This document discusses strategies for improving JavaScript performance on websites. It begins by noting that JavaScript is often the number one cause of slow web pages. It then reviews the history of JavaScript loading approaches, from loading scripts in the page head in 1995 to more modern async and deferred loading. It discusses using localStorage as a cache and the Google Analytics async snippet as examples. It concludes by recommending tools and resources for measuring and improving JavaScript performance, including WebPagetest.org, ControlJS, and Steve Souders' own site and books.
JavaScript is a client-side scripting language that makes web pages more interactive and dynamic. It was created in 1995 as a joint effort between Netscape and Sun Microsystems. JavaScript is run in web browsers rather than servers, and uses objects, variables, functions, and tags to manipulate web page elements and interact with users. It helps divide scripts into reusable parts and save time by avoiding rewriting code.
Maurizio Pelizzone gave a presentation on WordPress hardening at WordCamp Bologna 2012. He discussed various dangers to WordPress sites like information collection, brute force attacks, and exploits. He then provided solutions like deleting readme.html, preventing user enumeration, hiding admin URLs, restricting PHP execution, using strong passwords, changing the directory structure, and using blackhole and file monitoring plugins.
JavaScript is a scripting language that adds interactivity to HTML pages. It can dynamically manipulate HTML elements, validate user input, and respond to events like mouse clicks or page loads. JavaScript code can be embedded directly in HTML files or linked via external .js files and placed in the <head> or <body> sections. Common uses of JavaScript include displaying popup boxes, handling form validation, and dynamically updating content.
Learn the core fundamentals of HTML and CSS in this beginner Course & develop your own website independently. HTML & CSS can be a complicated language to understand, but it doesn’t have to! HTML & CSS are core components when it comes to development and are often required as a per-requisite for learning any language or technology.
Java Script is one of the most pervasive languages found on the internet and World Wide Web. Java Script is useful in making web pages more interactive. The pages can be made to react to the actions of the users in the form of special effects, both visual and otherwise.
Have you ever worked on a website that displayed data dynamically? Are you tired of putting HTML markup inside Javascript?
Chances are you’ve looked into using what’s known as an MV* framework. These kind of frameworks aim to help reduce the effort in binding Javascript and JSON data to the user’s screen.
Learn more about 3 of the most popular frameworks being talked about in the developer community: Knockout (by a Microsoft employee), Angular (by Google), and Ember (by a Rails and jQuery contributor).
We’ll compare and contrast these frameworks and how they ranked against our criteria in building a client-side heavy application that updates its data in real time.
TypeScript, Dart, CoffeeScript and JavaScript ComparisonHaim Michael
Following the emergence of ECMAScript 2015 many developers wonder about the added value of using TypeScript. The same apply for many other programming languages that transpile into JavaScript, such as CoffeeScript, Dart, Scala.js, ELM and others.
During the meetup that took place on September 7th we conducted a detailed comparison between TypeScript, Dart and CoffeeScript as well as their added value comparing with writing our code in ECMAScript 2015.

AngularJS is an open-source JavaScript framework maintained by Google that was developed in 2009. It allows for the creation of browser-based applications with MVC functionality using client-side JavaScript. AngularJS aims to simplify development by allowing HTML elements to declaratively specify their logic and functions, reducing the need for JavaScript code. Key features include two-way data binding, directives to add new HTML elements and attributes, filters, and controllers to manage the view and application scope.
This document provides an introduction to coding and web development. It discusses HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and how to structure them using concepts like the box model. It promotes Thinkful, an online coding bootcamp, and describes their curriculum and mentorship approach. Links are provided to free coding resources and a two-week trial for Thinkful's program.

This document is a presentation about JavaScript that covers what JavaScript is, where it came from, and what it can do. It introduces JavaScript as a scripting language that is easy to use and learn and runs in web browsers. The presentation explains that JavaScript is unrelated to Java but borrows some naming conventions. It provides overviews of JavaScript basics like variables, operators, and functions, as well as more advanced topics like objects, events, and DOM manipulation.

Unfortunately, stacking software against one another doesn’t solve all your problems. Any small or medium business must take on an analytical role and consider each advantage and shortcoming to determine best.
PHP may not be as event-driven or fast as Node.js, but maybe database connectivity will be a significant factor in the specific software you choose to build. Depending on the project and the vision you have in mind, you have to choose the right option.

Managing WordPress websites can be challenging and exciting. A new category of companies have been launched over the past several years that help WordPress-powered website owners with hosting, fixing, developing and fitting WordPress solutions into existing businesses. Managed WordPress hosts ensure your WordPress websites are reliable, secure and well-maintained. Managed service providers help your business by orchestrating WordPress with other cloud tools, creating new business solutions that help you run your business. Another category of providers provide on-demand, overnight fixes for WordPress problems at an incredibly competitive cost. Finally freelancer sites now specialize in WordPress development on a global scale.
In this presentation, Alex Sirota (@alexsirota), Director of NewPath Consulting (@newpathtech) and Robin Macrae (@robin_macrae) will describe the different types of WordPress management service available on the market today.
This will be a non-vendor biased presentation that will help web developers, designers and their customers understand the value proposition of the myriad of WordPress-centric services. These services can help you shift your website management from manual to automatic. We spelled “Automattic” correctly in the title of this presentation. It is a humorous reference to Automattic, the for-profit company that helps to manage the WordPress ecosystem and provides an array of managed services we will cover in the presentation.

Website templates are pre-designed webpages that allow users to add their own content and images without needing advanced coding skills. They are usually built with HTML and include text, images, animations, forms and other features. There are different types of templates including those for desktop and mobile in responsive, adaptive, or mobile-optimized formats. What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG) editors allow users to see changes in real-time as they build and format pages without coding. Popular WYSIWYG platforms and editors include WordPress, Wix, and Dreamweaver.

HijackLoader Evolution: Interactive Process HollowingDonato Onofri
CrowdStrike researchers have identified a HijackLoader (aka IDAT Loader) sample that employs sophisticated evasion techniques to enhance the complexity of the threat. HijackLoader, an increasingly popular tool among adversaries for deploying additional payloads and tooling, continues to evolve as its developers experiment and enhance its capabilities.
In their analysis of a recent HijackLoader sample, CrowdStrike researchers discovered new techniques designed to increase the defense evasion capabilities of the loader. The malware developer used a standard process hollowing technique coupled with an additional trigger that was activated by the parent process writing to a pipe. This new approach, called "Interactive Process Hollowing", has the potential to make defense evasion stealthier.
