakened from death, and still manages to tie in a disturbing historical allusion that conjures up
horrible images of death.
Later on, towards the end of the poem Plath makes reference to another set of Nazi actions and by
doing so strengthening the image of death and destruction. In lines 73 thru 78, the speaker says:
Ash, ash You poke and stir. Flesh, bone, there is nothing there A cake of soap, A wedding ring, A
gold filling.
These images and allusions to horrific crimes against humanity do an excellent job of creating
an image of death as a horrible, painful thing. Plath alludes to the burning of the Jews in large
ovens, burning them down to ash, so that nothing was left but gold fillings, and a wedding ring,
as well as makes reference to another disturbing report that some Nazi soldiers made soap out of
the Jew s as well as lampshades. These terrible images are designed to paint a wretched view of
death. Interestingly enough, these images and ideas that death is a horrible, bad thing runs
contrary to the speakers actual feelings that death is a great way to escape life, and in the end it is
all she (the speaker) really wants to do.
Although Plath uses atrocious examples of death and uses the rebirth of Lazarus as the basis of the
poem, the underlying tone presented is

Organized Crime And Corruption In Latin America
Bono, an Irish venture capitalist and philanthropist, once stated, The biggest disease is corruption.
The vaccine is transparency. Unfortunately, Latin American and Caribbean states became infected
after the end of colonialism in the 1800 s, and not a single Latin American or Caribbean state has
cured itself. On 25 January 2017, Transparency International, an anti corruptionNGO, released its
2016 edition of the Corruption Perceptions Index, which revealed that the average score on the
Index for the Latin American and Caribbean region (LAC) was a meager 44 out of 100.
Anything below a 50 out of 100 indicates that governments are failing to tackle corruption. There
are two principal reason for the rampant corruption witnessed in the LAC: the relationship
between organized crime and corruption and the region s skewered political system that creates a
breeding ground for powerful oligarchies that misappropriate power and funds to satisfy their own
desires. First, the correlation between organized crime and corruption is both a cycle and
geographical. Organized crime cannot exist without corruption, but corruption is, in part, briberies
by criminal organizations or simple businesses looking to bypass government regulations.
Moreover, Central America, due to its geographical location, is a hub of drug trafficking and
criminal gangs. With regard to the LAC s crooked political system, during the region s colonial
days it was ripe with corruption, and that trend persisted after

Summary Of The Brother
Stephen, Naomi s brother, happens to be a very unhappy man even though he feels like he is a
well known and celebrated musician. However, he is troubled despite this outward flourishing and
as a result, renounces his Japanese identity entirely. He intentionally expunges the Japanese
language from his memory and shows discomfort whenever a habit of speech, food or gesture is
exhibited. Apparently, he survived by beating down memories of his childhood and to some extent,
becomes unknowable like Naomi in the novel. He completely turned away from his family,
ethnicity and his country because of his experience on his family s separation, racismand internment.
In Obasan, each character comes to term differently with their heritage, there is Stephen, who
after being tormented and teased in his childhood of being a gimpy jap (Obasan, chapter 22), felt
ashamed of who he was and tried to completely separate himself from his root. There is Aunty
Emily who is quite utmost with the whole situation in her family and would protest against racism
and injustice especially when it comes to the issue of the Japanese Canadians. In this novel, it is
seen that the government sent letters to the Japanese families, asking them to hand over their titles
and if they refuse, it would be taken away from them forcefully and their families would be
interned in camps but it was only Emily who stood up and responded to the government by writing

Settling In The West Essay
Settling in the west After the Civil War, a dynamic period in American history opened the

this period, many Native Americans lost their homeland and their way of life. Back in the day, the

and their desire to eat meat. When Cortez defeated the empire of the Aztec and Mayan they were
rich beyond their mind, but they lacked cattle so they imported cattle to Tampico, Mexico where
there was lots of open range for cattle. Hence they created cattle ranching for meat. The cattle

