- 4. Introduction This document isa details document of a Microsoft windows installation, Linux installation and some faulty PC. This document shows the details of windows installation, internet security installation, Microsoft office installation and other utility software in one section. Another section hold the details of Linux test plan and the reports of Linux perform on this test plan. It also describe faulty PCs fault, cos of this faults and way of solving this problems.
- 5. Windows Installation I havechosen the windows 10 OS of 64 bit for this windows installation process. This operating systems minimum required is 4 GB RAM and 20 GB free space in hear drive. - 44. Linux Installation- Installation ofLinux- This is a report which describe the installation process of Linux operating system with the system performance record and description of the test plan. This installation process is include the command line interface and graphical representation. Identification of distribution Linux is an open source. It has many distribution like CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian, Kali, Linux mint etc. I have chosen the Ubuntu for the installation process. I have chosen Ubuntu 15.04for this installation. Disk Partition The description of the disk partition of Ubuntu. It hold total 15.03 GB empty space. The command “sudo fdisk –l” was use to check the disk partition. Total 2 GB memory for the swap and 5 GB for extend. Identification and description of device drive This section will check that all the drives of the device has successfully installed. For generate the device drive location the command is “sudo lsmod” and to generate the details of video drive the command key is “modinfo video”. Description of setting up administration and stander user

The account type should be declared if it is an administrator or user account and provide password to keep it safe. Network setup For connect to network there is an option which called edit connection. There is an option connection which is use for a new network setup. There are many kind of network like Wi-Fi and cable. So the type of connection should be declared. Description of install process. One application must be install during this report. - 66. Faulty PC PC-1 1. Thesteps that you followed to identify the fault. The PC was not supporting the pen drive. I have connected USB device in this PC but it is not showing any drive. 2. The cause of the fault USB ports of this pc might not be working anymore or installation of the drive of USB might not be successful. 3. The steps taken to remedy the fault I have reinstall the USB drive in the PC for remedy the fault. 4. The success or failure of the repair I have done the USB installation successfully and the problem of this pc is solved. And the USB drives is supporting. PC-2 1. The steps that you followed to identify the fault. The Wi-Fi of the laptop is not working. I have tried to connect my laptop with the Wi-Fi but the device is not detecting the Wi-Fi.

The steps taken to remedy the fault I have reinstall the LAN drive in the laptop to remedy the problem and it was not working then I take it for servicing. 4. The success or failure of the repair The service center repair this fault successfully and then Wi-Fi was supporting in this device. PC-3 1. The steps that you followed to identify the fault. The PC was restarting the again and again. When I work in my pc for long time it take restart automatically. 2. The cause of the fault This pc may not be able to take high load or this could be happened for less space in hard drive. Another problem might be faulty motherboard. It could also be happened for windows installation fault. 3. The steps taken to remedy the fault
- 68. I have triedto install my windows and make free space as much as possible. Then I format the pc. 4. The success or failure of the repair The fault was not repaired. I have tried every way possible by me but cannot solve the issue. PC-4 1. The steps that you followed to identify the fault. Keyboard of this PC is not working properly. Sometime it scroll down automatically. Some alphabet do not work while writing. 2. The cause of the fault The connection of keyboard might be broken down or those alphabet might be broken. That why it was not working. 3. The steps taken to remedy the fault I went to IDB and bought a new keyboard and connect that with my PC. Then I check all the letters. 4. The success or failure of the repair After connecting new keyboard all the alphabets ware working correctly. Conclusion I have learned many things while doing this assignment. Now I can easily install windows and Linux operating system in any device. I know more about drives and other application
