Shakespeare went on to write 38 plays and 154 sonnets over the course of his career. Some of his most famous works include Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, and A Midsummer Night's Dream. Though he had a humble beginning, Shakespeare found success in London as a playwright and shareholder in The Globe theater, cementing his legacy as one of the greatest writers in the English language. He died in 1616 at the age of 52 and was buried in Holy Trinity Church in Stratford-upon-Avon.
