March On Washington Essay
On August 28, 1963, the historic March on Washington, also known as the March on Washington
for Jobs and Food took place. It drew more than two hundred thousand people to the Lincoln
Memorial in Washington, D.C.. It was a political rally that would bring notice to the injustices
faced by African Americans across the country. This event is widely regarded as a milestone in the
history of the American civil rights movement. It would be during this protest that Martin Luther
King Jr. would give his famous I Have A Dream Speech that emphasized his belief that someday,
all men and women could be joined together in peace. The speech cemented his status as a social
change leader and helped influence the nation to act on civil rights for African... Show more content

The march was planned to begin in Selma, Alabama and end in Alabama s capital, Montgomery.
Police with nightsticks and tear gas stopped the protesters as they tried to cross the Edmund
Pettus Bridge. King was not present in this march, but the attacks were televised. People at home
watched as marchers were beaten bloody and severely injured. Seventeen of the marchers had to
be hospitalized after the event. Due to all of the occurring violence, the day became known as
Bloody Sunday. A second march was planned, but would be cancelled due to a restraining order
preventing the march. The third march was organized and Martin Luther King Jr. made sure to be
included. King received support from President Lyndon B. Johnson in this demonstration. He found
a way around the restraining order and a different action was taken in the third march. On March 9,
1965, King and 2,500 marchers, both black and white, set out to cross the Edmund Pettus Bridge
and were met by barricades and state troopers. Instead of reacting in a violent way and facing
confrontation, King instructed the marchers to kneel in prayer. When finished praying, he and all
of the marchers turned and went back the way that they came. This march caused a loss in support
from some younger African Americans, but nonetheless the march led to the passage of the Voting
Rights Act, which guaranteed the right to vote to all African

Essay on German Genocide Target
It is hard to picture that along with others that, 6 million Jews were targeted and killed during the
Holocaust. It is astonishing to realize how racist and cruel the Nazis acted towards the Jews.
According to A Teacher s Guide to the Holocaust, once Hitler was in control of the German
government he translated his harsh feeling toward Jewsinto many policies and statutes which
eroded the rights of German Jews from 1933 1939 ( Victims ). The anti Jewish racist legislation
passed The Nuremberg Laws in September, 1935. These laws made an extremely in depth Nazi
definition of who was Jewish. A lot of people who did not think of themselves as Jewish were now
being seen as targets of Nazi discrimination. Jewish is not seen as a race,... Show more content on

I think many German people and Nazis were pressured to join the Nazi Party in this mass
murder because, if found or caught helping out the Jews in any way they were considered
traitors and possibly killed as well. Jews and only the Jews were singled out for total elimination.
Even though the Germans did not want a few groups in their way, they did not want to kill them
off. The ideal of reducing inferior Polish and Russian populations to create space for a stretched
out German Reich would not be realized, but the elimination of as many Jews as possible from the
world stage stayed Germany s all time major concern, to which resources sustained to be directed
even as the war was being lost. Nor were the Jews given a opportunity to change or correct their
customs. The Nazis did not want the Jews to inner mix with Germans so they created a law. At
no point in time, for any reason was a Jew allowed to break these laws, or they would be torture,
maybe even murdered. According to the Commentaries to the German Racial Laws of 1936, The
Blood Protection Law deals with the segregation of Jewish and German blood from the biological
point of view... As an acute danger threatened the German people from Jewry alone, the law aims
primarily at the prevention of further mixing of blood with the Jews ( The Yellow Star 4). When
Jews rights were being taken away, a lot of Jews attempted to run away from Germany, and
thousands succeeded

Amyloid Precursor Protein Essay
Amyloid precursor protein (APP) has many functions and regulations. This protein is involved in
neural development. Many may know it for its involvement in the pathology of Alzheimer disease
as well as other neurodegenerative diseases. However, APP is a developmental gene. This gene
regulates neurons, their differentiation as well as migration. This gene is also involved in neurite
outgrowth and the regulation of synaptic function (1). Despite knowledge of these functions, many
functions of APP is still unclear (2).
Structure:
APP is a member of conserved type 1 membrane proteins which also includes amyloid precursor
like proteins 1 and 2, APLP1 and APLP2 (human), Appl (fly), and apl 1 (worm). They each contain
a large extracellular ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Additionally, studies have also demonstrated a role for APPs in regulating stem cells. APP
encourages the differentiation of neural stem cells into astrocytic lineage (2). In human embryonic
stem cells, the over expression of APP or its soluble forms causes fast and strong differentiation
towards a neural fate (1). Another function of this protein that have been found in some studies
was that APP was shown to undergo rapid axonal transport to synaptic sites. Moreover, APP was
found in vesicular sections of dendrites and axons. This suggests a possible role for APP in
synaptic function (1). These functions of APP are shown to be involved in neural development.
Therefore, APP is a complex protein that posses many functions, many of which are still not very
well understood.
Fig 1: Summary of the roles of APP and its metabolites during neural development
As mentioned earlier APP is found to be involved in neural development. The functions discussed
above have shown how. During early development, the expression pattern of APP in neuroblasts
and neurons in the neural tube suggests a role in neurogenesis, including neural proliferation,
differentiation and axonal outgrowth (7). Figure 1 shows neural development from early stages. It
shows how APP and APP metabolites play important roles during the different stages of neural
development. The stages range from neural proliferation to the formation of a functional synapse.
The metabolites that posses

