The Role of the Modern Woman
Looking Back in Time: The Purpose of Our Being
When God created woman (Genesis 2: 18-24)
The LORD God said: "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will
make a suitable partner for him.” So the LORD God formed out of
the ground various wild animals and various birds of the air, and he
brought them to the man to see what he would call them; whatever
the man called each of them would be its name. The man gave
names to all the cattle, all the birds of the air, and all the wild
animals; but none proved to be the suitable partner for the man. So
the LORD God cast a deep sleep on the man, and while he was
asleep, he took out one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh.
The LORD God then built up into a woman the rib that he had taken
from the man. When he brought her to the man, the man said: "This
one, at last, is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; This one
shall be called 'woman,' for out of 'her man' this one has been
taken.” That is why a man leaves his father and mother and clings to
his wife, and the two of them become one body.

The Role of the Modern Woman
The Evolution of the Woman’s Role
Partner in the workplace
The pressures of modern living usually mean that the woman also has to help provide for the family.
Career versus home?
For a long time, women were expected to stay at home fulltime. This is not so anymore for many families BUT a lot of women still choose to forego their careers to be with
their kids fulltime. Ultimately, it’s your choice. If you really had a choice, what would you choose?
Whatever your choice or situation NOW, make the most out of it.

No matter what type, there is only one call: to
live out our call as women – to be
nurturers and bearers of life and love.
But we cannot do this if we don’t love
ourselves first.
Do YOU love yourself ?

home life and everything in between
Remember:
Your career is a gift
Your marriage and being a mother (if you are
one) is a gift
Your life is a gift
Use that gift wisely!
Do not abuse nor misuse the gifts you have
received.
Use your gifts to bless the world!

Tips on Finding a Work-Home
Balance
Put people over things, never things over people. Your family should be top priority. Give ample time for it. Quality AND quantity time are both important.

Tips on Finding a Work-Home
Balance
Set limits on work time. As much as possible, leave all
work-related tasks (and pressures and stress!) at the
office. When you’re at the office, try taking regular, short
breaks without leaving your place to help relieve stress.

Make sure that each family
member is aware of the
rules (even the yayas). Print

and paste them on your
walls.
Have a regular routine with
your kids (if you have
them). E.g. Set a certain
mealtime that you should
eat together; have a daily
bedtime routine with them

At the End of It All: What Matters
Most
Conclusion: What Matters Most by Kenny Rankin
It's not how long we held each other's hand
What matters is how well we loved each other
It's not how far we travelled on our way
Of what we found to say
It's not the spring you see, but all the shades of green
It's not how long I held you in my arms
What matters is how sweet the years together
It's not how many summer times we had to give to fall
The early morning smiles we tearfully recall
What matters most is that we loved at all.
It's not how many summer times we had to give to fall
The early morning smiles we tearfully recall
What matters most is that we loved at all.
What matters most is that we loved at all.

Prayer
Today, I receive all of God's love for me
Today, I open myself to the unbounded, limitless,
overflowing abundance of God's universe
Today, I open myself to God’s blessings, healing and
miracles
Today, I open myself to God's Word so I would become
more like Jesus every day
Today, I proclaim that I am God's beloved, I am God's
servant, I am God's powerful champion.
And because I am blessed, I will bless the world in Jesus'
name. Amen.
