The document shows code for mounting a cloud drive to the local file system of an Azure role instance. It initializes a local cache, creates a cloud drive by specifying a page blob URI, mounts the drive to a local path, allows reading and writing files, takes a snapshot to backup the drive, and then unmounts it. The cloud drive acts like a network attached drive but is hosted in the cloud.

Browserify allows JavaScript code to be bundled into a single file so that modules and dependencies can be required in the browser like in Node.js. It uses CommonJS modules and requires dependencies to be defined with the require function. When bundled, all dependencies are included in the file and modules are scoped within their own namespace. This avoids issues with global namespace pollution and manually calculating inclusion order that come with directly including modules on a page.

Beyond Golden Containers: Complementing Docker with Puppet
Often, Docker or more generally containers and immutable infrastructure are viewed as a replacement for configuration management. This talk explains why that is not the case, and that they are in fact complementary.
Containers move the challenges that configuration management solves to different places in the application lifecycle. The talk explains where Puppet fits into this changed lifecycle, and what tools Puppet provides there.

One of the costs of working on the web has traditionally been having to work in multiple languages. JavaScript has been the only choice for web front-ends, but as soon as you start back-end work, it can be anything from PHP to Python to Perl to Ruby or even C. Anything, that is, but JavaScript.In the last year server-side JavaScript has leapt forward with a passion, partly due to CommonJS but also due to NodeJS. With these new advances we have an opportunity to enjoy more code re-use, and faster, more efficient pages.
We’ll explore server-side JavaScript and look at how we can use a JavaScript DOM/BOM to run YUI3 on NodeJS, allowing us to reuse the same code on the client and the server, deliver targeted experiences to various classes of client, and smoke test DOM operations during continuous integration.

How I make a podcast website using serverless technology in 2023
In 2022, I launched a Kotlin podcast show, Kotlin Fireside Chat, with my friends in Kotlin User Group. Now, we're taking things to the next level by building a podcast website with a statistical analysis dashboard. We've built a static website using Jamstack and connected it to a serverless API written in Kotlin. In order to aggregate the listener number across platforms, such as YouTube, BiliBili, Ximalaya, Lizhi, Qingting, we've also created a crawler to grab those numbers and display them in a custom dashboard. Everything is made by open source technology and deployed on Google Cloud Platform. In this talk, I'll share my experience and the lessons I learned when using all the technologies in 2023.