The Old Man And The Sea Essay
Ernest Hemingway is one of the greatest writing icons of the early to mid 20th century. Known
mainly for his success in writing the critically acclaimed novel, The Old Man and the Sea,

beginning of his writingcareer, he has been putting these allusions and important uses of the bible
into his work. Critics of these works such as, The Old Man and the Sea, have discovered and have
been aware of these references and parallels for some time. Some critics have always believed
these biblical allusions to be just coincidence or false. Evidence will be shown of these writings
and analyzed to show how they translate to not only to the book but also to Hemingway s life.
Almost 20 years of Hemingway s life was spent living in Cuba. He often visited Cojimar, which

Juvenile And Juvenile Delinquency
Juvenile delinquency is a social issue in the United States today. Juvenile delinquency, is when a
violation of the law is committed by a juvenile and is not punishable by death or life imprisonment

most juvenile delinquents are from the age of ten to the age of seventeen (Juvenile Delinquent).
Once the delinquent or anyone is at the age of eighteen, they are considered to be an adult.
Therefore, in the justice system they are tried as an adult. There are many different reasons why a
child would commit crime, such as mental and physical factors, peer influence, home conditions,
neighborhood environment and school conditions. Teens are greatly influenced by the interactions
and surroundings they are around. Their behaviors can result from the parent and/or their peer
influences. Parents play a great role in the child s life and a teen s peers also play a strong role in
how the teen behaves when the parents are not insight. This research will examine links between
the social environment of teens and how it influences the teens actions and behavior which leads
them to commit an offense.

A Rose For A Slave Girl By Harriet Jacobs
The book Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl, tells the story of a slave girl named Linda Brent
who fought many mental and physical battles throughout her life in order to oppose the system of
slavery. This autobiography was written by Harriet Jacobs, known in the book as Linda Brent, and
uses a multitude of psuedonyms in order to conceal the identity of those within the book. Harriet
Jacobs had succeeded in putting forth a new, unconventional slave narrative that depicted the
emotional and mental anguish slave women were subjected to on a daily basis. Through sexual
victimization by their masters and the ever present maternal fear of losing their children to the
slave trade, slaverywas a far more terrible fate for women than for men. Throughout her twenty
seven year life of being a slave, Harriet Jacobs attempted to defy the idea and social structure of
slavery at every turn. Harriet Jacobs s early life was spent with her mother and father, both
prosperous slaves. Jacobs states that she was shielded and never dreamed I was a piece of
merchandise (29). When Jacobs s mother died she was sent to her mother s mistress. This
mistress turned out to be quite kind and Jacobs was always glad to do her bidding, and proud to
labor for her as much as my young years would permit (32). Jacobs s childhood was an important
part of her growth, as she found her self worth and confidence; a luxury most slaves did not have.
This concept of self worth will be key in the struggle

Analysis Of Innovative Hr Strategy For Developing Healthy...
Part A Human Resources approach performs an extremely essential function in creating and
maintaining competitive advantage; many organizations disregard the importance of HR in
creating competitive advantage. The three priorities will require major transformation in the
organization. HR strategy should support the conversion, and help the workforces to acclimatize in
different environment. One major objective of the innovative HR strategy will be to create a

operation. Leadership plays enormously important role in developing healthy organizational
culture. (Dessler, 2013) Furthermore, the innovative HR strategy will provide the workforces a
platform where they can express their opinion, thoughts, recommendations, and perspectives for
the conception of a more productive workplace. The workforces can also share their views on
how to create a supportive organizational culture. The personnel will likewise share their ideas and
recommendations on improving processes, cutting expenditure, reducing waste etc. Availability of
such platform will improve employee satisfaction, create a sense of ownership, involve employees
in decision making, and motivate employees to achieve their individual as well as organizational
goals. (Dessler, 2013) Additionally, the modernistic HR strategy will develop a workforce planning

As pointed out by the company s vision, the concept of Five Guys is to create a brand identity that
is focused on familiarity and a close customer relationship. Implementing this business concept in
Asia requires a certain mind set, which is currently observed in the process of establishing an Asian
community, namely ASEAN. There are benefits that derive from a closed economical community,
these are the free flow of goods, services and capital. Taking these into account, Five Guys will only
focus on the ASEAN countries.
The report will open with an overview of the product offerings, will continue with providing
information of the key attributes every store is based upon and then will start with giving a formal