All Quiet On The Western Front, German World War I
World War I differed from previous wars in the essence that technological sophistication of
weaponry such as artillery, poison gas and machine guns created a vehement war with a massive
number of casualties. In the novel All Quiet on the Western Front, German World War I veteran
Erich Maria Remarque delineates the experiences that German soldiers face on the restless front,
and the toll that the physical conditions and the mental stress take on the deterioration of the youth
of each soldierbattling on the terrain. Remarque s warnovelstrays away from the romantic and
glorifying thought of war in order to emphasize the hardships war forced upon the men who
fought for their country. The weapons that are in the hands of the men on the front lines become
their livelihood, and the terrain of the battle are the only things separating a common man and a
man marked by the scars of war. At some point, war no longer becomes a fight between enemies
from two different countries, it becomes a battle between one s self and the urge to resist barbaric
and animalistic acts when in dire situations. A wide variety of new advanced and manufactured
weapons altered the way soldiers regarded battle and the land where they would engage. Life on
the front forced German soldiers to come face to face with petrifying weapons that can critically
injured, or even kill, one within a matter of seconds. Words such as mines, gas, tanks, machine guns,
hand grenades, bombardment, barrage and curtain fire

The American General Election Cycle
With the American general election cycle in full swing, one of the fundamental issues in play is
the role of government. What is the place of Government? What should elected officials be
doing? Do they simply protect personal liberties, or do they also establish safeguards and
guidelines for various economic activities? Ask any two people and you ll likely receive two
different answers, so nuanced and complex is the issue. Policy can give incentives to business to
act a certain way both domestically and abroad. Tax incentives in one region may cause a corporate
to relocate (this happened to one of my favorite guitar manufacturers recently, as they moved
production from Canada to California!). A central bank s tweak in monetary policy to shift the cost
of lending could ultimately move interest rates for consumers looking to take out mortgages or
automobile loans. As we witnessed in 2008, the housing market is of international concern and a
large central bank wields enormous power. While we like to call the Western economy a free
market, there exists a multitude of government policies that impact the freedoms and movements of
the economy, for better or for worse. I will present two specific examples of government economic
intervention for your consideration, one that has helps economic activity and another that hurts it.

Introduction. As One Looks Through Recent Histories Of
Introduction As one looks through recent histories of the media, it quickly becomes apparent that
there has been an influx of controversies regarding the freedom of the press. Considering the age of
America, and the state of current technology, it is understandable why it is now reaching such
discrepancies. In particular, the decisions leading up to the conviction of Theodore Kaczynski,
known as the Unabomber, is one of much dispute. By taking a closer look that this case s situation,
values applied, principles upheld, and loyalties owed, one might be able to have a clear
understanding of what ethical decisions should have been taken in regard to the media.
The Situation Theodore Kaczynski, the Unabomber, was a domestic terrorist ... Show more content

Combined, these two realizations opened up the door for much commentary by journalists. This
situation became apparent, and while the action of publication could not be taken back, there was
still significant discussion about the decision making process.
Values Applied Proceeding from understanding of the situation is a close examination of the
values associated with the case. As defined by Merriam Websters Dictionary, the word value is
something (as a principle or quality) intrinsically valuable or desirable, (Webster). In application
to the case, values can be seen by all three parties of interest(the public, the media, and the
government). Clearly, the public is concerned largely about safety and the overarching goal to
bring the Kaczynski to justice. Safety an be seen as the value of nonviolence which falls under the
category of morals. While the public can not be assured that Kaczynski will not continue his bomb
making with the publication of the manifesto, they can be reasonable assured that the bomb making
will continue if it is not published. To this end, they value the preservation of life. On the other
hand, the media has a different set of values. Both The Washington Post and The New York Times
have the desire to be [independent] from the government, [and] from hostile groups who make
threats, (Christians 55). Both are reasonable utilizations of the value of professional independence.

Cultural Issues Of International Business
Culture can be defined as the sum total of the beliefs, rules, techniques, institutions, and artefacts
that characterize human populations (Ball et al, 1999 p.258). Sociologist generally talk about a
socialization process referring to the influence of social groups upon an individual, and the
interaction of that individual with other members of society. Key elements of cultureinclude
language, religion, values, attitudes, customs and norms of a group or society. Cultural issues
present a significant challenge to businesses; particularly international businesses. This is because
businesses involve people. Every business employs people, sells to people, buys from people, and is
owned and regulated by people. International people involve people from different national cultures
these cultures affect every aspect of business functions, including but not limited to: recruiting and
managing a workforce, marketing and distribution, purchasing of raw materials, dealing with
regulators, and securing funds. The challenges that cultural issues present to international business
is that of creating and nurturing cultural awareness; identifying and understanding the dynamics of
culture; recognizing behavioural patterns and practices that affect the business; and coming up with
strategies for dealing with cultural differences.
Cultural awareness can be described as awareness of the various norms, practices, and other cultural
variables of a country. This is an important aspect to

