World War I took place between 1914 and 1918. It was a fight between the Central Powers and the Allies. The Allies included America, Britain, France,
and Russia. The Central Powers were Germany, Austria–Hungary, and the Ottoman Empire, which is now considered Turkey. The United States was
involved in the war for a short period of time; it entered the war very late. There was a deadlock between the Allies and Central Powers, but Germany

During the First World War (1914– 1918) The United Kingdom was one of the Allied Powers, fighting against the Central Powers (the German Empire,

Just as a virus overrides the bloodstream, greed is a universal idea that infiltrates the mind, and is all–consuming of one's thoughts and impulses. Greed
for power is an age–old concept that spans from the earliest primitive leaders, through Ancient Emperors, to Presidents in the modern age. Brave New
World, written by Aldous Huxley, is a futuristic, dystopian novel that explores the ideas of manipulated intelligence, and what the world might be like
if social standing was determined in a laboratory. As early as the fetal stage, children in the novel withstand injections of certain levels of oxygen into

Heart of Darkness is set in the late 1800's, a time in which slavery was still considered a reasonable practice, whereas Brave New Worldis set in the
dystopian future, which signifies that greed for power is a universal and long–standing concept that will most likely not be broken in the near future.
One of the most memorable moments in which this idea is expressed is in Brave New World, when Fanny sighs, "after all, everyone belongs to
everyone else" (Huxley 48). This idea is a key concept in depicting the other side of the theme, which assesses the mental state of those who are
being degraded. Similar to John, who felt his life was meaningless, Fanny has come to the conclusion that no one in their society truly belongs to
themselves. The natives in Heart of Darkness most likely feel the same, however their oppression is so extreme, they would fear for their lives,
should they express how they feel. Unlike Heart of Darkness, however, the citizens in Brave New World have no way of protesting their
degradation, or making an effort to change it, as their brain chemistry is changed before they have the ability to do anything for themselves. The
image of the babies' "little bodies [twitching] and [stiffening]; their limbs [moving] jerkily as if to the tug of unseen wires" further illustrates that
idea, that the people of Brave New World have absolutely no control over their situation, whereas the natives of Heart of Darkness had to choose not

A world powered by electricity and lust for power within the recent years has brought the most potent and most powerful form of energy we have ever
harnessed. For years countries have worked towards finding new forms of energy and within recent times they have commercialized the most sought
after form of power. Nuclear power, a limitless form of energy that has changed our world as we know it. The power that shall bring our world to new
heights, or quicker to its destruction. Nuclear energy through the use of uranium and fission has created an inexhaustible and powerful method of
energy production. The like of which that challenges the power of suns and stars. As powerful as nuclear power may be the potential for nuclear fission
was not known until the physicist, Enrico Fermi, discovered the reaction of uranium molecules in 1934. With only a short time period of 82 years the
advancements of nuclear energy not only have made it safer, but, much more efficient. "Nuclear power is an efficient and volatile method of creating