South East And Laddakh And Pakistan
In 1943, he got married with Shareen Amin Begum, who was left by Bhutto to remarry again.
Bhutto married again an Iranian Kurdish woman named Begum Nusrat Ispahani in Karachi on 8th
Sept., 1951. His political career mainly started in the year 1957, when the Bhutto became the
youngest member of Pakistan s delegation to UN. In the year 1958, he became the youngest
PakistanCabinet Minister under President Ayub Khan. He was famous for his demagogic styles of
speech, which brought him to national prominence and popularity.
His rise in politics and higher echelons of power was due to his mysteriously sharp mind coupled
with cunning desire to be on the top of the national politics. His astute political manoeuvrings can
be gauged from the fact that on the eve of India China war in 1962, the rulers of China invited
Pakistan to jointly dismember India by attacking on North East and Laddakh and Pakistan from
Jammu side in Jammu and Kashmir to grab the maximum territory. Pakistan could fulfil their wish
by taking Kashmir and China would grab entire North East to come closure to Indian Ocean. Bhutto
disclosed the plan to General Ayub Khan the President of Pakistan but got rebuked for such a
loathsome and outrageous suggestion, rather was suggested that Pakistan should have Joint
Defence Agreement with India. Bhutto was aghast and made a sorry exit, calling Ayub Khan a
political bankrupt.

Unregistered land is the title that is established from old fashioned title deeds and is not to be

land for which the title must be proved from the conveyancing of history of the land by the title

doesn t mean that land doesn t have the opportunity to be registered. For this question the rights

In this case Lord Oliver held that the relevant time for determining occupation was the date of
completion of the transaction rather than the date of registration as the acts of moving in were not
sufficient to constitute actual occupation. In this case we can see that Kate s interest wasn t
sufficient even though it wasn t overreached but she didn t have actual occupation as she wasn t
living there and she wasn t in the country when the Bungalow was bought.
Next we have to consider whether when Alexander confronted Darryl on trespassing and Darryl
showed the agreement from 2004 that allowed him to pay rent to lease the land; this means we are
asking the question as to whether this is allowed. Firstly we consider that one of the main motives
for letting the property is so that they can generate an income through the payment of rent, this can
be seen as Richard received a payment of ВЈ100 per month from Darryl so that he could use the
workshop. Lord Templeman in Street v Mountford (1985) included rent as part of the definition
of tenancy; Section 205(1) (xxvii) of the Law of Property Act 1925 provides that a term of years
means a term of years whether or not at a rent. This means certain types of leases need to be
supported by rent in order to qualify for statutory protection and this is

An Expanding World Population And A Degrading Earth
An Expanding World Population a Degrading Earth The world is currently home to around 7
billion people, but only a century ago there were only about 1.6 billion people living on it. It is
estimated that the world population will soar to approximately 9 or 10 billion within the next forty
years (Lambert 6). Along with the increasing global population, climate change and water scarcity
are also burdening the survival of our planet (Lambert 5). The FAO has warned that agriculture
must produce 70% more food within the next 40 years to feed our expanding population, but the
world s resources and land are dwindling as quickly as the population is expanding (Lambert 5).

A balance must be achieved as agriculture accounts for 30% of income in developing countries and
without food production, the current world population could not survive (Munesue 9). How is
humanity supposed to feed its future self of 10 billion people without destroying itself through
overuse of its Earth?
Is Food Security a Human Right? There are more hunger related deaths each year throughout the
world than AIDS malaria, and TB combined (Lambert 4). 25,000 people die everyday due to
hunger related deaths (Lambert 4). The International Conference on Nutrition in 1992 and the
World Food Summit in 1996 emphasized the importance of access to safe and nutritious food
being recognized as a fundamental human right (Lusamba 3). It has been an established principle
that a country s rate of food insecurity is directly related to system of governance (Lambert 7).
Democratic societies have much lower rates of food insecurity than those countries with more
authoritarian governments (Lambert 7). In this paper, food insecurity is defined as a condition in
which an individual or population does not have access to safe culturally appropriate food that
meets their caloric and nutritional needs. This paper is a study of the current state of food

Hey! Have you ever thought of becoming a sonographer? Do you even have an idea what a
sonographer is? Have you ever thought of looking into someones body and look inside their
stomach? Especially at a embryon? Well here in this paper you will find out every little thing about
becoming a sonographer.
Paragraph 2; Education
The education for this career is really simple and easy. You need to have a formal education, and an
associates degree or just a certificate of a training program. but many of the employers also require
a professional certification. It may also depend on what kind of degree you want it will depend on
how many years you will like to get profession in this career but, to get the profession of being a

. Another advantage is that you will be in touch with you patients you will have to listen to what
they have to tell you. What i m actually saying about this is that many of your patients will get
emotional and you will have to be there to support them. Just as there is advantages there is also
disadvantages. One of the disadvantages is that you may have to work over time you will be
standing up 98% of the time. You might also have to work night shifts depending on what hospital
you actually get a job at. but in my opinion i feel like being a sonographer is amazing.