The Hypocritical Analysis Of The Canterbury Tales
In The Canterbury Tales, Chaucer illuminates the nefarious behavior by the nobility and clergy
through the satire of the discourse between their stated ideals and their actions. Chaucer exposes all
of his characters to reveal their true temperament and intentions. The characters that are criticized
are ones who manipulate those around them for personal gain or are the most hypocritical. Chaucer
has the greatest problem with the Catholic churchand their unethical means of obtaining money
but he has problems with every spoke on the wheel, which is the estate system. Chaucer uses the
Pardoner as a portrayal of the church s corruption and inappropriate infatuation with wealth. He
sees the church as fraudulent in the respect that they sell entry into heaven by way of
indulgences. The Pardoner openly admits his fraudulent sale of relics, while feeling no
remorse. He fully accepts his hypocrisy, even embracing it as he says to the other pilgrims, And
thanne my bulles shewe I, alle and some / Oure lige lordes seel on my patente / That shewe I
first, my body to warente / That no man be so boold, ne preest ne clerk / Me to destourbe of
Cristes hooly werk (260). This deception that the Pardoner partakes in is what Chaucer finds issue
with. Due to the open hypocrisy of the Pardoner the question is posed; is open hypocrisy any better
than closed? Chaucer believes that it is no better for the Pardoner to admit his shortcomings and
accept them, because he refuses to change his wicked

Comparing Movies And Viewing A Movie At Home
Both going to the movies and viewing a movie at home, are great ways of escaping with the family
from the everyday turmoil of actuality and experiencing a momentary virtual reality. But which of
the two would be the better experience? Even though there are some similarities between going to
the movies and watching them at home, there are some differences between the two, such as costs,
the types of surrounding atmospheres, and the types of movies that can be watched during the
times one wants to watch them.
The first difference in the movie experience would be costs. As all people today know,
entertainment can be a costly expense. For example, a family of three at a local AMC in Florida
can expect to pay around $29.02 with tax included for two adult tickets, and an additional $11.33
if their child happens to be under the age of 12. Keep in mind this is not the price for a 3D film or an
IMAX showing; that would be a few extra dollars (AMC Ticket Prices Movie Theater Prices). Now
that the admission is paid for, it s time to head to the concession stand and get the family snacks.
In efforts to keep the nightly costs reasonable, a small drink and small popcorn for one will cost
$8.98, so for three people it would be a total of $26.94. Finally, add an additional $5 for the family
s round trip gas expense, and the nightly total comes to $72.29 (Delgado). On the other hand, for
the family that loves to watch movies, but wants to view those in the comfort of their own home can

Skepticism In Shakespeare s Othello
The funny thing about Shakespeare is his ways of expressing the philosophical ideas in his plays.
The situation and the circumstances are created for these special dialogues for revealing his moral

gave the dramatics his universal appeal,
The society of Shakespeare had no plagiarism checks and no commercials or the television sets ,

Shakespeare through the plot of All s Well That Ends Well points the meritocracy of the society
and gives the solution by building up Helena s title for which all the chaos that occurs in the play.
Similarly in Othello the part of the great Othello, who emerges out of his social background sticks
to the audience and strives the play with the air of astonishing downfall through jealous yet the
position and title remains for the character Othello possessed. Hence Shakespeare have maintained
the plot of theses plays by the virtues life lead by the protagonists.
Colin McGinn, author of Shakespeare and Philosophy puts it, skepticism is Shakespeare s main
theme, for the possibility of error about people and the world... in its many forms is one of the
consistent subjects of his plays. In the very beginning of the play All s Well That Ends Well,
Shakespeare points the philosophy of human love and the reality of life where The Countess

