Train employees in safe knife use and sharpening, use the right knife for each task, keep knives sharp, cut on stable surfaces, handle and store knives carefully, and use protective equipment. Don't leave loose knives on counters, try to catch falling knives, use knives for other tasks, carry knives while holding other items, play with knives, or carry knives in pockets. Wear a cut-resistant glove on your holding hand under a plastic glove that is changed regularly, and clean cuts by rinsing, applying pressure, antiseptic, and a bandage.