Symptoms And Treatment Of Skin Cancer
In recent years incidence of non melanoma skin cancer and actinic keratosis (AK) has increased.
The tumours are treated with the help of chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgery, and topical therapies
to manage superficial carcinoma and actinic keratosis. This review briefs about skin physiology,
non melanoma skincancer, relationship between actinic keratosis(AK) and skin cancer, different
drugs used in dermal preparations for management of actinic keratosis and novel approaches for
targeting drugs to skin neoplasm and actinic keratosis are discussed.
Introduction :
Development of skin cancer is most commonly seen in Caucasian popoualtion(1) (Bradford PT.,
2009).Damage of DNA due to ultraviolet radiations lead to formation of such type of cancer.
Actinic keratosis (AK) is also called as Solar keratosis or Senail keratosis.
AK severs as a marker for an increase in nonmelanoma skin cancer (NMSC), even in the absence
of any specific lesion progression. The risk for progression of AK to invasive SCC with the
potential for metastasis provides the rationale for treatment(2) (Ibrahim and Brown, 2009). Early
diagnosis should be done for treatment of patients with skin cancer. Anticancer drugs administered
orally or by the intravenous route are associated with serious side effects when given systemically.
Topical dosage forms deliver most of the drug locally with fewer side effects compared with other
routes of administration.

The War Era Of Hawaii

Causes Of The Black Death In Europe
The fourteenth and fifteenth centuries were a particularly dreadful time in Europe. The fourteenth
century was so bad it is regularly referred to as the calamitous century. During this timeframe the
Hundred Years War between France and England occurred. Additionally, there were major
upheavals in the power and structure of the Catholic Church. Finally, the Black Deathwiped out an
estimated one third of the population of Western Europe. This Black Death or Bubonic Plaguewas
the primary cause of the massive economic and social changes in Europe during the fourteenth and
fifteenth centuries. The sheer number of deaths attributed to the plague led to a series of other
unfortunate events such as famine and war that compounded the problems and led to the calamity.
The Black Death was so well known that it shaped basically all vestiges of art and literature from
this timeframe.
The first major European outbreak of the plague occurred 1347 in Italy. The plague is a
bacterium carried by fleas. It likely originated in Asia, but shipboard rats carried diseased fleas
to Europe where the densely populated and unsanitary conditions made it catastrophic. The most
common bubonic plague results in dark colored buboes (swollen lymph glands in the armpits
and groin). These black or dark spots led to the name Black Death because most people who had
the swollen dark spots died. The medicine available to people during this time was of no affect. In

Yet the truth is that magazines such as Hans have been increasingly publishing Dalit literature as
a matter of course. The publication of the 2004 special issue proved to be one of several rallying
moments around the same time for this large and diverse community of writers, activists and
intellectuals; as well as a popular legitimisation of sorts of the hard work this community had
been doing for years to carve out a space in the world of Indian literature to articulate the
experiential and political perspectives of Dalits. The mainstreaming impact of this kind of
publication could be seen when, five years later, in August 2009, Navaria again edited the annual

Hindi literature, of which Dalits are a part. But 2004 also provided a very public moment of dissent
within the Dalit writing community, which highlighted the fissures and crystallised many of the
debates over notions of political and literary authenticity. On 31 July of that year, members of the

deaths in the United States every year. It is really urgent that we need to understand the biofilm
formation so that we can develop novel antibiotics. People have found out that there are some
signaling molecules, which are critical for biofilm formation. However, we do not know how the
distributions of signaling molecules determine individual cell fate during tolerance and persistence
development. Studying the spatial and temporal distributions of signaling molecules in single cell
level will help us understanding the mechanism of biofilm formation.... Show more content on

Spinach was discovered using the Systematic Evolution of Ligands by Exponential Enrichment
(SELEX) technique against DFHBI immobilized on agarose resin. People have developed
Spinach based sensors against adenosine, ADP, S adenosyl methionine (SAM), guanine, cyclic
di GMP (c di GMP) and GTP using existing aptamer sequences. A key challenge for RNA based
sensors is that they normally function poorly in cells. This is because RNA is easily degraded
by nuclease and also has poor folding in intracellular. Poor folding RNA can be contributed by
many elements, such as the difference folding structures and thermal instability, or rely on ion
concentration. Later people developed 49 nt long aptamer Broccoli, which has brighter green
fluorescence upon binding DFHBI. Folding of Broccoli only needs low concentration of
magnesium and the Mg2+ presents low amount in body so Broccoli can fold better than Spinach.
Broccoli also has a higher thermostability than Spinach. Additionally, Broccoli does not require a
tRNA scaffold to promote its folding in vivo. However, under cellular imaging conditions, Spinach
and Broccoli show greatly reduced fluorescence compared with nominal brightness. It has been
known that the fluorescence decrease of Spinachв€’DFHBI is not due to irreversible
photobleaching like GFP. It is caused by reversible conversion to a non fluorescent state and the
signal can be recovered

Similarities Between Game Of Roses And War Of The Roses
A Marriage between Roses and Thrones
A marriage is usually perceived as two people in love and bind themselves together with an
unbreakable bond. However, in the medieval age, political marriages were more often than a
love between couples. Both the Wars of the Roses and HBO s Game of Thrones, political
marriages occur in order to lead to personal gain and conduct strategic planning for one s
kingdom. In HBO s Game of Thrones, a scene from season 3, episode 5 shows Tywin, Tyrion, and
Cersei discussing marriages in a manner which exemplifies the significance of political marriages
compared to the Wars of the Roses, between Margaret of Anjou and Henry VI, especially through
close up shots, lighting, and sound. When watching the fifth episode of season 3 of Game of
Thrones, Tyrion, Tywin, and Cersei discuss how they can use marriages so the Lannisters can
secure the North and it can be done if Tyrion marries Sansa Stark. This is comparable to
Margaret of Anjou and Henry VI. Margaret of Anjou marries Henry VI and thus as stated in The
War of the Roses, Marrying Henry to the French king s niece seemed to serve two greater
purposes: it would bring England a diplomatic and military truce in the French wars and it would
enable Henry and Margaret to rebuild the dwindling stock of the English royal family. (Jones 84).
As seen, the two of them getting married would give them exactly what they need to get a truce
between the two countries and kings. Similarly, if Tyrion were to

