Computer professionals are at high risk of developing repetitive strain injuries (RSIs) due to long hours of repeated keystrokes, mouse clutching and dragging, sitting in one position, and continuously looking at monitors. Common RSIs include carpal tunnel syndrome, back pain, thoracic outlet syndrome, tendinitis, and tennis elbow. Symptoms include pain, discomfort, numbness, stiffness, fatigue, and visual strain headaches. RSIs can be prevented through proper ergonomics, workstation setup, posture, work habits like taking breaks, and stretches.