  • 23. Juvenile Justice System Analysis Throughout the world, almost every country recognizes that children who commit crimes are different from adults: as a class, they are less blameworthy, and they have a greater capacity for change. To respond to these differences with fairness and equity, a separate youth justice system was established apart from the traditional court. Today, many countries have youth justice systems to account for the fact that young offenders and adults have very different needs and circumstances. While most countries have a youth justice system in place, the parameters that regulate each vary extensively in some cases. The 1908 Act was the first law to require different legal procedures and different sentences for juveniles. Later, Canada s 1984 Young Offenders Act replaced the 1908 Juvenile Delinquents Act. The new legislation set the national range for juvenile jurisdiction at ages 12 to 18. By the early 2000s, however, Canada surprisingly had one of the highest rates of youth custody in the world. Increasingly, the costs of youth custody were also becoming a significant fiscal burden. By 2003, the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA) finally replaced the Young Offenders Act. Even though legislation guiding juvenile justice policy and practice changed several times in recent decades, the current system, the YCJA, shows considerable promise in its ability to restrict the use of secure confinement to only the most serious and violent young offenders. Thus, also reducing the crime rate greatly in Canada. Throughout the 1900s, the practice of youth justice in Germany vacillated between rehabilitation and punishment. Combined, these two realizations opened up the door for much commentary by journalists. This situation became apparent, and while the action of publication could not be taken back, there was still significant discussion about the decision making process. Values Applied Proceeding from understanding of the situation is a close examination of the values associated with the case. As defined by Merriam Websters Dictionary, the word value is something (as a principle or quality) intrinsically valuable or desirable, (Webster). In application to the case, values can be seen by all three parties of interest(the public, the media, and the government). Clearly, the public is concerned largely about safety and the overarching goal to bring the Kaczynski to justice. Safety an be seen as the value of nonviolence which falls under the category of morals. While the public can not be assured that Kaczynski will not continue his bomb making with the publication of the manifesto, they can be reasonable assured that the bomb making will continue if it is not published. To this end, they value the preservation of life. On the other hand, the media has a different set of values. • 45. The Hypocritical Analysis Of The Canterbury Tales In The Canterbury Tales, Chaucer illuminates the nefarious behavior by the nobility and clergy through the satire of the discourse between their stated ideals and their actions. Chaucer exposes all of his characters to reveal their true temperament and intentions. The characters that are criticized are ones who manipulate those around them for personal gain or are the most hypocritical. Chaucer has the greatest problem with the Catholic churchand their unethical means of obtaining money but he has problems with every spoke on the wheel, which is the estate system. Chaucer uses the Pardoner as a portrayal of the church s corruption and inappropriate infatuation with wealth. He sees the church as fraudulent in the respect that they sell entry into heaven by way of indulgences. The Pardoner openly admits his fraudulent sale of relics, while feeling no remorse. He fully accepts his hypocrisy, even embracing it as he says to the other pilgrims, And thanne my bulles shewe I, alle and some / Oure lige lordes seel on my patente / That shewe I first, my body to warente / That no man be so boold, ne preest ne clerk / Me to destourbe of Cristes hooly werk (260). This deception that the Pardoner partakes in is what Chaucer finds issue with. Due to the open hypocrisy of the Pardoner the question is posed; is open hypocrisy any better than closed? Chaucer believes that it is no better for the Pardoner to admit his shortcomings and accept them, because he refuses to change his wicked ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. Comparing Movies And Viewing A Movie At Home Both going to the movies and viewing a movie at home, are great ways of escaping with the family from the everyday turmoil of actuality and experiencing a momentary virtual reality. But which of the two would be the better experience? Even though there are some similarities between going to the movies and watching them at home, there are some differences between the two, such as costs, the types of surrounding atmospheres, and the types of movies that can be watched during the times one wants to watch them. The first difference in the movie experience would be costs. As all people today know, entertainment can be a costly expense. For example, a family of three at a local AMC in Florida can expect to pay around $29.02 with tax included for two adult tickets, and an additional $11.33 if their child happens to be under the age of 12. Keep in mind this is not the price for a 3D film or an IMAX showing; that would be a few extra dollars (AMC Ticket Prices Movie Theater Prices). Now that the admission is paid for, it s time to head to the concession stand and get the family snacks. In efforts to keep the nightly costs reasonable, a small drink and small popcorn for one will cost $8.98, so for three people it would be a total of $26.94. Finally, add an additional $5 for the family s round trip gas expense, and the nightly total comes to $72.29 (Delgado). On the other hand, for the family that loves to watch movies, but wants to view those in the comfort of their own home can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