The Causes of World War I Essay
The Causes of World War I World War I was the result of certain countries aggression towards
others and by the rising nationalism of the European nations. Economic and imperial competition
and fear of war triggered military alliances and an arms race, which further escalated the tension
contributing to the outbreak of war. At the settlement of the Congress of Vienna in 1815, the idea
of nationalism was ignored to preserve the peace. Germany and Italy were divided into states but
nationalist changes and revolutions led to the unification of Italy in 1861 and that of Germany in
1871. Another result of the Franco Prussian War of 1870 71 was that France was left furious over

Slavs kept Bismarck s successors from renewing the agreement with Russia. France took advantage
of this opportunity to get an ally, and the Franco Russian Entente was formed in 1891, which
became a formal alliance in 1894. Particularly the large navy William II was building contributed to
British distrust of Germany. As a result, Britain and France overlooked imperialistic conflict

With the rise of the Realism period brought in the notion of seeing and reading what is truly
happening in the world. This era was brought forth as a counter to the Romantic period of writing
which focused more on the imaginative. The writing belief of the Realism period involved showing
the truth while avoiding implausible, exotic, and supernatural elements that where seen in the era s
past. Often times this is used to show the ugliness of society specifically the middle class, who is
often viewed as ones trying to live above their means. During this era many prominent writers
found there calling ranging from Mark twain who wrote stories like The Tales of Huckleberry
Fin to Gustave Flaurbert who wrote stories like Madam Bovary . This story is Flaurbert s way of
showing his disdain in the rise of the middle class. With the belief that the middle class where

Personal Core Values And Beliefs
Situation
Where s the line between keeping your board informed and burdening the board with running the
day to day business?
Personal Core Values and Beliefs
It is important for board members to have some insight into the day to day operations of the
organization since they technically are volunteers and donors. They dedicate time to governing the
organization and financially contribute their own money and/or encourage others to do so.
However, board members are generally busy people who do not have the time for all of the minute
details. They want the overview to make the necessary decisions on behalf of the organization and
not be overwhelmed with details and the normal tasks that the staff would handle.
I am running into the lack of nonprofit board understanding by my board members. They believe
that I have the ability to oversee the organization, much like a CEO and President of a for profit
venture can. Therefore, I believe that most of them have no interest or time to really assist with
day to day operations, and I am accepting of that since I believe that their connections and networks
will provide great value.
Nonprofit Industry Norms and Standards
In the nonprofit industry, the board of directors serve as public trustees accountable to the public at
large for the governance of the organization. The board is tasked with the fiduciary duties of duty
of care, duty of loyalty, and duty of obedience (Standards for Excellence, 2014). To fulfill the duty

There has been conflicting research and advice about the safety of hormones with the increase in
the aging female population within the last twenty years (National Institute on Aging). Hormone
therapy has demonstrated to be the most effective FDA approved medication in the relief of
menopausal symptoms, but these benefits must be weighed against serious adverse effects that
hormones can cause. Although many women differ in their response to hormone products, MHT

Although, estrogen is produced by other organs in the body, estrogen output is significantly
decreased in premenopausal women, and progesterone becomes nearly absent. Symptoms can
emerge as the female body adjusts to the decrease in estrogen levels as a result of natural or
surgical menopause. Conversely, some women may experience no symptoms where others may
experience one or all. Inadequate estrogen levels can also contribute to changes in the vaginal and
urinary tracts, which can cause painful intercourse and urinary infections. Symptoms may last for
several months or years and have been reported to vary greatly in onset and severity. Fleeting hot
flashes, night sweats, and fatigue are the most frequently communicated symptoms. Osteoporosis, a
condition characterized by decrease in bone mass and density, causes the bones to become fragile
and is a long term condition associated with menopause. Menopause is not a disease or a disorder
that requires treatment in all causes. For some women many of the symptoms associated with
menopause will subside over time. However, there are women who struggle with coping with their
symptoms and as symptoms persist and progress they begin to decrease the quality of life. There
are options for treatment of menopausal symptoms. Doctors may recommend Menopausal

