Q&A Relay in brief
What
Q&A Relay is a method and a digital tool where people can ask each other
questions. The process transforms tacit knowledge into tangible data. In
addition, the tool maps communication patterns and relations. This innovative
analysis tool is developed by researcher Pia Lauritzen, PhD. Her work on the
nature of questions and the possibilities inherent in questioning is the
foundation for the method.
How
When the relay kicks off, each participant is given a prompt (“a baton”) by
email to ask a question of a participant they choose themselves. Then the
person receiving the question will answer the question on a digital platform.
All answers are sent directly to the asking participant by email. After
answering the question, the answering person sends off another question to a
person they choose. The external Q&A Relay platform allows for anonymity
and data collection.
Why
Because the method enables you to gather useful and rich data while you also
engage participants in a quick, collaborative and responsive manner.

In preparation for the summit, we will try out something
new. We will run an online Partnering Relay starting this
week. The Relay is a ‘question and answer’ exercise where
we engage with each other on the topic of Partnering for
Impact. We strongly encourage and expect you to engage
with your colleagues in the Relay. All the summit
participants are included in the Relay.
The input from the Partnering Relay will shape the content
of the Opening the Box summit – so we count on all of you
to make your voice heard.