Wilfred Owen s Dulce Et Decorum Est, Tim OBrien s The Things They Carried, and Siegfried
Sassoon s Suicide in the Trenches
Many war pieces express a distinct sense of truth, hatred, and anger that can be found in the style,
tone, and imagery they possess. Incredible images are created in ones mind as war writings are
read and heard. Works written by such writers as Siegfried Sassoon, WilfredOwen, and Tim OBrien
really reach out to the audience by way of the authors choice of words and images that they use in
their writing. These talented writers create very touching and heart felt images as they write about
the true occurrences, problems, feelings and emotions that soldiers encountered throughout times of
war. It is by way of these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Owen similarly guides the tone of his writing very carefully, choosing the perfect words and
punctuation to emphasize or stress certain aspects that he had in mind to be expressed. Owen
also tries to give the poem a serious tone to it by exclaiming, Gas! Gas! Quick boys! But
someone still was yelling out and stumbling As under a green sea, I saw him drowning (Gioia
782). He wants the reader to understand what serious obstacles the soldiers had to suffer
through. War really was a time of pain and grief, not of glory. This idea is seen in Owens overall
style of writing. He is rather honest and blunt about wartime. Basically, he wants his audience to
feel the pain of what soldiers of any war had to go through. His final words are, The old Lie: Dulce
et decorum est/ Pro patria mori. (Gioia 783). The translation of those words says, It is sweet and
fitting to die for ones country. He just wants everyone to know that it is in deed a lie to believe
that war and dying for ones country should be rewarded and glorified.
Another wartime writing by Tim OBrien is known as The Things They Carried (Gioia 706).
Unlike the last piece of literature, this one is somewhat of a story rather than a poem. Tim
OBrien does a fantastic job of setting the tone and style of his piece in such a way that his
audience truly gets the full experience of what being a soldier in combat felt like. It is unclear
whether OBrien wrote a biographical story

My City was written by James Weldon Johnson in 1923. This poem represents the different aspects
Manhattan has in its city. In the poem My City , James Weldon Johnson used concrete sensory
details, repetition, personification, and a rhetorical question to show what he will miss in the city he
lives in when he dies. My City is a poem that has fourteen lines and two stanzas, also known as a
Petrarchan sonnet. In these two stanzas the author uses literary techniques to portray the meaning
of the poem. Some literary elements the author uses is concrete sensory details and
personification. James Johnson uses these types of details to show the happy and peaceful things
he will be missing when he dies. Or smell the flowers or hear the singing birds/Or watch the

on him dying and what he will miss when he is gown. Her (Line 9 12) was used seven times in
the poem to show that the city of Manhattan is so important to him he is giving it human like

The Great War Propaganda
The Great War was not only fought with tanks, U boats, and trench warfare, but it was fought with
propaganda. Propaganda from both sides was used throughout the Great War to help try and shape
the opinions of each embattled nation. This total war did not only require strategic fighting on the
battlefield. It also required innovation and at times even deceptive propaganda. The British,
Germans and United States governments specifically, invested many of its resources into

1) Competitive Rivalry within the Industry Extremely High
The level of competition in the sector of athletic shoes, apparel and equipment is extremely high
between two primary businesses in this category and that is Adidas and Nike. Other shoe
businesses also are fighting to take a pieces of the market with new products and promotions these
companies include for athletic shoes brands such as Reebok, Puma, Under Armour, Converse,
Vans, New Balance, Fila, Asics, Keds, Geox, Rockport, Ecko and for clothing brands new
competitors such as Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, Nautica and the Gap. All of these emerging
brands with some of them having their own customer bases or brand loyalty do threaten Nike s
control of the largest segment of the market. It is not so much the price of the shoes but the
branding that drives the market. So if the brand is popular than that is what the customer is looking
for more than price. Much of this threat to Nikes branding is from changing customer preferences
for what brand of sports shoes that they want.
To compete within this market a constant string of creative new invention using newer technology
to appeal to the consumer has to take place. Nike fortunately has such brand recognition and
customer loyalty along with numerous patents on materials and designs that they can continue to
hold onto the lead and seem to continue to grow into other market segments using brand line

Yossarian is the main character of Catch 22, and one of just a few characters that get fleshed out
during the story. Yossarian represents many of the themes and ideas of Catch 22, and provides a
character that most people can sympathize with. Yossarian is continually worried about dying but
at the same time continues to fly his missions so someone else doesn t have to fly his for him.
Yossarianthinks he is sane while everyone else is crazy; however everyone else thinks the exact

of life versus death and sanity versus insanity are some of the things that define Yossarian while he
himself represents the psyche of a soldier during war.
Yossarian is described as a big burley Assyrian man. His appearance makes him markedly

Lymphoma
Lymphoma is cancer that occurs when cells of the immune system, called lymphocytes, a type of
white blood cell, grow and multiply uncontrollably (Lymphoma.org). Lymphocytes are in the lymph
nodes, spleen, thymus, bone marrow and other parts of the body (Webmd.com). This type of cancer
is the most common blood cancer (Lymphoma.org).
Cancerous lymphocytes can travel to many parts of the body, including the lymph nodes, spleen,
bone marrow, blood, or other organs, and form a mass called a tumor. Lymphocytes are the warriors
of the immune system (Marieb Hoehn). The body has two main types of lymphocytes that can

They became homeless. Their children were forced to grow up in depravity, with no schooling

Telephone systems have many different features this allows us to handle and manage calls in a
professional manner.
Call holding places a caller on hold so you can perform another task. This could be to locate
paperwork, find client/customer details, retrieve information from another member of staff or

Whenever you make a call you are your companies representative so it is always important to be
as polite and as helpful as possible as this may in turn create more custom for your business.
1.6Explain the purpose of summarising the outcomes of a telephone conversation before ending the
call.
Summarising is important so both parties involved are sure of the information that has been
exchanged, it also ensures all questions are answered fully. For example during a long conversation
about several different products your company produces you say ВЈ5 per unit but the caller thinks
you said 5 units per ВЈ so summarising will prevent misunderstanding and incorrect information
being relayed in a different company. Also if the conversation was long some finer details may
have been missed simply due to the large amount of information discussed. Some companies have a
policy were a courtesy email is sent to the caller in which all the information from the call has been
summarised and additional information can be added.
1.7Describe how to identify problems and who to refer them to.
When a call comes into the office always take a name (full if possible and preferably) and the
company they are calling from, try and obtain from the caller either what the problem is exactly or
from which department the problem arisen from and if they know who within the department they

The shopping mall is the public marketplace of the wealthy industrialized societies. Malls are
expensive to build and operate, and typically several gigantic chain department stores act as
anchors for the mall. These department stores are connected by climate controlled passageways
lined with smaller stores offering everything from ice cream to speciality clothing to movie theaters.
(Plattner 1989, 173)
This definition clearly indicates that mall is associated with wealthy, developed and industrialized
societies. But two of the largest shopping malls in South Asia, namely Bashundhara City and
Jamuna Future Park are situated at Bangladesh; which is, according to Global (MPI) 2014, is the
third poorest country in South Asia (Global Multidimensional Poverty Index, June, ... Show more

The symbols of the growth of Dhaka include a changing skyline, high rises buildings both for
commercial and residential purposes, choking traffic and rows of fancy new shopping malls.
Every detail of these malls, whether the interior or facilities, reflects the stereotype mega mall
design to maximize the potential to spend whether on groceries, clothes, shoes, reading material,
food, cinema or entertainment all are available in one place.
Though these malls, in Bangladesh, initially faced huge fear of not running at all, now a days these
are being popular than ever. The tremendous hike in the number of mighty expensive trendy
shopping malls and the growing culture of shopping malls tend to exaggerate class distinction.
Even middle class s people take these malls as a status symbol.
The explosive growth of shopping malls in Bangladesh presents a set of complex and expanding
issues. Critics of mall expansion in the region express concern about western cultural aggression.
Others fear that these expensive malls replacing our middle class saving oriented culture by the

New Orleans Narrative
Quarter Million? Doubt it. Though this room looks nice, I d say this is a typical loft in New
Orleans. Far less than that I d imagine. But I hope you realize we can t stay here the whole
night. This is the home to a single chick and she s most likely out partying tonight and she ll be
home before the sun comes up. I know, I know. Leo grumbled, burying her face into the cushion
crinkling her nose as the couch pleaded her to stay. If she had the strength to whisk away the
soft piece of heaven with her she would ve in a heartbeat. But can t we just improvise if the
owners do come? She looked ahead and caught the moonlight that poured through the ivory pane
doors, reminding her that the room was not hers. It was never hers. What belonged to her,
however, was a shabby miniature apartment that resided in downtown New Orleans wherever
distant that location could have been at that moment. Still, in her mind, Leo romantically
considered that this loft existed just for her a ticket past socioeconomic borders even if it was just
for a night. What transpires in the life of a middle class resident of the city? Would they view the
streets as Leo had? She absentmindedly kicked her feet. Questions that needed more digging into
displayed themselves in front of her, begging to be answered.... Show more content on

My Passion In Writing
Has writing ever impacted your life? I often write to express my feelings towards situations that are
presented to me. Alternatively, I use writing to settle the rage within myself no matter the subject
matter I always stay true to writing with internal purpose. Writing something down on paper is
much easier for me, it s as though my hand leads my thoughts. It s wonderful to escape and through
writing, I get that feeling. If it was not for me taking speech and given the assignment to write
about something that affected my life I would have never found my passion for writing.
Two weeks into the class I was shaken up when my teacher, Mrs. Murphy gave us a speech topic
that read something that has had a major effect on you . This assignment had to be presented in
front of my peers, but it had to come from a writing assignment. Mrs. Murphy didn t have many
strict requirements for this assignment except she demanded that we present our speech with
passion. After class on my way home many topics ran through my head but none of them actually
stuck. I then took a right, turning into my drive way, seeing my house that is not yet livable since
the flood I knew that this is what I base my assignment on. This was a painful subject for me but I
knew that I could present passion through this topic.
August 16th,2016 many hearts were shattered. Prolonged rainfall in southern parts of
Louisiana resulted in catastrophic flooding that submerged thousands of houses and businesses.
The way I

  • 2. March On Washington Essay On August 28, 1963, the historic March on Washington, also known as the March on Washington for Jobs and Food took place. It drew more than two hundred thousand people to the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C.. It was a political rally that would bring notice to the injustices faced by African Americans across the country. This event is widely regarded as a milestone in the history of the American civil rights movement. It would be during this protest that Martin Luther King Jr. would give his famous I Have A Dream Speech that emphasized his belief that someday, all men and women could be joined together in peace. The speech cemented his status as a social change leader and helped influence the nation to act on civil rights for African... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The march was planned to begin in Selma, Alabama and end in Alabama s capital, Montgomery. Police with nightsticks and tear gas stopped the protesters as they tried to cross the Edmund Pettus Bridge. King was not present in this march, but the attacks were televised. People at home watched as marchers were beaten bloody and severely injured. Seventeen of the marchers had to be hospitalized after the event. Due to all of the occurring violence, the day became known as Bloody Sunday. A second march was planned, but would be cancelled due to a restraining order preventing the march. The third march was organized and Martin Luther King Jr. made sure to be included. King received support from President Lyndon B. Johnson in this demonstration. He found a way around the restraining order and a different action was taken in the third march. On March 9, 1965, King and 2,500 marchers, both black and white, set out to cross the Edmund Pettus Bridge and were met by barricades and state troopers. Instead of reacting in a violent way and facing confrontation, King instructed the marchers to kneel in prayer. When finished praying, he and all of the marchers turned and went back the way that they came. This march caused a loss in support from some younger African Americans, but nonetheless the march led to the passage of the Voting Rights Act, which guaranteed the right to vote to all African ... It is astonishing to realize how racist and cruel the Nazis acted towards the Jews. According to A Teacher s Guide to the Holocaust, once Hitler was in control of the German government he translated his harsh feeling toward Jewsinto many policies and statutes which eroded the rights of German Jews from 1933 1939 ( Victims ). The anti Jewish racist legislation passed The Nuremberg Laws in September, 1935. These laws made an extremely in depth Nazi definition of who was Jewish. I think many German people and Nazis were pressured to join the Nazi Party in this mass murder because, if found or caught helping out the Jews in any way they were considered traitors and possibly killed as well. Jews and only the Jews were singled out for total elimination. Even though the Germans did not want a few groups in their way, they did not want to kill them off. The ideal of reducing inferior Polish and Russian populations to create space for a stretched out German Reich would not be realized, but the elimination of as many Jews as possible from the world stage stayed Germany s all time major concern, to which resources sustained to be directed even as the war was being lost. Nor were the Jews given a opportunity to change or correct their customs. The Nazis did not want the Jews to inner mix with Germans so they created a law. At no point in time, for any reason was a Jew allowed to break these laws, or they would be torture, maybe even murdered. According to the Commentaries to the German Racial Laws of 1936, The Blood Protection Law deals with the segregation of Jewish and German blood from the biological point of view... • 4. Amyloid Precursor Protein Essay Amyloid precursor protein (APP) has many functions and regulations. This protein is involved in neural development. Many may know it for its involvement in the pathology of Alzheimer disease as well as other neurodegenerative diseases. However, APP is a developmental gene. This gene regulates neurons, their differentiation as well as migration. This gene is also involved in neurite outgrowth and the regulation of synaptic function (1). Despite knowledge of these functions, many functions of APP is still unclear (2). Structure: APP is a member of conserved type 1 membrane proteins which also includes amyloid precursor like proteins 1 and 2, APLP1 and APLP2 (human), Appl (fly), and apl 1 (worm). They each contain a large extracellular ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Additionally, studies have also demonstrated a role for APPs in regulating stem cells. APP encourages the differentiation of neural stem cells into astrocytic lineage (2). In human embryonic stem cells, the over expression of APP or its soluble forms causes fast and strong differentiation towards a neural fate (1). Another function of this protein that have been found in some studies was that APP was shown to undergo rapid axonal transport to synaptic sites. Moreover, APP was found in vesicular sections of dendrites and axons. This suggests a possible role for APP in synaptic function (1). These functions of APP are shown to be involved in neural development. Therefore, APP is a complex protein that posses many functions, many of which are still not very well understood. Fig 1: Summary of the roles of APP and its metabolites during neural development As mentioned earlier APP is found to be involved in neural development. The functions discussed above have shown how. During early development, the expression pattern of APP in neuroblasts and neurons in the neural tube suggests a role in neurogenesis, including neural proliferation, differentiation and axonal outgrowth (7). People have developed Spinach based sensors against adenosine, ADP, S adenosyl methionine (SAM), guanine, cyclic di GMP (c di GMP) and GTP using existing aptamer sequences. A key challenge for RNA based sensors is that they normally function poorly in cells. This is because RNA is easily degraded by nuclease and also has poor folding in intracellular. Poor folding RNA can be contributed by many elements, such as the difference folding structures and thermal instability, or rely on ion concentration. Owen also tries to give the poem a serious tone to it by exclaiming, Gas! Gas! Quick boys! But someone still was yelling out and stumbling As under a green sea, I saw him drowning (Gioia 782). He wants the reader to understand what serious obstacles the soldiers had to suffer through. War really was a time of pain and grief, not of glory. This idea is seen in Owens overall style of writing. He is rather honest and blunt about wartime. Basically, he wants his audience to feel the pain of what soldiers of any war had to go through. His final words are, The old Lie: Dulce et decorum est/ Pro patria mori. (Gioia 783). The translation of those words says, It is sweet and fitting to die for ones country.
